Dashing Dan’s Dispatch

I never write reviews but this one is worth it. I called a taxi from Hempstead to Mineola. When they took my phone call and location they did not even ask for a phone call in case of anything. I waited outside for 30 minutes and surely enough no one showed. When I called back they said they sent someone who must have missed me and that there were no other taxis in the area to get me … I have had taxi services call if they couldn’t find me… Without a doubt I will not be using them again…

I tried calling this service so I could have a ride to Mineola from Hempstead in the pouring rain. I needed to make the train from Mineola to Jamaica. I called Dashing Dan’s and indicated that a driver would reach me with adequate time to make the train. I waited outside for 15 minutes, then I called again, and the person assured me that the driver was on his way. Thirty minutes later, I called again and no one answered. Obviously I missed my train. Not cool.

I was staying at a hotel & needed to arrange rides to/​from work meetings & to EWR airport on my last day. I called the evening of my arrival to plan ride for my 1^st day, around 9:00pm on a Monday. No answer. I called again next morning around 7:00am for 8:30am pickup. This time someone answered & the driver Richard arrived on time. I made arrangement directly with Richard to pick me up at 5:00pm. He said he was the one I talked to on the phone. He then gave me his card. I ended up giving his card to a colleague so she could also use them. At 5:00, no ride. I called the same # I called previously & no answer. My colleague with the card left, so I did not have other numbers. I called another company to come, but Richard showed up before my new ride (which I called back to cancel).
He apologized for being late & that he got stuck in traffic. Since I was not on a strict schedule, I was ok with that, but told him how no one answered the dispatch phone (including the previous night). He sounded concerned & said he would tell the boss. I made arrangements for next day, including an evening pickup with time critical 4:30 pickup to bring me from East Meadow to EWR for 7:30pm flight. He re-​gave me his card so I could contact him directly.
Richard was waiting to pick me up on my second day at my hotel as planned. He also was waiting for me at my work at 4:30pm and got me to EWR Newark airport by 6:00pm for my 7:30pm flight home. He played some nice soul tunes along the way, which I enjoyed. Richard did a gr\eat job and deserves 5 stars.
I gave 3 stars because no one answered the dispatch number 2 of the 3 times I called. Where were they?

Bold name, great service! We called at 2:20am and they came within 10 minutes.
