YEE: All Artsy, No Fartsy @ Wine and Canvas

Even though my painting skills resemble a 3^rd grader’s artistic skills, I still like to pretend I’m Picasso. This was my second time taking a painting class. I had taken a class at a different venue before so I felt comfortable attending this event.
For our dinner, Slidin Thru provided food for us. It’s been several years since I’ve had Slidin Thru and it was OK at that time. I went with the lobster slider and regular fries. The slider had huge buttery pieces of lobster. So good! I wish I could have had more. The fries were a bit soggy though but it was good enough for me to finish them.
The painting of the evening were two wine glasses spilling wine in an upward motion with a squiggly heart shape connecting them. I can have the attention span of an ant sometimes. Most of the time, the instructions were clear but I got lost during the measuring part so I visually followed the instructor instead.
Overall, it was a fun, relaxing evening! Something about painting is soothing to me. I had a good time chatting and meeting Cassandra. I saw two of my Team Fontina teammates Mike & Samantha again. I also met Eric, Brooke, and Jill. Good times and good laughs to be shared. One of the Unilocalers accidentally dipped their paint brush in his wine and another Unilocaler dropped their painting. Watch out for that wine! LOL.
Kudos to another fun event thrown by Nate. Good job to Slidin Thru for pushing out all those sliders and fries as quickly as possible. Thanks to the Wine & Canvas staff for allowing us to paint, take our masterpiece home, and even throwing in a raffle contest for professional paintings done by the staff.

Had so much fun at my second Unilocal elite event! Before we started painting, we were welcomed with awesome Unilocal swag and wine. Can’t get much better than that if you ask me, but the night continued to get better!
Slidin’ Thru food truck was conveniently parked right outside to feed all of the hungry eliters. I haven’t had Slidin’ Thru before, but what told by others that it was really good. Because we were seated at the far end of the room, we sat and chatted with other elite members while we sipped on our wine. Everyone was very friendly and the conversation was flowing like the wine!
When it was our turn to get food, I got the slider with onion straws on it (forgetting the name), but it was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Slidin’ Thru also surprised Erin K. and I with a shared lobster roll which we thought we were going to miss out on as we were the last in line. The lobster roll was by far my favorite. A lot of lobster meat with delicious ingredients in a freshly buttered and toasted roll. MMMM.
Finally, we got to paint! I am not artistic by any means, but having been to a wine and paint event before, I know it was all about the fun. Surprisingly, my artistic prowess approves when I get a little booze in my system! The painting was not half bad and I thought the staff did a great job at instructing us.

Art is my name but it’s definitely not my game. For how bad my skills are, I still enjoyed my first experience in a instructed group painting event with my fellow Unilocalers. We received accurate, detailed instruction which made the task not as intimidating and will make me less hesitant to try painting again.
After grabbing a chardonnay and a stool, I was between two women, Lalena B. (get well soon!) and Sheila G., whose creativity was on another level compared to mine. Being seated far away from the front board made it too difficult to see what the instructor was doing, thus more likely to fall behind. I’ll just remember to sit closer next time.
As far as food, I got to try three sliders: Plain Jane, Yaya, and Porky. The Yaya was my favorite. Tzatziki, feta, red onion, vinaigrette, lettuce, and tomato are a winning combination. With a full stomach and a glass of wine within reach, I completed my painting. It was great to see the creativity of everyone else after we were finished. I’m definitely looking forward to the next painting experience.

I liked this event a lot! What a fun, unique time for E. Unilocalers!
We walked in to a large room set up in rows lined with canvas and paint. We got to collect some Unilocal swag, grab a glass of red or white wine and take a seat. The set up to paint was all laid out for us which made painting super easy and convenient. The aprons were on hand so we didn’t have to worry about getting paint on our clothes, and all the paint colors we needed were available along with several brushes and a cup of water to clean them out.
Although I am not the best painter, I did create something similar to what the instructor demonstrated for us. It was a little challenging here and there trying to follow his direction but nothing that I couldn’t handle. I appreciated that he went over steps more than once and had creative ways to measure distance by using different parts of the paint brush.
I haven’t had Slidin’ Thru in a long time and I was so excited to see they were catering our event! I ordered the special for the day, the lobster roll and it was amazing! Nice healthy pieces of lobster, crunchy celery, not too much mayo on a buttery bun. I could have eaten five more! The weather was pretty warm outside, so I waited until the crowd had cleared out before going outside and putting in my order and didn’t have to wait to long to be served.
I appreciated how well run this event was and how organized and easy the painting process was by having everything we needed right at our fingertips. I have never been to a wine and canvas event before but have thought about trying one so I am glad I was able to have that opportunity through Unilocal.

