The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa

The room was nice. You can go kayaking on the lake which was fun. Scott was nice. The shuttle was nice to take to get to the Vegas strip. Just make sure you put your name down and how many are going in your group so you can be at the strip at the time you want to be there.

Lovely resort, kayaking, paddle boarding for a small fee, pools and several onsite restaurants of which we only tried the pool restaurant which was excellent.
Service was nice and there is an onsite laundromat. Only drawback is that it is far from the more urban parts of vegas

It was late at night and I had mistakenly asked the taxi driver to drop me off at the Hilton instead of the Westin. Once I realized my mistake, the Westin kindly sent their shuttle to pick me up. Kudos to their front desk staff.
Room: I had a standard king bed room booked via Groupon. The room looked a bit outdated compared to the rest of the resort, but the bed was comfy. They also provide complimentary bottled water provided each day which was perfect to battle the heat wave. One minor critique: the bathroom has an odd design where the towels are located on the opposite side of the bathtub.
Activities and Amenities: I went to the pools the moment they opened at 8AM and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Once it got too hot, I switched to kayaking (included in the resort fee). That was one of my favorite activities. In the evening, there was a wonderful performance by guitarist Ricardo Griego at the Arabisque lounge and an outdoor pool screening of Frozen. The next day I took a walk around the property and the golf course and stumbled upon more than a dozen rabbits!
Restaurants:
Marissa Steak and Sushi was delicious. I ordered off of their happy hour menu and the best item was the snapper crudo. My spicy miso soup also had huge chunks of lobster.
Marrakesh Express: If you’re on a budget, you can get a relatively cheap breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus Starbucks drinks.
Sandsa Bar & Grill: Great service. Delicious frozen cocktails. Overpriced food. They open at 11am, but I wish they opened earlier.
Overall: If you’re just looking to relax and chill, then this is a great resort. I would like to return, perhaps in May or in the Fall when it is less hot.

So we have stayed at this resort 3 times prior to our visit this past weekend. I decided it would be great to include the entire family to celebrate Father’s Day together. I reserved 5 rooms under my name. Upon my arrival I went to the front desk and provided all the names for the additional rooms to make things easier-​What a mistake. Upon my brother in laws arrival he explained that he had 3 of the rooms, which they found. He noted that he was paying for all and that no one else was to provide a cc#. His mother and father in law were one of those rooms. When they arrive they Front Desk Agent took there cc# as well. When all room keys were distributed on set was for someone else’s room, not in our group of 5. Then duplicate keys were given out and someone else came into one of the rooms while it was occupied-​not very safe…
Upon check out my brother-​in law was then charged for 4 rooms!!!
The 4^th room we had was also double billed for Valet parking.
If that wasn’t enough-​none of our 5 rooms had Duvets on the beds, instead top sheets were «placed», not tucked, nor made under the comforters.
My room had holes in the main drapes so when the sun came in at 6am rays of light shone in to wake us much earlier thane desired.
It is a shame that I had to write this review. The pools and cabana areas were great thus saving a zero star rating.
I am in the Hospitality Industry and have several options in the Las Vegas area. The Westin will no longer be that place.

If I could give zero stars I would what a change from last year!!! I don’t even know where to start, the check in was horrible and the girl at the front desk was very rude Mariana was her name. The food at Ricks café was horrible! Couldn’t even chew the prime rib. The room the sheets were just thrown on the mattress, holes in the curtain and dirty and dusty. Worst 281.00 I’ve ever spent! We were charged wrong other people in our party were given keys to an occupied room! To sum it up I will never ever recommend this place to my worst enemy and to think we’ve been coming here since it was a Loews property. I’m ashamed I invited family to join us this time with all this poor poor service at the front desk. Oh and to top it off we were told that getting wrong keys happens all the time in hotel… WHAT??? Really? Mariana you need a class in customer service!

