Nevada Eye & Ear

I arrive for my appointment at this Nevada Eye and Ear location on 04/​28/​2016. I visited them last year, that is why I was returning for my yearly eye exam. However, upon arrival I was asked to show my insurance card. They apparently had not gone over any of the insurance information before I arrived, this was the first mistake they made. Then after receiving my insurance company information they informed me that I did not have eye coverage under my insurance plan. Which obviously is incorrect. I asked them regarding last years insurance that was covered and they had said that was in effect, but it was only 20% off eye services. Which this is also completely incorrect
At this point in time, 30 minutes had passed and so had my appointment time. After their incorrect information about my insurance I had to call my father, who is the main holder of the insurance, to ask him exactly what was covered under our insurance. I notified them and they again were adamant that I did not have insurance coverage. It was at this point my father had to dig around in his files to find the paper that explained that we have eye coverage under our hometown health. He texted me the image and it was only then did they finally realized that they had made a serious mistake. However, by the time all of this had happened it was 50 minutes past my appointment time. I decided that it was best to reschedule and I rescheduled with them for a later date.
Fast forward to the next day, I receive a phone call from their office asking regarding why I had «missed my appointment.» I had to explain to the receptionists that I had been in there the day before and they had messed up my insurance information and I had to reschedule because it was already 50 minutes passed the appointment time. The woman said” Oh you already rescheduled?” I responded by saying «you didn’t know?» and the woman hung up on me after that. This place obviously lacks customer service.
The next day after finding another provider off the website, I called Nevada Eye and Ear again and cancelled the appointment. They seemed to not care just say «ok thanks». I also emphasized that I no longer wanted to be a patient. Again I the receptionist gave me an apathetic attitude. I thought that was going to be the last time I had to deal with this company, I was wrong.
Now today, 5÷14÷2016, I receive a phone call from the other optometrist I had made an appointment with; they informed me that Nevada Eye and Ear still had a hold on my yearly eye exam. Even after I expressed that I did not want to be a patient of theirs. Also I want to emphasize I have not received my yearly eye exam from them. How am I supposed to get new contact lens without an eye exam that they have a hold on my insurance?
This is why I believe the proper resolution for this offense is for them to be censured so that no other eye med customer has to go through the hassle I have already gone through.
Warning do not go this place they probably will give you the wrong prescription that is if they even can figure out how to even properly look up insurance company information.

I called late this morning asking for a same day appointment for a scratch on my eye. They were very accommodating. I came in a few minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork, but before I could even finish I was called in for the preliminary with the nurse. I then barely waited five minutes before Dr. Lorenz came in for my eye examination.
The entire experience was pleasant and professional.
I would definitely come back here if necessary.

My wife took off an hour from work to be told once we arrived that we would have a 3 hour wait. We had to leave because we thought it we would be safe to schedule something else 3 hours after the appointment thinking it wouldn’t have taken that long. The waiting room wasn’t even crowed? Wtf?

the Waite is long sometimes but doctor stradling is a wonderful doctor who takes your eye care very seriously.

I had LASIK done by Dr. Surjeet Singh a few weeks ago. The procedure itself was super easy and short. Dr. Singh is wonderful. He truly cares about his patients and really takes his time to explain options, expectations and after care follow up. He follows you closely after the procedure. You’re in great hands. His staff is super friendly and helpful. They get you in and out of appointments quickly. The day after surgery my vision was nearly perfect. It’s amazing to not have to rely on glasses anymore. I had such a great experience at Nevada Eye and Ear. I would recommend Dr. Singh to all my family and friends.

Review for Dr Surjeet Singh
I first met Dr Singh when I was working with him during my medical school surgery rotation. In the month that I spent with him, I found him to be friendly, kind, and truly interested in the best outcomes possible for his patients. He is punctual and polite, and takes the time to explain the various surgical options for his patients and to discuss the pros and cons of each one. I was so impressed with his bedside manner and quality of care (as well as surgical dexterity) that, when it came time to have my own laser corrective surgery, I decided he would be the one I trusted with my vision.
As a patient, I found Dr Singh and the staff at Nevada Eye & Ear (I’ve been to both locations) to be as friendly and helpful as I had as a student. They sometimes get a little backed up, as all doctors’ offices do, but Dr Singh and all the other opthalmologists there are worth the wait. Araceli, the surgical scheduler, is very helpful when it comes to insurance and pricing information.
I luckily have not required any additional work thus far and hope not to for a long time to come, but if I do, I would absolutely trust Dr Singh and his staff again.

I called in on a Saturday afternoon and got the answering service. I told her of my posible detached retina and within 5 minutes I get a call from Dr Singh, he had me come into the office which he opened for me to perform a few tests on my eye and discovered my retina was only torn, but still at strong risk of becoming detached. So now Dr. Singh calls a friend at Retina Consultants of Nevada who then opened his office at 7pm on Saturday and laser repaired my eye.
That was a fine representation of real 5 star customer service. I could not have felt more cared for. Because of the level of care I received from Dr. Singh I am a patient for life.

I had a very positive experience ant NEE on Pecos. The receptionist was pleasant, checked me and my husband in in a timely manner. Dr. Gasson had a patient with a problem that took him some extra attention — he informed us but still saw us soon after our appointment time. He never made us feel rushed. People need to understand that if they have to wait for a doctor the reason is usually that the doctor is giving his patient the time that he will give you.