I have been to a wine and paint party before but it was inside of a PT’s so this was a nice way to check out a new place.
We received some pretty cool swag upon check-​in to the event. Thank Jeebus there were also plenty of bottles of water because it was very hot outside that day.
Shortly after checking in, we were able to go and order our slider and fries from the Slidin Thru food truck. I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to choose which slider we would like as sometimes events such as this have preset menus. I decided on the Peppep and some sweet potato fries.
Since we were the first to order, we were kind of guinea pigs in figuring out how we they were going to get everything going. So when I received my slider, it was missing the meat. Luckily, they had noticed the mistake by the time I walked back outside and they started to prepare a brand new one for me. I was actually thankful for them completely starting over because my sweet potato fries were burnt and my new batch was just right. Although my burnt first round one fries had some cinnamon and sugar on them while the next batch were naked.
The little mix-​up was truly nothing and did not deter me from attempting my master piece. I had a lot of fun talking with my other table mates about our paintings and giving each other pointers as we went through the instruction. For another paint night I went to with a different company, everything was turned into sexual innuendo by the instructor like calling the paintbrushes penises and such. That situation invited the crowd to be really crass and rowdy. I am not a prude by any means, it just made the painting crowd super obnoxious and I appreciated the calmer nature of this paint night. Everyone was really respectful but still had fun without resorting to middle school locker room humor for every joke.
In the end, I feel like they all turned out amazing. I liked seeing the special spin others put on their final paintings. I was also pleased to find out that they do a «date night» painting where two paintings can be put side by side to equal one big painting. I am already making plans to come back here for a double date to try out the date night painting session.

I think it’s awesome that Nate, Slidin Thru and Wine and Canvas brought this together. I really loved the event! I had never been to a wine painting night before and I thought it was fantastic! I’m not very good with my hands, so painting is not something I’m very comfortable with. That being said, the help we received to guide us through our painting was excellent. He had a lot of great tips and even when I thought I had messed up, it still turned out pretty well since I followed the instructions the best I could.
My art looks great as long, especially if you stand a few feet back.
I also can’t complain about the wine they served. I thought it helped me paint better. I will keep on thinking that as well.
I will say, the one hiccup would be with the food. I enjoyed the food and I was actually really surprised that slidin thru’s whole menu was available to us. I think that’s where it became a logistics issue of trying to get everyone’s food out quickly while serving the whole menu. I expected there to be a few options, so it would be easier for the food truck to cook everything. With having everything on the menu, especially lobster, the cook times on things varied. You throw in the fact that everyone ordered at once and the blistering heat outside and you had some frustrations. They forgot the burger in my food the first time. I didn’t mind waiting and promptly got another slider, but you could tell that it was a big task at hand to feed these hungry Unilocalers.
I hope everyone cut the food truck some slack as I don’t envy trying to complete 45 – 50 orders in such a short time. I liked the pep pep slider I got and they were nice once they realized they had made a mistake. I think in the future, it would be easier for both the food truck and the people if there was a simplified menu. Maybe 2 or 3 options so that food can be made efficiently and quickly.
I definitely am going to check out other events at this location. A date paint night is very intriguing to me. I’m just going to need a little more wine before I’m at Picasso’s level.

I have no art skills, but this was totally fun! I’ve been wanting to try out one of these places for awhile, so this was a perfect opportunity to experience a wine and painting night.
We started off with wine and sliders from Slidin’ Thru. As I love Slidin’ Thru, this was a fab treat. The Captain’s Order is forever my favorite slider. So yum!
The painting part went a little fast for me (but I’m a slow slow slow person when it comes to art). And I totally screwed up the heart, so I had more of an ‘M’. But I sent my mom a pic of my work and she loved it. So it’ll make a great gift for the parents. And it was really fun to try to out. And really cool to see how different everyone’s paintings came out.
Despite my lack of artistic skills, I would totally come back for a date night for girls night. It was definitely an enjoyable experience!

