History
Established in 1996.
David and Carla Ramey founded Ramey Wine Cellars in 1996. The winery produces authentic, hand-crafted wines made in an Old World tradition, coupled with New World innovation and California terroir. Owned exclusively by David and his wife Carla, grapes are sourced from vineyards with which David has worked for many years.
Meet the Business Owner
David R.
Business Owner
David Ramey is held in the highest esteem as a true innovator, a talented wine artisan and an industry revolutionary. More than 30 years ago, David helped lead the charge away from technically proficient, squeaky clean wines toward natural winemaking methods that embrace the importance of terroir, creating distinctive wines of unique character.
Driven by an adventurous spirit, David does it all, learning, experimenting, traveling the world to experience winemaking methods thousands of years in the making, as well as those just born of curiosity and a penchant for trying things others wouldn’t. Or couldn’t.
David is convinced that greatness never settles, greatness doesn’t react, greatness takes risks and the word ‘safe’ doesn’t belong in a conversation about great wines.
A belief you can taste in every bottle of Ramey wine.
