Found Studio 180 via Precious Ethel’s Unilocal ROTD. I saw the reviews, wonderful «after» pics and figured it was close to my house so i decided to try. This place did not disappoint…
Lien is great, nice and super talented… she definitely has an eye for color (asian hair, color expert) and the results are fab… I didn’t get the results i had envisioned in my mind but it still looks great… the best way is to show her a pic which i failed to do but was able to convey what i was looking for by pointing at a color swatch book. She also suggested the Olaplex treatment which helped get hair my from drab to fab and looks a lot healthier. She is definitely my new go to person and so glad she’s close by
Place is located in the building complex after Walgreens… so when you see the Walgreens get in your right lane, you’ll see the lime green and black building… before the underpass. Small lot and somewhat hard to get out as traffic is busy around 4:40 on a weekday but there is always that nice person who will let you squeeze in front of them. This place is worth it.

I’m so lucky to have found Lien on here! After seeing her work I knew I had to check her out. I texted her yesterday to see if she can do a consultation on my hair because I wanted her opinion on cutting off my long locks. I was so happy she was able to fit me in later that same day!
I go in and she examines my hair and tells me she thinks going short would look nice on me and to go for it! It was so spontaneous because I just start looking at pictures of short hair dos the day before I saw her. Mind you, I’ve had long hair as long as I can remember and long hair was such a part of me and something I was known for. I was so excited because I’ve been wanting to do something different with my hair and needed and wanted a change. I also have always wanted to donate my hair to a good cause to help someone who needs it. So I figured now would be a good time for that!
She then asks me if I wanted to go ahead cut my hair. I totally didn’t expect to be cutting my hair yesterday but I went ahead and said yes! Let’s do it!
I was so excited to get my hair cut by Lien as I knew I was in good hands. She tied my hair in a ponytail and snipped away my long locks. It felt so amazing, not one ounce of me was nervous of scared as I probably would’ve been before. I kept thinking that my hair will be used to help someone who needs it more than me and I was so grateful to be able to give back.
Thank you Lien for doing such an amazing job and making the process fun and exciting. I absolutely LOVE my new hair! I’m sending 21 inches of hair to Pantene to provide girls and women who have lost their hair by battling cancer. I’ve always wanted to do this and I’m so happy I did. To the people I know battling cancer, this one’s for you!

I’ve been going to Lien for almost 2 years for a trim and color. She’s been great since. She truly specializes in color and I’m so grateful because she is located near me. I’ve always come in with a picture or visual of what I am looking for and Lien will base my hair color off of that and what will look good on me. I couldn’t be happier with what she recommends. She also gives honest tips on how to take care of your hair if you are someone, like me, who don’t make as much time to maintain hair well. I always recommend her to my family and friends and everyone that I have referred have had the same experience. She’s definitely worth every penny. I always enjoy my visits with her because she has a way of making you feel like she’s not just taking care of you as a client but as a peer.

Lien was awesome, It had been 8 years last time I had someone cut my hair. I have long curly hair and I was scare that I was not going to like once it was cut but she did such a great job she really know what she is doing

I am all for spending good money on a hair cut, however I felt I didn’t get exactly what I paid for.
When I got to my appointment I was sat in a chair and waited about 30 minutes until she could start on me, which I think is excessive, especially when I book so much in advance. I understood though, it’s just Lien there on her own juggling clients.
Where I was sat was very dimly lit, apparently there was a light that needed fixing. She apologized for this, but this is when I started getting uncomfortable with the idea of getting my hair cut in the dark. I don’t recall her offering to move me to a better-​lit chair.
She was straightforward and told me my requested lob would be $ 50-​$ 60. I was confused, because a review by someone else said it was $ 40, but I was ready to spend more on a good cut so I went on with it.
I freshly washed my hair at home, however I don’t think my cut should have came out to $ 60 since I wasnt even offered a shampoo before my cut. The communication wasn’t the best (once again, probably my fault) but I had complete faith in her, as it seemed she understood what I wanted.
By the time my hair was dry, I was a bit in shock, so I couldn’t help be nice to cover my dissatisfaction with it. My hair was too layered so that at my neck my hair was layered under my longer pieces, so it looked poofy. Not quite what I asked. My hair ended up being shorter in the back than what we agreed upon. In total she spent no more than 15 min on my hair and I was really upset, but I of course don’t know what to do in this situation. When she was done, I paid the $ 60 and left as quick as I could.
I don’t think I’ll be going back soon, but you might have better luck than I did!

I was getting tired of my boring hair and Lien came to my rescue. I know nothing about hair and so when I came to see her I didn’t know what to do. I just wanted my hair to be livelier. Lien did a balayage ombré on me and it was perfect! It was perfect timing too since its the holidays. Now I know to always go to Lien for my hair needs. Thank you so much Lien!