I was a little stressed out for a couple of reasons. 1) going to an event for the first time alone! 2) painting on an actual canvas while being given instructions with no prior experience. Everything turned out great. All my fellow Unilocalers were awesome and welcoming. Have been wanted to check out the whole wine & painting places for a while now so this was perfect! The instructor was awesome and easy to follow. My painting… not as good as the others or the instructors but, I had so much fun doing it. Hey practice makes perfect so I guess I’ll just have to come back for more fun. The food truck was awesome. All the sliders looked delicious, I know mine was. Sweet potatoes fries yummy!!! Can’t wait for my next event! Thanks Nate and Tiffany you guys did an amazing job!

I would absolutely say my painting skills are more Fartsy than Artsy and that’s ok with me because I am no Van Gogh but it’s about the experience right?! The event tonight is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time! I’m glad I came to this event because I had no idea that Wine and Canvas was so close to my home. I actually came on time this time and got to mingle with some fellow Yeeps before all the painting started. Wine was available for those who drink after all it is called Wine and Canvas for a reason. There were canvas holders on top of the tables with paint and brushes set out for painting. We were told to sit where we liked and soon after we received our blank canvas. Initially we received a smaller canvas which was exchanged by the larger canvas that is usually used at Wine and Canvas. Thanks Nate! We were sent out in groups a few people at a time to the Slidin Thru food truck to order our slider. There were about 6 or 7 to choose from including specialty of the day which was the lobster slider. I went with the Barby which was a beef slider with Jalepeno, crispy onion strings and Barbeque sauce. I chose sweet potato fries to go with it. It was so good by the time I turned around to see if I could pay to order more they were gone :(. By the time we finished it was time for our instructor to give us direction on how to create our masterpiece. We were supposed to blend colors around the edge of the painting, create two wine glasses on the bottom and the wine was supposed to flow through the glasses to make a heart, with the Unilocal symbol in the middle. Jamie P and I had quite the laugh creating our painting. Mine went in the complete opposite direction and I took it upon myself to create a totally different painting then anyone else’s. I wound up repainting and using colors of the wine though out the entire canvas. Like I said it’s all about the experience. Big thank you To the owner of wine and canvas for having us, Slidin Thru food truck and Nate for another fab Unilocal event. Even though My art skills are slim to none it’s always a joy to be able to come to these events. I guess that’s why it’s neat to be Elite!

Wine & Canvas is an open space with several community tables set up with easels, canvases, multiple paint brushes, paint, water, and paper towels (there are also aprons available). There’s a small podium for the class instructor equipped with the same materials. They also have a small bar that supplies wine and some cocktails. We had choices of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for the wine portion of our evening.
Our grub was provided by Slidin’ Thru food truck. We received a slider of our choice and fries (Regular or Sweet Potato). I opted for their «Mystery Slider» — a Lobster Roll and regular fries. It was really delicious; one of the better lobster rolls I’ve had! The roll was butter-​toasted and the large pieces of lobster meat was plentiful. I loved the addition of fresh rosemary, too.
Class Successes:
1. Everything you need for the class is set up for your arrival. There’s very little reason to leave your station during class, which is vital to not missing steps.
2. The instructor utilizes a microphone. It was effortless to hear him speak.
3. Measurements are referred to paintbrush parts (the wooden handle, metal piece, and bristles). Great system that made it easy to replicate the painting and especially important for symmetry.
4. The paint was nice and worked easily.
5. Upbeat music in the background added to the fun experience of painting. (Who doesn’t chime in when ‘Sweet Caroline’ comes on?)
Class Difficulties:
1. Our stations (at the community table with stools) were rather small. There wasn’t a lot of table space for our tools or space to move around. I also found it difficult to paint with the way the easel was set up on the table combined with sitting. I ended up having to pick up the canvas and hold it awkwardly to be able to paint the finishing outlines. There was no way I would have successfully been able to do so with the angle it was at on the easel. There was also not enough room on the table to be able to put the canvas flat.
2. There was no sink to rise or wash your brushes and water container or get new water. You’re not allowed to do this in the restroom. The only option was dumping the dirty water into a large plastic container and using a drinking water dispenser to rinse/​refill water. It was very cumbersome, especially when you’re not given time during class to do so.
3. Since there is a time limit for the class, instruction moves pretty quickly. If you’re able to fully understand and follow each step right along, it’s a breeze. However, if you mess up one part or fall behind even slightly, it’s hard to get back. And when you do fall behind, there’s not much you can do to have instructions repeated or clarified, unless you’re fortunate enough to have neighbors that are up to speed. The instructor also doesn’t have the time to walk around and assist.
4. It’s not rocket science, but if you have zero experience with paint, art, or these type of classes, there’s a lot of guessing involved. The instructions are relatively thorough, but doesn’t cover everything. For example, how much water is enough/​too much to mix in with the paint? How much paint should you use? What’s the best way to repair mistakes?
This was my first time painting on canvas. It was also my first art instruction class. Overall, it was a fun experience, however, I’m not sure it’s an activity I’d likely do again. It’s a lot more work than it seems and therefore, not relaxing. As a group activity, it’s difficult to interact with your friends when you need to concentrate on your painting with constant instructions. Personally, I would do better with less instruction and a more relaxed environment (Not sure how that’d fit into these type of class settings).
It was really fun to see everyone’s different interpretations of the painting and the other variations of wine spillage. It was also nice to participate in an activity besides eating and it’s always so fun to get together with my fellow Unilocalers.