I don’t know what is going on with our recent stays with westin but we have been super unhappy. My wife and I are spg gold members, we arrived in Vegas for a day for business. We have stayed twice before at this hotel and really liked it. We checked in and all was good ubtil ee arrived at our room. The comforter was stained, the bathroom was dirty, then while my wife was brushing her teeth, a strong smell of marijuana was emitting from the sink. Since the bathroom plumbing is all connected, someone somewhere must have flushed or disposed of marijuana in the sink and it was backing up to our sink. I called the front desk who said they would alert security. We will never stay at that hotel ever again.

Lake Las Vegas is a good little ways away from the strip which is a bummer if you want to go out at all while you are in town. With that said its super relaxing, well maintained and family friendly. We had a great time just laying by the pool and having some drinks but if we were here more then 3 or 4 days I could see if getting a little boring.

Stayed here over the past weekend. Hotel is very nicely constructed. I am planning a wedding here this fall and very excited to stay a few days longer but our test stay was nice. Hotel staff all very friendly and accomodating. Room was clean and good size. I think the hotel could use some updating of common area furniture as I did see some broken furniture. We ate at Ricks café and it was good. The Lotus court area is a chill location to have a glass of wine. There was live music Thursday night and he was talented.

Probably the worst Westin experience coming from a 6 year Starwood member. The overall feel you get is that management doesn’t care. Pools were murky with trash littered all over. The hostess at Rick’s café could barely muster a few words when we were asking about the menu and seating. The rooms were very worn. It was so bad we called corporate to cancel our remaining 2 nights and booked another hotel near the strip. The only bright spot was the concierge /​valet staff. They were very quick, accommodating, and had a great attitude.

Best stay ever. I must say that this is now going to be our favorite new spot. Started out by check in and they were so great, upgraded us to a lake view which was very nice. When we got to the room everything was very clean, just like the actual resort which has the most amazing lobby (so beautiful) right when u walk in u see the lake. It was pretty warm though in our room so we cranked down the AC, however I think it might have been broken because we had it on the lowest setting the whole time and it still wasn’t very cool. The pools were our favorite part… They have a kids pool and grown up pool, by the kid pool they have a little sand/​beach area. Where u can also try out a kayak or paddle boat. Both pools are nice and warm and very big even when busy, there is a water slide but u can hardly slide down it, u might have to push urself. Even in the kids pool u are able to drink ur alcoholic beverages. It was great because I got to get my niece a virgin strawberry daiquiri, while mine was alcoholic. There are life guards on call as well. At around 800 they had Rio 2 playing at the pool on a large screen. It was amazing to be in the pool on a warm night watching a movie! We had gone to Ricks café for dinner that night, had the most amazing wings, and bacon crusted ribs ever. Right outside the doors to this café we played life size checkers and we played corn hole. They also had ping pong and life size chess. We tried room service for desert which was great, chocolate lava cake however I don’t recommend the crème brûlée as it tasted like we were eating an egg. The breakfast buffet was alright. Overpriced for the options but the food was delicious. I think that what really made this place so great was the service. From the time we checked in til the time we checked out everyone we talked to was very nice and so pleasant which is so hard to get now a days. They even let us have a late check out. We are definitely going to be planning more and more stays here !!

I was looking forward to my stay at the Westin for Mother’s Day. I was happy they allowed me to check in early with no issues and the lobby was clean nicely done. However you can tell they did their best at a redesign with a Moroccan vibe but there are still hints of previous design. No big deal but then my room was below satisfaction with one mattress pad on one bed and the other missing and hairs in the bed. It took forever for housekeeping to come remake the bed. The carpet was dirty if you walked barefoot your feet would get black. Lastly I called the concierge around 9 pm asking for a do not disturb sign since there was none to be found in the room. I said please put it on the door but although they said they would next morning no sign. Also, was awoken early am by a dog barking loudly.
Also, the cashier in the convenience store told me to enjoy the indoor jacuzzi since it was raining but there isn’t an indoor jacuzzi… lol The bathtub didn’t drain while showering which is disgusting. Room 6142. Blackout curtain had numerous holes and the room was very dusty.
Disappointed was really looking forward to a relaxing weekend away.