I have been a patient of the Windmill/​Pecos clinic for years.
I recently had changed my insurance, and when I called to make my recent appointment I did give them all the info.
I had to wake 3 weeks for the next available appointment, and when I showed up I was told that my co-​pay was $ 150.00 because they are tier 2 on my insurance.
I was like, couldn’t you inform me this when I made my appointment 3 weeks ago?.
They really wasted my time when I could have located another Dr and seen him/​her by now.
I am very pissed off.
I wish there was the option of selecting 0 star.

Beautiful office, plenty of parking, but in dire need of that special touch. Expect to be marginally greeted with «not so pleasant and without a smile» front desk personnel. They really need to have compassion toward the patients for we may be in pain. Hands down, expect to wait at least 30 minutes on your appointment time. When you do get past the barbed wire front desk, the eye technicians are friendly and knowledgeable. Moving through the various office stations gives you a glimpse to how big the facility is. I spent less time meeting with the doctor for my final exam than moving through the entire examination process. However, he was very professional, caring, and explained in thorough detail the results of my exam, eye condition, and treatment. I am not confident that I will return to this location, though, as this organization has other offices where you can be treated. Or perhaps scratch this organization altogether and find another doctor. Food for thought.

I, unfortunately, got something in my eye this morning and ended up in the hospital as a result of it. The ER Doctor wanted me to follow up with Nevada Eye & Ear ASAP. I called this morning and they got me in right away. I ended up at the appointment an hour early and they even accommodated that also! The staff was so kind and friendly. The doctor and his assistants were wonderful also — extremely professional but also kind and compassionate. It truly was a great experience. In fact, I mentioned to my son, who had taken me to my appointment, that I wanted all of us to start using Nevada Eye & Ear for our routine checkups as well! Nevada Eye & Ear went above and beyond my expectations today. I can’t thank them enough.

This is my second appointment with Dr. Orton. I remain very impressed and pleased with the services I received. My appointment started on time with Rebecca who was outstanding! Dr. Ortin answered my questions and took his time with a detailed response to my examination outcome. It’s refreshing to have such a great experience at the doctor’s office.

I’ve been wearing glasses and/​or contacts for over 15 years and as a professional driver I had to constantly switch from glasses to contacts to prescription sun glasses while driving to see the road better. As most people, I was concerned about the process and what my vision would be like after surgery. Dr. Singh was great. He answered all my questions also explained the difference between LASIK and PRK and made me feel very comfortable. I decided to go with custom LASIK. Prior to surgery I had poor vision with an astigmatism. Now I have ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision and see better than I have in years. Thanks to Dr. Singh and his team for making this an enjoyable experience. I wish I had done it sooner.

2 hour wait! Unless you have all day to waste at the eye doctor, than do not come here.

Called in said I was running late, got there at 15 after the hour waited 13 minutes and was told they would charge me a copay in my insurance, fill out paper work, i was 28 minutes late, and reschedule later for the day. Clearly over booked, understaffed and very very poor customer service. Told them thank you but I will go somewhere else. i have a very tight travel schedule and will study Unilocal before making the same mistake as I did lgoing with this Office. Too much riding on the health of my eyes to put up with arrogant attitude and a business that makes you want to believe that THEY are doing you a favor.

I don’t particularly love the staff but Dr Orthon is absolutely amazing I take my whole family to him he is super nice and patient

My mother was seen by Dr. Manthei today at St. Rose Hospital, he was an excellent doctor in my opinion, he answered every question we had and his examination was very thorough, unlike most doctors who are always in a rush and don’t seem really engaged or interested in your concerns, I felt the opposite about Dr. Manthei.

Go here if you enjoy the following:
— A confusing phone scheduling /​prompt system that disconnects on you and takes you to extensions that nobody answers.
— When they do answer; being placed on an additional hold and ultimately disconnected and hung up on w/​o ever really speaking to anyone.
— Or getting an operator w/​o any personality that tells you that you will have to wait weeks to see a doctor.
— When you appointment arrives expect to wait anywhere between an hour and three hours before the doctor actually see’s you. Bring a book or a sleeping bag to take a nap.
— Being rushed in and out by the doctor after waiting so long to see him/​her.
— Being up-​sold for services that you do not need.
— Being over-​billed for services you did not receive.
Happened to me, had to call and actually fight to have charges removed for services that I never received. Eventually the charges were taken off after multiple phone calls. This place is too big and too chaotic for me. Have better things to do than wait hours in your waiting room. Actually witnessed some senior citizens lose it on the front desk staff over the excessive waiting. Also, clean that graffiti from the wall in your men’s bathroom too. Not a good look for this nice neighborhood. Been there a long time. Also need to update or clean the furniture in your waiting room. It’s old and weathered.
I was a patient at both sides of this doctors office. I saw the ENT and Opticians. I saw the allergist several times. I had hearing tests performed. Ordered custom ear plugs. Looked at frames for glasses etc. I was equally as frustrated each time I came to see a doctor here. This was a systemic problem that plagued both sides of this office. Just felt a bit too big and chaotic for the staff to properly handle /​address.
Long time patient that’s finally just fed up… going elsewhere.
EDIT: the owner and doctor of this office responded to my review quickly and apologized for my experiences here. He said that he will be personally addressing each issue stated above. Nice to know that he is reading and responding to these reviews. Very professional on his part.

Went here last year close to New Years. The office was opened but the staff resented it. Unhappy faces were accompanied by rude comments made by the girls checking patients out. Was my first experience — can’t say I’d like to go back in the near future. The doctor I saw had no interest in me or my eyes.
Two stars because the women (note the different terminology used is on purpose) at the front desk at least smiled when checking me in.
