Big Joe Handling Systems

I had a custom made metal storage in our garage July, 2015. Adam, my sales person is the worst getting back to me with delayed delivery and installation. After many e mails and phone calls to Adam trying to correct wrong privacy screen that installed and not getting anywhere/​not getting answers from Adam I insist talk to his supervisor. Rod, after my explanation he suggested I speak to CEO, Boyd. You will think I’ll get the service after I told situation to the company’s CEO but NO, I’m still waiting for my screen in grey 5 month after. HELLO!!! Anyone at Big Joe provide customer service or does it stop once you get paid over $ 4000.00 for a storage unit? No return phone call and no return e mail.

We ordered some shelving and had a very difficult time working with Big Joe. Their scheduled delivery kept getting pushed back and they had to come at least 3 separate times to deliver missing or incorrect parts from our order. Sometimes they just wouldn’t show up at all and no one would call us to let us know.
This lack of communication and follow through caused many unnecessary headaches while we were moving our business.
To help relations they offered to refund the shipping we paid. After at least 5 calls and many emails they finally issued the refund.

I called Big Joe and made an appointment with Luis (Sales Rep) to come and give me an estimate on new Racks. Luis never showed up. The next day he just randomly showed up and took a quick look and told me that he would email me an estimate. HE DIDNT! I had to call him and remind him of it. After receiving the estimate, I emailed him questions which he was not answering. At that point I called the office and asked to be switched Sales Rep, because Luis wasn’t doing his job. After a couple of minutes Luis called giving me excuse that he had been in a lot of meetings, that’s why he had not gotten back to me. He then told me they would be able to schedule the installation of racks right away. I agreed. Then he calls me back that it was going to be about a week and half wait. Fine, we schedule a date and time. Just randomly I get a crew delivering racks, not on the scheduled date we had agreed on and they told us the installers would be here in about an Hour. My guys had to stay and take everything from our currents racks and put everything to the side (what a mess). I called Luis, he then told me that no one was coming to install them, that the driver just made a mistake on bringing the racks. Now we have our warehouse, with things all over the place. Today was the day they were to support to come and install the racks first thing in the morning, its 3pm and they are still not here. Needless to say HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

I must admit, our company was extremely furious and frustrated upon purchasing a Kalmar forklift from big joe. We saw an ad on CL posted by their marketing department and decided to buy it from sales person Ramil. I was advised NOTHING was wrong with it and is running great. I am no expert at forklifts or aware of any complications that can arise.
Upon purchasing it was leaking, emitted a really strong sulfur smell, wouldn’t start and just a bunch of problems. We really did not sign up for this as before the sale was finalized I had advised Brad from big joe «Please don’t sell me this if something is wrong with it» It had broken down many times after the first week of purchase and caused everyone in our company severe migraines from the issues. We weren’t able to help customers load and unload inventory and I nearly broke my arm by helping customers manually load boxes and boxes of cargo. What made me purchase the forklift in the first place was a 30 day warranty backed by Brad. I had checked with several other companies and all their used forklift sales are «As is» condition and I did not want to get screwed.
We called Big Joe, the staffs that answered the phone were really accommodating and understood our frustration. Brad, the manager sent a technician out to fix it I think his name was James. He fixed the forklift and it was running well. for like two days … and then the same problem happened again. We had called Brad again about the situation, they sent a driver to pick up the forklift and repair it, we must’ve of went back and forth 3 times because we kept sending it back cause it just wasn’t functioning properly.
Brad lent us a temporarily forklift to drive before while the were fixing it. Even though the first transaction didn’t go very smoothly, what I admire was Brad’s customer service. Brad was extremely accommodating even though he is very busy. This is exactly how you should do business in America. Not only was he patient and understood our frustration, in the end they end up replacing our forklift with another forklift that runs extremely well. They even sent a follow up technician named Han’s to take a look at it before everything was finalized. This whole process took about two weeks.
Brad went above and beyond to make sure we were happy in the end, regardless of the time it look, we greatly appreciate it. Many other business will just leave you in the dirt and move on and not pickup your phone calls after the sale is made. Brad’s post sale attitude remained equally positive.
They are an extremely busy company but in the end they handled this discrepancy very well. Thank you Brad and Big Joe we will be returning when we get our second warehouse situated!