It’s only fitting that my 200^th Unilocal review is about a Unilocal event! :) On arrival, we were greeted by the Sliding Thru food truck right at the entrance. Upon getting our burger (it was delicious!) and fries, we started to paint. This was a wine and canvas event but I don’t drink so I sipped on my water while learning how to paint.
It was obvious that some Unilocalers are better painter than others. Although my painting didn’t turn out to my liking, I had a blast catching up with a few Unilocal friends I haven’t seen in forever.

Ive been wanting to do a paint/​wine gig forever now. So when I got my party pass for this elite event, I was pretty stoked!
Check in was at 6:30. Wine and water was available at this time. I got to meet up with Unilocalers I haven’t seen in so long since I haven’t been to any events lately. I did also meet some awesome new Unilocalers as well (Cassandra B, Ed V, Jay A, Jared N, Queenie L, Faye M to name a few). During this mingling time, we were able to try some sliders from Slidin’ Thru food truck. I got the special lobster roll with sweet potato fries. Delish btw!!! But just A LOT smaller than everyone else’s beef sliders.
After the food, the painting started. Our instructor Dominic gave pretty clear directions on how to create our masterpiece. I’m in no way an artist, so I had to follow along pretty closely. Everyone was so intense and focused on their painting, I’ve never seen everyone so serious lol. At the end, everyone added their own touch to their painting and every canvas was different. Bonus, there was a raffle for paintings done by the instructors. And yay, I won!!!
Thank you Nate and Tiffany for setting up this event. I had so much fun and I appreciate everything you do for the LVYelp family. Thank you Slidin’ Thru for providing us with delicious sliders to soak up some of the wine we were drinking. And thank you to the staff of Wine & Canvas for having us!

Last night I learned I am totally fartsy and definitely NOT artsy. I’ve been to other painting parties like this before, but had never been to Wine and Canvas. Three long tables were set up with easels, paint, brushes and blank canvases. A small bar sits in the back corner of the studio and Unilocalers were treated to white or red wine of their choice throughout the night. I personally am not a wine drinker so I chose not to partake, but they do offer specialty cocktails and non alcoholic beverages as well.
Slidin’ Thru stopped by to serve up some tasty sliders and fries. They have about 5 or 6 regular sliders and also a mystery slider. The mystery slider of the day was a lobster roll and I chose that and it was delicious. Large chunks of lobster on a buttery roll, I just wish there was more of it! I also got some sweet potato fries which were tasty as well. I gotta give props to those guys for all their hard work. I know it has to be miserably hot inside the truck, plus it was 110 outside but they still cranked out sliders and fries for all of us hungry yeeps in a reasonable amount of time.
Once we got back inside, it was time for the painting to begin! Our instructor was very good at explaining each step, he was almost too good with his measuring techniques because I was getting confused! Brooke P. and I had some good laughs during this time as we both learned we are not Picasso! What I like about painting is if you make a mistake, you can start over which I had to do a couple times. Eventually I was satisfied with my finished product, and we all took a group picture before heading out. Thank you Nate and Tiffany, Wine and Canvas, and Slidin’ Thru for another fun and memorable event.

