Specialties
Relish offers cooking classes, culinary tours, private parties, team-building and other unique culinary events that reflect the wonderful array of Sonoma County artisan food and wine.
Our specialties include seasonal events, such as wild mushroom forays, cheese making workshops, Farmers Market-focused tours and classes, canning and preserving, hands-on butchering, and farm-to-table meals.
Our classes are led by talented, local chefs and producers. Most classes include a complete four-course meal with local wine or beer. Participants always take home recipe portfolios.
We pride ourselves in cultivating a festive, relaxed environment where participants enjoy learning about new foods and techniques.
History
Established in 2003.
To explore the level of interest in a local culinary education program, Relish began offering cooking classes at a variety of locations in and around Healdsburg, including private homes, wineries, art galleries, cafes and farms. The concept of the «roving» cooking school was so popular, Relish purchased a 1952 Chevy Panel Truck to transport equipment to the wide variety of scenic and memorable wine country locations where classes were offered.
The stylish Relish Culinary Center was opened in downtown Healdsburg in the spring of 2008, allowing Relish to expand the number and scope of its classes, private parties and other events. The modern farmhouse design is beautiful and functional for a wide variety of events.
Relish supplements classes at the Culinary Center with year-round «roving» classes, including farm dinners, wild mushroom forays, classes and events at wineries and vineyards, and support for local food and wine festivals, including Artisano and the Artisan Cheese Festival
Meet the Business Owner
Donna D.
Business Owner
Donna del Rey created Relish Culinary Adventures to introduce others to the culture of Sonoma County through its locally-produced food and wine, and the colorful culinary personalities who produce it.
Donna’s business background includes more than 20 years in various marketing and business development roles for an industry-leading high tech company. An avid ‘foodie’ and adventurous home chef, del Rey hopes to inspire others. «A Relish event is so much more than a cooking class,» says del Rey. «We combine fresh ingredients, a talented chef with creative recipes, and a beautiful, unique location to create a convivial culinary adventure that, hopefully, inspires participants to be more adventurous in their home kitchens.»
After two decades in the Bay Area business world, Donna and her husband Jim Morris, who is the Director of Sales at Michel-Schlumberger Winery, are a classic example of a great food and wine pairing