I recently moved to CA for a construction management job. Part of my responsibilities include managing our material supply chain. I inherited a disorganized and cluttered warehouse and I began to see a number of inefficiencies as soon as I started. For instance, needing to move multiple pallets to get to the materials we actually wanted, and dealing with forklift issues that add dramatically delayed our order processing timeline.
Immediately I began looking for a better solution to our warehouse management and quickly came upon Big Joe. After an initial meeting I was completely confident they would be able to handle the job. They set us up with a new warehouse design that maximized our shelf space for materials, which has contributed to keeping everything much more organized than it was in the past. And now when we run into forklift problems Big Joe dispatches a field technician almost immediately and gets us back up and running in no time.

They should call themselves «Big Jerks»! If they can screw things up they will. I made the mistake of calling them when my forklift died and asked for a truck to push it back into the warehouse to charge. Instead they sent some kid who laughed at me and said he could not help, never saw this before and told me he had no idea what I should do.
Then I get sent a bill for 275.00 for the «visit». I’ll never contact them again. Every job they have ever done with me has ended up in a mess. They reconfigured our warehouse incorrectly and managed to completely ruin our warehouse floors. They care nothing of long term customers and if you are a woman who might be in a jam and need some help these are the last people on earth who will care.

Big Joe’s definitely knows how to make a customer feel at home, they would treat my problem as if it were one of their own. I remember going to United Rentals about two weeks ago for a floor scrubber and their selection was very limited plus the customer service wasn’t that great I felt as if I were a burden being there when all I really wanted was a simple scrubber. I went down to Big Joe’s this week and within about 5min of requesting a scrubber, there was one ready to be loaded up on my truck. Not to mention the killer deal I got with 40% discount for being a first customer. Everyone should give them a try! You won’t be let down

These guys really know how to maximize storage space. I’m so glad I called them to help us out. I would have never planned out our warehouse space so efficiently. Great service, and great prices.

I’m good glad Big Joe Handling System recommended for me to get forklift certified. I’ve been on the forklift for a couple years now, but having the certification kept my company in compliance and added to my resume. I actually got a small raise because I was not certified. I’m so glad Big Joe recommended that I get my certification!

Fantastic. Bought a set of boltless shelving and despite the fact that these guys obviously deal in huge volume, they were friendly, attentive and helpful with my small purchase. Ramil was awesome… he sent a quote to me within an hour; I paid at their office on Eden Landing Rd. and picked up the shelving at their warehouse on Whipple Avenue. In the time it took me to pay and drive to the warehouse, the order had been pulled and was waiting for me. The shelves were great quality and a good value; they were in perfect condition and exactly as described.

My experience with Big Joe was appallingly bad. We had an oil leak on a forklift and it needed a repair. Despite knowing what was wrong in advance on a forklift they had previously serviced the associate still somehow did not have the proper parts to make the repair. So did he just turn around and get the part he needed? No. He decided he needed to break a piece on our forklift with a hammer. After which he called his boss for about 30 mins and decided he needed to go back to the main office (30 mins away) anyway. He came back and started working, but lo and behold he again did not have the right equipment and had to go back again. Eventually it was fixed, but it took him 8 hours to replace a tube. We were charged for the piece he broke, for his time on the phone, and for his time going back and forth to the main office. This was at over $ 100 an hour. Unsurprisingly, my co-​workers and I unanimously decided we would never work with Big Joe again.
p. s. They also wrote us a $ 1300 estimate to re-​align the forks on an old forklift. My co-​worker fixed it with a wrench in 20 minutes. I am a worker not a boss, but this is what I observed sharing space with a Big Joe serviceman.

I highly recommend Big Joe for all your Bay Area boltless rack shelving needs. Kevin at Big Joe has consistently come through for me when we need to expand our warehouse shelving on a budget. I have compared prices and Big Joe is by far the lowest price metal shelving in the San Francisco Bay Area. When you add in the incredible service and quick response you can easily see why I give Big Joe a perfect 5 stars!

I bring my e30 to repair because the switch was broken. When they call me back with the bill they try to charge 1:30 minutes to check the unit. No body told me went I drop it off. But the point how they can charge $ 110 and hour when I told them what I want?
After a few minutes talking with this guy he told me he make a mistake. He only is going to charge me 2:00 of labor of the 3:50 he try. I guess they work on commission.
At the end I had a better price but why they try to screw the costumer ?
I m owner of small business I think is hard enof to survive. We don’t need that king the people.
