Highly recommended! I moved up to the bay area from San Diego, so an auto-​mechanic was one of the items that I needed to update. I decided to give these guys a try with a simple oil change. I have a Subaru BRZ, so everything about this car tends to cost more than the average car. The gentleman who quoted me (also handles the cars), not only recommended the oil type and filter as if he was going to work on his own car, but pointed out some other items that previous mechanics overlooked; very valid items. I’ve been going to these guys ever since, and I can say that these guys will treat you like family and your car as their own. I just had a 60k service, and these guys finished the task quickly and helped me picked up a new set of appropriate tires.

Excellent customer service and fixed the 3 specific issues I wrote down. I brought my car in at 10am, received a call from Naveen at noon who notified me of the solution to the issues and the cost. He added a discount for the brakes and topped off the power steering fluid for free. I received another call at 3pm that my car was ready for pick up. I felt very comfortable both on the phone and in person. I’ve finally found a good mechanic. Thanks again!

This was my first time leaving an auto repair shop feeling like they actually cared about keeping our old, dented Honda minivan running smoothly!
Great mechanics, friendly service and, importantly, not lazy about solving mystery problems that have plagued our Honda. I know something has been leaking from the engine for years now due to a big stain on the driveway. When I mentioned it at 3 other shops during routine services, they said it would be too difficult to find the leak. I forgot to mention it this time, but Usman brought it to my attention. It turned out to be transmission fluids leaking from a cracked tube. They were able to hammer the metal and put some glue which stopped the leak. It was either this patch or a whole new transmission system, so I was glad they made such an effort. Plus they pulled a nail out of a tire and patched the hole. At no additional charge above my service fee (which included a charge for oil + new belts).
I highly recommend this shop!

Comp U Tune was recommended by my neighbor and friend. I dropped in to speak with Usman and give him the low-​down on my ailing truck. He informed me that he would perform a 32 point inspection first and look into the the issues that I brought to his attention as well. He also recommended an oil change. While we were talking he investigated the «knocking» sound coming from my engine. Within seconds of popping the hood he was able to locate the issue and tell me what was needed to resolve it. He also noticed that my oil was low and «topped it off». That immediately told me that I was in the right spot! I brought my truck in the following day for my scheduled appointment. The 32 point inspection turned up some issues and I also needed brakes. Prior to beginning any additional work outside of the 32 point inspection I was called and informed of the findings along with the recommended course of action and cost. No additional work was performed until they had the green light from me to proceed. Upon my return to pick up my truck I was provided a list of their findings/​next actions all arranged in a neat list in order of need/​importance. Who does this? Someone that cares about your safety, that’s who. When we squared away the bill, which was fair and extremely affordable, I jumped in my truck and happily drove off. Let’s just say I drove in with a 2003 Ford Explorer and Left with a 2014 Ford Explorer. I now have a smooth ride and am looking forward to scheduling the next appointment to get started on my list! So grateful for these guys. This is an honest shop filled with top notch mechanics that are focused on the job at hand and won’t steer you wrong.

Well, what can I say about Usman and his shop? The only words that come to my mind are amazing, quick, and efficient!!! Usman is always so kind and down to earth whenever I see him. I’ve been coming to his shop for about 3 years now and I never had anything bad to say about him or his shop. I needed an honest and reliable mechanic to help maintain my Jaguar S Type. I was always told by my father that it’s rare to find an honest mechanic these days. Especially, one who is honest to female clients. This was not the case at this shop. I was always treated with respect and treated fair. I like to walk into a shop and the owner greets me by my first name! That says a lot about a company! Usman always made sure that my 6 year old daughter and I drove off safely. Just last week during my lunch break my car overheated due to a worn coolant tank. I was really worried since I live over an hour away but, work close to his shop. I was concerned about how I was going to pick up my daughter after school and how I was going to make it home after that. Usman seriously saved me that day! Not only was my car repaired and ready for me when I got off work but, I was able to pick up my daughter after school and drive home THE SAME DAY!!! You guys are amazing!!! Keep up the great work!!!

I have been coming here for about 7 years. In that time I have had about 3 cars in that time and one of them I actually bought from Usman. Usman is a very honest mechanic. Being a single mom with a very tight budget he always works with me to make sure that my daughter and I are safe. Usman has never over charged me and never told me to do more work than I needed. He always makes sure to tell me what is most urgent and what can wait until I have the funds to do it. I have been so pleased with his excellent customer service that I have talked about 4 others into coming to him too.
Oh I almost forgot about Anna. Anna is his secretary and she is definitely very helpful. If Usman is not available to talk to you Anna will make sure to answer all your questions and if she can’t she will promptly get back to you.
All in all I have never been disappointed coming here. Usman’s work ethic is impeccable and his staff is friendly.

Brought a truck here to get a service, and oil change and brake pads. Ending up spending about $ 2200 on all the items they said need attention. Ok, I trust that. As I was leaving I asked if I could have someone take a look at the light on my dash and tell me what the errors were. Sure, no problem they said. It’ll be $ 110 for me to put my scanner on it.
Really? $ 110 after I just spent over $ 2200. You couldn’t do that as a kind gesture or a favor? Not coming back after that. NO thanks!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for this fantastic garage for many years. I was very thankful to run into and have been a loyal customer of Comp U Tune & Brake for 9 years and still going!
The owner, Usman, is an awesome mechanic and a great guy to entrust your car with for all your auto maintenance needs. He and his team do good work and very honest (something rare these days with other mechanics).
Whenever I need a ride home, he or someone would personally drive me back while my car is fixed. That is great customer service.
Usman has also saved my life (in terms of car issues) many times and is always very accommodating. I truly hope his business will have continued success and blessings.