Lien is seriously amazing!!! For me, personally, she has been a miracle worker!
(BACK STORY) I had damaged, box dyed and then salon dyed hair that was literally fried and burned off! Lien fixed the horrible hair job I had about 15 months ago and I decided to wait and let my hair heal before getting it done again.
Fast forward to today, I just left the salon with the hopes of going blonde! I really didn’t think it would be possible to get the look I wanted, but OMG she is seriously the best of the best of the BEST!!! First of all, my hair feels and looks SO healthy! Secondly, it glows, its gorgeous its AMAZING!!!

Lien was amazing! So professional and friendly! I got a balayage ombré with olaplex treatment done. I found her through Unilocal and saw all the great pictures of previous clients and reviews. This was my first time getting any type of hair coloring treatment so I was so nervous but excited. Lien put me at ease immediately by telling me exactly how the process worked. She minimized the damage that usually comes with bleaching hair and kept it looking shiny and smooth. It felt great and I was so happy with the results! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. :) NO regrets or disappointments here.

I was referred to Lien from a couple different friends of mine, and because her name and salon was always brought up whenever I spoke about getting my hair redone, I just had to book an appointment with her.
I reached out to her one morning, got a reply within an hour. With my busy schedule, she accommodated an appointment on such short notice for when it was the most convenient for me. I really really was impressed by just that alone. I arrived at the salon where it was very clean and had a modern feel to it.
She made me feel so comfortable, listened to my needs and gave her honest opinions. Initially I was a little uneasy about the thought of going lighter because I am more on the deeper skin tone and wasn’t sure if that was going to look good on me, but she reassured me that I will love it and it will be flattering, which made my decision a little easier. I’m so happy I trusted her opinion because my hair looks and feels 100x’s better from when I went to other salons prior.
Lien also took time to explain the process I was undergoing, shared her knowledge, tips, and techniques for curling hair and different looks I can try. There was no awkwardness or empty conversations which I really really loved.
I highly recommend Lien and her studio, she really has talent!

I’ve been going to Lien for years now and I’m always satisfied when I leave! She doesn’t make me feel rushed and is very patient with me being indecisive. I love her new salon, it’s very modern and private. She is definitely worth every penny!

I found Lien through Unilocal and also through word of mouth from my sister. Once I started following her on IG (hairstylien) I was pretty set on having her doing my balayage. You will find so many different types of blonde balayage to give you some inspiration, which you should come prepared with to show Lien.
I loved how easy it was to book through text. She runs a one person salon so I would recommend booking your appointment as soon as you even consider her. If you want a weekend then you really have to book in advance.
Overall my appointment was about 5 hours long which covered the consultation, cut, balayage and styling. She takes her time and does not rush through the appointment. What she is doing is an art, so don’t rush her and give yourself time.
The cut itself was a layered lob $ 40. Quite honestly I could’ve walked out of there with the cut alone and have been ecstatic with how amazing it was. She gave my limp, long and boring hair volume and movement. It also framed my face better. Let’s say that it’s so strong that I don’t know if I like the cut better or the balayage better. So obviously she’s not a one trick pony.
After the cut Lien was really patient with hearing me go back and forth about my ideas. She provided me with all the information I needed to make my final choice between a solid color, natural black base or color lifted base.
Even though I was going from a virgin black to blonde she let me know that it might not get to the blonde I wanted. It might take another visit. Don’t be discouraged! We went for it and now I’m an ashy blonde! That’s the beauty of the under promise.
What I love most about Lien is that she is Asian and understand our hair. She talked me through the science of going blonde which is helpful to understand how the final product will turn out.
I have received so many compliments on my hair and I have Lien to thank for it. I am also happy to support a local small business owner from my hometown.
I am happy that I found someone I can finally trust my hair with!

I have been getting my hair done by Lien for a year now! In a span of a year, I’ve gotten my hair done by her 3 times and not because of corrections or anything like that, my hair just grows really fast haha
I use to go to Lien when she worked at Vizions Salon in downtown Hayward area but I’m so excited that she opened up her own studio! The studio is AMAZING, so modern, clean, of course everything brand new. It is also very easy to get to, just right off of 880 freeway on Jackson! Much easier than going through downtown Hayward area where it gets confusing.
Anywho, I know she gets very busy so I texted her a few weeks prior to. Also because my schedule is super packed during the week so it’s hard to make appts. But she will totally work with you! I told her that I wasn’t in no rush and to let me know if there were any cancellations after 5pm on a weekday that I can come in or a weekend (her weekends are booked till the end of the year). Lien was communicating with me continuously, which I loved because it made me happy that she didn’t forget about me, instead of me constantly trying to bug her.
She also has the best customer service, we can talk the WHOLE time and it’s never awkward. It helps since she knows a couple girls that I know. She also knows EXACTLY what I want, you can tell her any type cut and color and she gets on it right away. You can tell she knows what she’s doing because she’s not standing there trying to figure out what to do next, shes very efficient. She is also very knowledgeable and can tell you what works for your hair and what will not, very HONEST.