Paint party time! What very cool event UnilocalLV and Wine & Canvas! Who knew this cool art studio was here in this strip mall by Penn’s Thai place.
I can’t draw or paint, and I’m terrible at following directions, but our instructor Dominic was great! He guided us step by step and made us look like pretty legit artists. Fun to see all the different and creative takes of the heart & wine glass Unilocal themed piece.
When getting our complimentary red wine, I met Christine, the owner and got to chat a little bit about the studio as well. They hold paint parties couple nights a week. She showed me this month’s calendar. omg they have one this coming weekend painting Honu!!! (sea turtles) I’ve never seen that project anywhere. oh and Dr Who fans… check out June calendar! Pretty exciting!
Before the painting began, we got to socialize a bit. It was a Elites only, no plus ones. Always great to see and welcome new faces, caught up and said hi to a few friends too. We were a pretty large group. Approx 20 fit on one long table and there were 3 tables of Unilocal Elites.
Good move CM Nate having food truck Slidin’ Thru parked out in front providing us with their yummy slider. Nate’s partner in crime Tiffany was there to check us in. I like the Party Pass thing, makes check-​in go so much quicker. Cool Unilocal swag! Portable Unilocal tote bag, and Unilocal pins. I collect them and put them on my lanyard… still have yet to snag «People love ME on Unilocal» pin.

Five stars because Nate awoke the artistic side I never knew I had! This event was a definite change from the norm but it’s all good. My painting turned out super legit. The instructor was easy to follow and incorporating the Unilocal burst was a nice touch.
I was a little jet lagged as I just flew in late last night from NYC so painting at what felt like midnight to me was at least relaxing. I powered through though and enjoyed the wine and the food. Speaking of food, Slidin’ Thru’s mystery burger was a lobster roll. Really good! It should be on the menu always! (Wishful thinking, I know)
Unfortunately, this was more like a solo project than a group one and since I’m still relatively new to the UnilocalLV scene, I didn’t meet or know too many of the Unilocal peeps. It did seem like most of the others at least knew each other. I’m sure everyone had a pretty good time. Shoutouts to the ones I did meet who were sitting near me: Tiffany, Shirley, Warren.

I am definitely going to keep my day job. I’ve never excelled in visual arts as a child but I had a great time getting out of my comfort zone.
The event started around 6:30p as Unilocalers got checked in and Tiffany handed out our name badge. We mixed and mingled… grab some wine… met some new Unilocal friends like Chrisene-​Faye M. and Cassandra B. (hey girls!) or you can get yourself some Unilocal swag! (cute little Unilocal buttons, by the way!)
There were 3 rows of long tables. Each seat had their own easel, paint, and paint brushes. We started off with a small canvas but after when I came back inside from getting my burger, a large canvas appeared in its place. My first thought was, oh shit. I’m intimidated now. I’m supposed to fill up ALL THIS LARGE SPACE?! I’m scared!
Speaking of burgers, Slidin Thru food truck was there to provide us with their yummy goodness. I got the PepPep burger which consisted of a hamburger patty, lettuce, carmelized onions and pickles. We got our choice of sweet potatoes or regular French fries. Perfect portions for dinner as I sip on that chardonnay. =)
Then the start of our one of a kind creation began. I call it «one of a kind» because no two paintings looked alike. It was great to see everyone’s interpretation of their wine glasses and/​or their wine heart shaped design. Our instructor explained everything to us step-​by-​step. But pay close attention and try to focus because if you have a short attention span like myself, you can get lost quickly and easily. In the end, I was proud of my creation and I had loads of fun! Also, I was one of the few lucky ones who won the raffle prize. The painting that I chose was absolutely gorgeous.

I’m lacking in the artistic department but I can follow instructions! For those of mediocre artistic talent, have no fear, you can still create a work of art at Wine & Canvas. This Unilocal Elite Event — All Artsy, No Fartsy — was another fun filled event put on by the awesome duo that is Nate and Tiffany.
The night started off with sliders and fries provided by the Slidin’ Thru food truck. I was relieved and extremely grateful to see that this slider vendor provided a vegetarian option in the form of a caprese slider. The Caprese slider came with eggplant, tomato, mozzarella, and basil and was very tasty. The fries that came with meal were on point. If I ever spot Slidin’ Thru out and about, I’d definitely chase it to get me a veg slider mini meal!
Before I knew it, it was time to paint. Red and White wines were on hand and many a thirsty Unilocaler indulged in the vino. Some maybe too much, because they later dipped their paint brushes in their wine cups! Whoops! Our designated artwork that was our mission to create was a picture of two wine glasses that flowed into a heart. We followed the instructor step by step in the hopes that the end result would look like his. I think we were successful in the goal! Even better, our budding class of artists got to take our freshly painted canvases home. Apparently, my painting is wall worthy because my husband says it’s going up! Yay: D
As always, it was great to catch up with my Unilocal buddies and make new ones. The All Artsy, No Fartsy event at Wine and Canvas was really great for socializing. I met Samantha G. & Marie T. for the first time, finally got a chance to talk with Michele L., and caught up with my former Team Meatball pals: Warren, Jill, and Brooke. Good times. Thanks to Wine and Canvas for hosting us, Slidin’ Thru for providing the tasty food, and Nate and Tiffany for organizing this event!
Unilocal 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #131