My temperture gage was showing that the vehicle was over heating, after having the car looked at by numerous mechanics and spending several hundreds of dollars I came away with the same problem. I work close to Usman‘s shop and decided to take the car across the street, we had a10 minute conversation. I left the car there within a half hour he called to tell me what the problem was, I kept saying are you sure, are you sure, he reasured me he was, and guaranteed his work. For the first time in months I feel confortable driving my car and the gage is right where it is suppose to be. Fair price, great guarantee, what more can you ask for…

I have been so happy since taking my car to Usman. I used to go the dealer, and will never think twice about going back. Usman has been honest, has reasonable prices, and great customer service. I’ve been recommending him to all my coworkers, and am so glad to finally have a car mechanic that I trust.

I am so happy with the work performed by the shop and the professionalism that Usman showed me. My 1999, Z3 was having numerous codes, backfire and sluggish issues. I had put off all repairs for so long because my experiences with dealerships was that they are so expensive. Usman worked with me to get the car repaired in stages. I think I saved a few hundred dollars by using Comp U Tune. Usman was honest in what could wait and what was needed right away. My Z3 is running great now.
Two days later I took in my other car 2013, KIA Optima for an oil change and tire rotation. Comp U Tune finished the work well and I save $ 40.
I will definitely return there as needed.

Usman totally saved my butt on a Friday Night. My alternator had gone out and all the mechanics in the area shut their doors at 5:00 and i’m calling him at 3:30. I’ve seen a lot of mechanics for my Mercedez and my Chevy 1500 old school and i will tell you, Usman knows his stuff.
Not only did he go out of his way to take care of me that night to make sure i got home (instead of spending the weekend in Union City), he stayed late (even though his family was there and they obviously had plans that night) to make sure the correct parts were installed on my car and done with quality work.
Staff is extremely friendly, very personable and really made my bad situation feel with ease.
Usman was referred to me by a co-​worker and i now give you my fullest, personal recommendation.

I have worked with Uzman twice and feel that he is honest and fair. I am a «do it yourself» guy with a basic distrust of people in the auto repair business, but these guys proved me wrong and «knocked the ball out of the park» by helping me with some work on short notice. My only reservation about recommending Computune is that so many people will find out about them and I won’t be able to get an appointment.
I own a Honda and an Acura, and am not afilliated with them in any way. I think I can describe dealing with them as «why make things complicated like a dealership, when they can be friendly and easy ?» I’m not sure about the negative reviews, but I’m in the IT service business and I can’t please everybody, but I try.

This used to be my family’s first choice for servicing for several years, yet after the latest experience we had here recently, there was no doubt in my mind that we would never set foot there again.
A few months ago, the engine maintenance light for my car came on whenever I started it so we took it in to be looked at. Supposedly the problem was found and resolved, and even though it cost a fortune to get it fixed, we still did so with no complaint. However, only two days passed before the light came right back on, so we took it back in for repairs. Again, the problem was supposedly found and resolved, and yet again, the light turned on a day or so later. This happened a few times before we became fed up with how it seemed nothing was being fixed with the car and yet we were being charged hundreds each time, even if nothing was actually done to the car, and worse, when we were TOLD we wouldn’t be charged for it and yet there it was on the bill when we went to get our car. This probably would have continued on if I had not been able to find out the problem myself by accident. It was the battery of my car that was dying out. When we called them, they said they would look at it and voila, they agreed right away that it was the battery and would fix it. We told them that we refused to pay the labor charges this time since they forced us to pay it before when they had told us they wouldn’t charge it.
When we came to get the car, the owner was no where to be seen and someone else was waiting for us to get the keys and we knew exactly why when we went to make our payment. Yes, there was no separate charge for labor, but it seemed the bill for the battery itself was enough to cover both the part and labor. I’m usually very patient with things like this, but by the end I was both fed up and angered at the way the situation was handled. Now we go elsewhere for our services, and though it may be more expensive, its worth it since the end result fares better.

Comp U Tune & Brake provided excellent customer service and did a top notch job on my front brakes.

I went to them to get my new lift installed on my vehicle, and although they were friendly for the most part, I will never let them touch my vehicle again. Less than a hundred miles after my lift was installed I found multiple suspension parts to be loss and/​or improperly torqued. Although it is normal for parts to become lose, not to the extent that I found nor as quickly. I also found that they did not install the new sway bar links I had provided in the correct spot, even though I specifically told them where they go before I left my vehicle.
What brought me to give them a one star rating was my return trip to them. I brought it back to have them re-​torque the track bar in particular because my torque bar only goes to 100 ft/​lbs and it requires more. Keep in mind this shop claims to be «suspension specialist», I told the owner that my front track bar needed to be torqued to 125 ft/​lbs. He asked me to walk to the vehicle with him and he then said to me «Show me what the track bar is». Honestly, how can you be a suspension specialist and not know what the components are? He then pointed at the lower control arm and asked if that’s what I was talking about. I told him no, and showed him the correct piece and each bolt that needed to be tightened.
He then tried to tell me that that piece could not be my problem but he would do it anyway (BTW: the Track Bar being loose is what was causing my problem, so he was incorrect). He took my vehicle in and put it on the lift and came to get me, told me he wanted to show me that it was already tight and looked rather annoyed. He then began to torque it and surprise surprise the bolt did move and needed to be tighter, strike 2.
And the kicker, any suspension specialist will tell you not to torque suspension components without the weight of the vehicle on the wheels because you will reload the system and cause binding or breakage. Strike 3.
So in summary they:
1: Didn’t install all of the components in the correct place.
2: Did not check torque settings and did not seem to care, then attempted to blame it on unbalanced wheels.
3: Failed to follow basic guidelines when installing suspension components.
They may be able to slap some brakes on a vehicle or change some oil, but I wouldn’t trust them to touch anything on my vehicles.