Thank you guys for making my birthday trip phenomenal for the second year in a row. My fiancé surprised me by booking a room here for a staycation knowing how much I love relaxing at your pool.
Marianna was amazing at check in acknowledging our special occasion and sending us some champagne to enjoy.
We love your pool. Perfect temperature. Service is awesome. We love that the hot tub is open till 10:00 pm. We had the chance to enjoy it this time around :)
We also enjoyed Rick’s café as well as Arabesque. Everything was clean and service was efficient.

We wouldn’t have been looking at any hotel off the strip when staying in Vegas, but a friend was getting married here this last weekend, so we decided to stay at the Westin to make it easier.
The rooms were decent, what you would expect for the price. The pools are what really impressed me. There are two pools, one with a slide, and one by the bar. There are enough lounge chairs that you can find an open one even on a busy afternoon. Although it was a little windy, the hotel itself seems to shield the pool area from any inclement weather, which was a nice surprise. The pool drinks are DELICIOUS — better than average. They are a little pricey for a single drink, so get a half pitched for $ 25, which will give you about 3 drinks, instead of ordering 1 for $ 12. The Peach Collins was refreshing on a hot afternoon and the Miami Vice was the perfect blended drink for sipping on poolside.
The staff was phenomenal. They were accommodating at every encounter, and were truly looking to make our experience memorable. When we ordered room service, they were incredibly nice about going through our options on the menu.
Word of warning — they do place a $ 75 hold on your card for incidentals, not a big deal compared to some other placed. Overall, I would 100% stay here again if I was looking for warm weather away from the constant craziness of the strip, which is about a 25 minute drive away.

Awesome service, loved the white sand beach on the lake! Beautiful landscape, pools, lake and mountains make the scenery a dream come true.
So nice to relax and unwind here… kids loved the pool, fire pit s’mores, food and canoeing on the lake!
Comfortable beds and I love the Westin dream showers! The fiancé loved the drinks and the hot tub! We will be back.

Beautiful hotel and landscape. At night they have several firepits burning around the lake. It’s a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. You can just relax by the fire and gaze off into the night sky while enjoying a cigar or cocktail. During the day you can also paddle around the lake in a canoe or kayak.
The rooms are spacious and clean on par for most westin hotels.
It is a hike from most of the entertainment in Las Vegas but a great place to go if you just want to get away from it all.

I’ve stayed here quite a few times; it’s been great for play and work. Absolutely beautiful Moroccan style hotel; expansive, elegant lobby is on the 4^th floor with plenty of spread out seating.
Valet is complimentary and convenient. There isn’t a long wait for your car here which is nice.
I personally love the peace and quiet away from the strip. The views are beautiful
And there is so much to do here. There’s a small beach on a lagoon, sand and all. You can pick up a kayak here and go for a ride. There’s a large pool and hot tub surrounded by private cabanas. There’s also the nearby little village to walk around and explore– modeled after a European village right on the lake; so quaint, and a few great places to grab lunch.
There’s also a nearby casino for those that want to get in on that crazy action.
All within walking distance.
The only thing this hotel is missing is a clubroom! I’m hopeful they will have one someday, but in the meantime, SPG Platinum members are offered breakfast at Rick’s café as their stay amenity.

