Since 1966 the Hobbs family has installed overhead garage doors and electric openers for builders, homeowners, and businesses.

Cletus Hobbs began Hobbs Door Company and remained active in the business until his retirement.

Through major construction booms in the 1980’s and 1990’s, Hobbs Door Company provided installed materials to many contractors in southeast Virginia. For much of that time, the company manufactured custom Cedar doors.

25 years later, many of those doors are still in service, particularly in Virginia Beach near the oceanfront. In the mid-90’s, steel doors became increasingly popular, and the emphasis switched from manufacturing to service.

As the three sons grew older, they moved to different locations, but carried on the family tradition. The company name was changed to Hobbs Door Service to better reflect the emphasis on the prompt and honest service for which the family has become known.