I enjoy Unilocal.I enjoy Slidin’ Thru. I enjoy wine. I enjoy painting. Put them all together and you have have a nice Tuesday night.
I have painted with several different painting places around town for the last three years. This was my first at Wine and Canvas though. I like that they have their own place rather than using local restaurants. It lends itself to a more laid back and fun atmosphere. They have some good paintings on display here. From the super simple to the seemingly difficult they have it all. Tonight we painted a wine glasses with heart shaped spills piece. Its fine and some of us managed to put in a Unilocal Burst in their paintings. I would have preferred more of a landscape or something less frilly than a heart. But this worked out OK and turned out nice. I really like the background and how it looks old and weathered. I could see using that for any number of focus pieces to paint in the middle. I’ll have to keep that in mind when I paint on my own. Our instructor made this possible. He was patient and helpful. Meticulous too. I was annoyed at first with his measuring techniques but they ended up working remarkably well.
Working backward, we chowed down on Slidin’ Thru. The special for the night was any slider and fries. I got the Barby (BBQ burger) and sweet potato fries. The burger was as good as I remember it being when I first tried Slidin’ Thru several years ago. The fries were awesome too. There were a lot of us eating tonight and a food trucks staff had to work their butts off to keep up with the time constraints we had. They did alright but there were a few stumbles. Lucky for me I was not stumbled upon.
I had fun tonight. Nate thinks outside the box with these events and I appreciate it. There is so much to experience in Las Vegas aside from food. Painting happens to be one of those activities and one that I happen to enjoy whether it be at a painting class or in my own home. This was a nice departure from the party like events though a bit of wine was still on hand. This was at WINE and Canvas afterall.

Experience: This was my first Unilocal Elite event, and it did not disappoint. I was very excited to attend and loved the «artsy» part of this event.
Facility: The art half of this event was in Wine and Canvas. It’s located in a strip mall. It’s a large open room with very tiny stools with no back and long white tables. Luckily they are super nice and got me a folding chair. There is a small bar in the back that has wine, soda, etc.
They parked the Sliding Thru truck outside for some eats.
Service: When I walked in, Nate and Tiffany greeted me. Nate remembered I had back surgery, so he offered to bring me food when the time came. Tiffany gave me all the details I needed. They were both so sweet, checking on me all night, partially because I was a newby and partially because of my back. They are both such awesome people. My ride was pretty late, and they even came in and sat with me until she showed. Sweethearts!!!
The staff at the Wine and Canvas were also super nice and accommodating!
Food: I really liked the lobster slider, but it was pretty tiny. The fries were hot, but a tad soft from grease. I saw a burger from the guy next to me, and it had feta and tzatiki sauce… it looked so good. Next time.
Overall: I love painting, so loved this event. Food was decent and I enjoyed myself. Marking down, because I did not like the heart/​wine painting, and the fries were not the best. Otherwise, I’m very grateful for being allowed to attend such a fun event. Can’t wait for the next one!!!

I’ll admit that I was more than a bit skeptical about this event. I have very limited artistic ability and this was the very first time since I was in kindergarten that I’ve picked up a set of paintbrushes. I was super intimidated when I arrived and saw a blank canvas staring me in the face as well as the art that we were going to paint. «There’s NO WAY I am gonna be able to do that» I thought. Well, I was wrong! I was only half joking when I announced that I was going to quit my day job and become an artist.
I couldn’t wait to get home to show my husband my work of art. I was and still am beaming with pride. We are big wine drinkers so the fact that I painted a cool wine canvas makes it even better.
I made some great friends at my painting table and we had an absolute blast. It was fun to have great tunes playing while sipping some wine (pinot noir or chardonnay). The instructor wore a microphone headset so there were no problems hearing the instructions. He was also super patient and ready to lend a hand or give friendly advice if you needed it. I took pictures before, during and after to show how my canvas came to life right before my eyes. So cool!
The Slidin’ Thru truck was as amazing as always — how do they manage to make their petite little burgers so tasty? Yum! The sweet potato fries were even better.
This was so much fun and I can’t wait to come back to Wine and Canvas with some buddies. I think the more I paint here the better I’ll get. Thanks for the super fun evening out and thanks for lighting a fire under the «art bug» in me!