I chose the Westin over other locations mainly due to convenience of location over amenities. Since I was competing in the World’s Toughest Mudder over the weekend, I was pretty sure that after 24 hours of physical exertion, no sleep and traversing 50+ miles of water, dirt, hills and obstacles, I really wasn’t going to feel like doing any extra to get to my hotel room. So I needed something close, clean and reputable. I stayed the night before and the night after.
The room was definitely clean, A/​C worked well, showers/​bathtub were great. The rooms had a a coffee maker, Starbucks Pike’s Place Roast coffee, plenty of lighting and free Wi-​Fi. What it didn’t have was a microwave or a refrigerator, which you can find down the road at their competing Aston Montelago Village Resort.
Additionally, the hotel had a couple decent restaurants, a beautiful lobby and lounge (with bar), ball room/​event center and friendly staff.
Their rooms and elevator system is kind of weird, even though the elevators go to the same floors, not all the rooms are located on those sections of the floor, so I ended up in the wrong wing a couple times (especially post WTM when I was exhausted… plus a Dogfish 90 Minute IPA) so this could be a little confusing. I guess it pays to pay attention to what the staff is saying when you check in.
Aside from that, the rooms were very clean, the views were great, I had a lake view each time and although I didn’t indulge it as much as I should have, it was definitely a pleasant view.
The lounge and bar were nice, the beer pricing wasn’t as bad I expected it to be and I think I had a Doigfish 90 Minute IPA for about $ 6.50-$ 7 which is pretty fair for hotel pricing.
I only had the «Carb-​load» Pasta/​Pizza buffet before and after at Rick’s Café which was $ 14.99 and it was so-​so, nothing too special but when you’re hungry you’ll eat just about anything. However, the restaurant itself is very nice.
If put in the same situation again, I’d definitely stay at the Westin again, even though there are a few necessities missing (microwave/​fridge) I can easily overlook them because everything else is more than adequate.
Suffice it to say, I’m a fan.

I stayed here in February while I was attending an ECRM show that was housed in the hotel, and I was incredibly impressed.
First, the hotel is located well out of the way from the hustle and noise of the typical Las Vegas area. You wouldn’t even know that you’re right around the corner from Las Vegas, as there is no gambling or anything similar in the hotel. This place is strictly meant for relaxing and resting.
When you get to the hotel, you’re greeted by a friendly staff and a beautiful entry way. Their check in process in pretty seamless, and I was in my room in no time.
My room was such a wonderful highlight of my trip. It had essentially two sections– a separate sitting area, and a bedroom/​bathroom combination. Each section had its own patio door and subtle balcony for you to look out over the pool and the beautiful mountain scene, which offered some clean, crisp air at all times of the day. My room was always kept clean as well.
For the pool area, it was amazing as well. I didn’t swim, but I did dip my feet in the pool and I sat outside in the lounge chairs, and I loved it– so relaxing.
As far as the food goes, everything for the ECRM show was catered by the hotel and all the food was great. The staff was also EXTREMELY courteous and nice– certainly an extra bonus.
Even though I was on a business trip here, I definitely had quite a bit of relaxation, and I truly enjoyed my experience.

Reviewing this place from the point of view from someone with a young family. It is a great place to get away for a day or two. We enjoyed the resort Sunday-​Monday. It was quiet and at time felt like we had the resort to ourselves. There are two large pools (one for adults and one for families) a small children’s pool (1 foot deep), water slide, full sized basketball court, kayaking, beach, and family fun center.
This is a very picturesque resort, where you can enjoy the sunset, sunrise, and the view of the water. I love taking pictures and my photos here came out beautiful. Talk about #nofilter.
I wasn’t too impressed with the maintenance of the property. I’m guessing someone had a wedding there Saturday or Sunday because there was still trash (lots of rose petals and fans) on the ground near the garden area. It was still there Monday when we left. The bugs were disgusting, but a bit of expected when you’re near the water. Opened the window in my room and bugs were flying in, hiding in the curtains and the ceiling. So much for fresh air… There was a daycare looking/​kids center on property the looked abandoned. The small, outdoor play area was disgusting and I wouldn’t dare let my son play there. There was plenty of cob webs and old cigarette butts there.
I wish there was better lighting outside for evening strolls. All of the staff were nice and friendly. Did not get to thoroughly enjoy some of the amenities here like the kayaks and water slide. They were kind enough to waive the $ 29 resort fee.