I want to say I’ve been going to Lien for about a year now for all my hair needs, mainly for color, and I can’t be any more happier with her work. I forreal love her! I was lucky enough to come across her Instagram or Unilocal reviews (from her previous salon) and loved the blondes she had up. She would post the before and after pictures and that drew me in. How do you go from a carrot top to a nice ashy blonde? When I decided to go blonde, I literally went through 4 – 5 different stylists within 2 months to correct the initial brassssssy ORANGE abomination I had on my head, hoping some stylist out there could help correct it and get me to that nice summer blonde I wanted. I even waited 3 months for an appointment with a popular stylist who was so hard to book and was super disappointed. So, I contacted Lien through text asking about appointment availability and I was surprised she had a fairly open schedule. She asked questions like what I wanted to have done and what condition my hair was at the time to get a feel for what she’d be working with. Lien is just super sweet and very easy to talk to, so I felt comfortable having her work on my hair. She’s very detailed and will let you know what will work and what wont. I wasnt aware that going blonde would be a process. Had one of those 4 – 5 stylists I went to told me this? I wouldnt have pushed to correct the color so quick within two months, cuz that basically killed my long, thick hair… and turned it into broom bristles. So, my very first session with her, I was surprised she got my hair so light. It wasnt exactly the ashy blonde I wanted but it was so much better than the orange I had. First session I ended up with a yellow-​blonde goldilocks look, and I actually didn’t mind it. It was a start and I was already satisfied with the initial session. So I’d wait 3 months between each session until she achieved the perfect blonde I wanted, and she would always squeeze me into her busy schedule (having her newborn son and being new to motherhood). Lien’s just amazing. She’s really focused throughout the whole process and is always excited herself to see the outcome of it. She has never disappointed me. I commute from Daly City just to have her take care of my hair every 3 months. She’s brought me from an orange carrot top to a nice yellow goldilocks look to an ash blonde, then a perfectly blended ombré, and back to a full head of platinum blonde. I couldn’t be any happier she opened up her own salon! It’s perfect for her. She likes to work on her clients herself, without an assistant, so the atmosphere is just intimate, cozy and super chill. Oh, and I have to add this new treatment/​product Olaplex that’s amazing for coloring hair. She told me a bit about it and it protects your hair from damage from bleaching and coloring, and it seriously leaves your hair in better condition than if you didn’t use it. It’s a two or three step process, I forget, but it’s used throughout the hair dying and bleaching process and after to condition it. It’s worth the extra money. Her pricing is reasonable, cuz she really takes her time with each client. Lien loves to see her clients happy. And since I’ve found her, I haven’t tried going to anyone else.

This place is very cute and chic. Lien is great with the subtle changes I request. I’ve been seeing her for over a year, she always does an amazing job. She’s very informative on styling and maintenance. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my new hairstyle. Love her!

Lien did an amazing job on my hair. She gave me lots of suggestions and recommendations. I’m so glad I went to her to get my hair colored plus highlights and lowlights. It has been over a month and I still love the color. I really love how it turned out because I wasn’t sure what I wanted going in.

Lien has done my hair two times now and each time the color just looks better with time. Normally, my hair would look worst after a while from it being dyed. I don’t know if it’s her technique or what but it’s amazing.
I had balayage ombré done by her. My hair was previously colored red and she was able to turn it into a nice icy ash blonde and I couldn’t be happier! Best part is that she offers OLAPLEX!

So I just got my hair done today by Lien and I love my beautiful hair! I previously had my hair done at ulta and asked for a ombré which was a bad idea because the lady gave me highlights? Bayalage? Ombré? I don’t know what she did but it was horrible and it was ORANGE! I texted Lien around 7 in the morning because I wanted her to fix my hair! Luckily! She squeezed me in her schedule and did my hair last minute! Lien is very nice and sweet! Also she taught me how to curl my hair and how to take care of my hair since it been through so much. I am very HAPPY and SATISFIED with my BEAUTIFUL hair.

Lien has been doing my hair for about a year now and every time it looks wonderful! Color, cut, consultation are all wonderful and thorough! I’ve had balayage ombré done by Lien and it looks fabulous every time!
