This is a great dive bar. The bartender is fully attentive. She strives to excel. I come in late usually after 8 pm and she, the bartender, is always welcome to newcomers. Not much food, unless you like chips(charged) — no there. ATM is next door or across the street. They take credit cards, but no cash back. Fun place, but no kids…,

Really low key. In a small parkinglot, not much parking. My hubby and i live close and stopped in on chance for a brew. The bartender is a small lady with a heavy Asian accent but dont let it fool you, she is fiesty! Give her some time, maybe break the ice. She is really funny. Its a really small dive bar. One pool table. Full bar. Not sure about a restroom and she closea pretty eairly most nights, theres not much triffic through here at all. We will be back for a beer soon! :)

Bottom’s Up is the type of bar encountered in 60’s chitown s.f. and the tenderloin. the primary clientele are single men.(or they’re single when they’re there). Bottom’s is off tennyson and across from a 7 – 11. amenities –bud, corona, all kinds of beer signs all around –hanging red lanterns, hanging… from past celebrations. –heavy pours –only one draft beer, bud(3.25) –shot prices on all the liquor bottles(to aid bartender, no doubt) –pool table –internet juke box –friendly bartender –statue of budda and incense offerings. pours: tall gin/tonic(4.25) –tasted strong and weak at end. drafts: –mostly older crowd.

I first discovered this place when I was in college. The assignment was to improve a business and I had just turned 21, so I convinced my group to improve a bar. So as research, I went to different bars in Hayward looking for crappy service. We went to Arnie’s Time Out(closed) and they suggest Bottom’s Up. So we went in on a Saturday afternoon in the summer and it was popping. Apparently it was someone’s birthday and they had BBQ. We were offered food. The drinks were very fairly priced and strong! We had a blast! After that, we ended up going every weekend. Unfortunately we moved out of the area last year, but definitely enjoyed that place. Granted, it is not in the best of neighborhoods. The regulars can come across as grumpy. :) But it’s a dive bar, and it’s MY dive bar!

We went here on a dare! If you read my other reviews, you will note that i often frequent dive bars in less than friendly territory, but this place was on a whole nother level brotha! It’s off of Tennyson, an already mean street, in a shopping center that makes you feel like you might get trapped in at any moment. It’s dark inside, maybe darker than I’ve ever seen. Drinks are cheap and heavy poured, my rum and coke was nearly confused with sprite on the rocks. Don’t expect a warm welcome from the neighborhood manual laborers or the drunk by nooners, but keep to yourself and keep a limit on how long you’ll be there and you should be fine.