I have stayed here twice, first exactly two years ago and again this past weekend. I actually love the setting and the view by the lake, which is great for rest and relaxation away from the strip, and at times very photo worthy but well within reasonable driving distance of the action. And for me, the price couldn’t be much better. They are also pet friendly (see photos) which is huge for me, being able to bring my pooch (don’t leave home without him!)
Note there’s no casino in LLV anymore which was kind of a bummer because it’s some good cheap entertainment when you want to burn some nickels and get out of the hotel for a little bit without going far. Yes the old LLV Casino was pretty cheesy /​small compared to pretty much all others. But it was something to get your quick fun on, and maybe win a few bucks. Now there’s nothing to take its place. I ended up driving /​stopping over to the Fiesta Casino twice, which is about 15 minutes away and that was pretty decent but not super convenient to here.
The nearby Lake Las Vegas Village (adjacent to the Hilton) is intact since my last time here, and has several restaurants and a few shops, but all food closes at 10pm. I hung out there (Auld Dubliner) to have a beer til 11:30 after arriving but was starving and didn’t want to go back to the limited room service, so I ended up leaving and driving 15 – 20 minutes to another place which has food. The local golf course has reopened since my last stay, so you can enjoy this also if it’s your thing. There’s even a small driving range.
The per day resort fee is pretty ridiculous, as I didn’t use a single amenity during my stay, and actually didn’t even anticipate using any but was expected to pay this anyway. In fact, I tried to print some event ticket from the business center on Saturday afternoon before leaving the hotel, only to see that I’d be charged hourly to use the computer for all of 5 minutes. So I couldn’t even do that and gave up. Shouldn’t a $ 25 /​day resort fee cover that? It sure did when I stayed at Westin Las Vegas (their other local property).
The worst part of my stay that there was NO refrigerator in the room, and instead, only the world’s smallest ice bucket (roughly the size of a can of coke and some ice). This was totally ridiculous, as I was forced to go out and physically buy and haul in my own small cooler and ice to keep drinks and snacks cold for 2 days, then carry it home. There are also no screen doors on the patios, which meant you couldn’t really open your sliding door facing the lake and enjoy the air or breeze for more than a few minutes, because there’s a big sign saying bugs would get in.
TV in the room was pretty fuzzy, on all channels, which was a downer. Though I was able to watch a little bit on NFL football on Sunday morning with no problem, so I guess that got resolved somehow during my stay. Also the free Wifi was not bad, though I had a bit of a weak signal on my tablet device and couldn’t really browse unless I moved near the door. However it worked a tiny bit better on my phone.
There was free Starbucks in the hotel in the morning if you know where to look. Head towards the restaurant in the morning and it should be planted right outside. The hotel also has a bar with a small menu, a coffee shop, boutique, and maybe one other place I can’t remember.
There was a room safe, but I had a hard time finding it since it’s hidden rather than in the closet. There is no binder or list of features in the room to tell you where to find things, or hotel policies /​phone numbers or anything else. Luckily I was familiar where everything, including pet walk areas are, so I was able to find these no problem. Definitely need the flashlight feature on your phone if you decide to wander around the property after sundown with no city lights to help. It’s really dark…
When I checked in, they gave me a lakeside view instead of a courtyard view which is kinda cool I suppose, but then they said they didn’t have a choice of a King or Double bed (just double). Originally I was dead set on a King, so this was almost a big problem. But luckily for them I had a friend deciding to crash with me on night 2 so the double bed worked out slightly better. However, it’s not what I requested during booking so be aware of this! Yikes.
They do have a shuttle service to the strip (sister hotel by the LINQ), but I didn’t use it this time since I had a car at all times. And the Westin strip does have a standard sized casino that I kind of like, with sports book too. See review from 2014 for more info.
Valet is $ 15/​day and self park is a pain, I ended up really far two nights in a row.
Unfortunately I probably won’t be staying here again, because it’s sort of worn out it’s welcome and usefulness for me. But I might check out the Hilton next door if I really need to get away from the city lights and still bring my pet with me. Walked around there and seemed really nice.
