please don’t buy a cat from this place. we bought our cat from here. she just died… she had FIP. my friend also got a cat from this place, his cat died with FIP. my cat was only 1year and 11 month. and she started developing symptom when she was 1year and 9 month. i took my cats to three different vet hospitals and talked to several doctors. they came to conclusion that my cat is FIP and she won’t survive more then few months.
initially she told me she will give me a full refund. but after she look at her age she changed her mind and the breeder was saying that she simply doesn’t believe that my cat had FIP. what is she? veterinarian specialist?
this information is directly from my vet.
Cat in FIP usually happens age of 8 month to 2 years old which my cat and my friend cat’s age was. a lots of cats carries or positive to Corona virus. but that doesn’t mean that your cat will get FIP. FIP is highly genetic.
especially 90% cat’s from big groups like her cattery exposed to Corona virus. but depends on the cat’s genetic corona virus mutated to FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which is death sentence for cats.
this breeder will avoid her responsibility on her cat’s health. if anything happens to your cat she will simply deny whatever your doctor diagnosed.
this is quote from her email even after she saw my cat’s diagnostic reports.
«i do not believe your cat had FIP. sorry no refund. your cat had lots of signs of many things it could be. on a contract you are supposed to call me before you put her down.»
In fact, i called her before i put her down. she did not responded to me several hours.
sounds like she’s just making a excuses to not give me a refund. what am i supposed to do? wait for her call back and make my cat suffer and spend thousands of dollars to keep my cat alive just for another day? my cat needed IV, and critical care over night in hospital in order for her to stay without pain.
I was in the hospital deciding what to do. my cat was suffering with ataxia caused my FIP. my cat was in a lot of pain. my doctor suggested the option of putting my cat down or do more diagnostic test on her. but my doctor told me my cat is highly FIP. that day neurological specialist and internal medicine specialist doctor looked at my cats and gave me a diagnostic. and this breeder is denying it. just because she doesn’t want to take responsibility on her cats.
she didn’t even bother to find out who are the parents of my cat so that she can fix the issue. because she simply doesn’t believe my doctors.
just to remind you guys again, if you are considering getting a cat from her. my friend cat died as well. it was a boy and he developed FIP from about a year old.
so yeah. i don’t think it’s a good idea to get a cat from this place. i thought about getting a new kitten. but probably not from her again. she won’t take responsibility nor trying to find a solution for the issue that keeps occurring on her kitties.
i feel terrible for her cats. i don’t think she is taking good care of them nor tracking on them to populated good gene.
i stopped asking her for refund after she ignored several my emails and phone calls. i guess this is how she deal with her customers. all she care about is making money. so please don’t buy cats from her. there are other places that you can get healthy kitties. they might price more but you won’t have to go through this painful experience.
oh additional to me and my friend case, just scroll down and read more reviews. i’m not this only one who had to deal with pj’s shitty attitude toward to her customer who lost their cats not she take responsible for that. no wonder. i should’t read other people’s post before we bought a cat from her.

PJ raises the most amazing cats! They are SO well socialized and have fantastic temperaments. She also offers high-​quality cats for VERY reasonable prices compared to other breeders. PJ is clearly so passionate about raising these amazing cats, and has such a loving personality! The variety of exotic cats she breeds is vast and she very apparently devotes her life to ensuring she raises well-​socialized and happy kittens!
I brought home my male F3 Savannah kitten a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. He is amazing and simply perfect. He has the greatest personality and is so comfortable with both humans and other animals.
I’m sad that PJ will be going out of business due to personal reasons, as it’s so hard to find people so devoted to raising healthy and happy animals.

I like PJ. We took our kids to her cattery and spent about an hr learning about her cat breeds and playing with a bunch of kittens in her office. The whole experience was great, relaxed, educational and fun. We liked some kittens but they were already spoken for so we will have to wait for the next litter.

Way over due review. I meet with PJ in May 2014. I was interested in getting a kitten but hubby was totally against it. I grew up with cats all my life so I know what to expect and how to take care of them. PJ showed me around her enormous backyard and explained to me all the different types of cats in each cage. All cats were feed very well and seem content. PJ also showed me into her office where the kittens hung out. I wanted to take all of them with me. All so adorable. Make sure to make an appointment with PJ to check out the cats. The whole experience was great just learning about each specie of cats.

This breeder sold me a Bengal kitten that had a parasite called Tritrichamonas Foetus. I had a Bengal at home that I bought from a REPUTABLE breeder that was perfectly healthy until I brought the infected kitten home. It has cost me over $ 1900 for medication, vet bills, sterilization of the home environment and new cat boxes and other cat products that had to be replaced. Not to mention the cost of the kitten and dealing with the sickness of my darling cats. Beware because if one kitten has the parasite,…well, just know that it is highly contagious and very expensive. The medication has to be special made by a compounding pharmacy and it is expensive and complicated to get a hold of. I asked the breeder to compensate me for any part of my costs and she flatly refused, telling me it was «impossible.» NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!!! Buyers beware!!! 3÷16÷15 — Progress report — I wish I could find the words to convey to you the complete devastation we are experiencing while watching my, once healthy, beautiful, Bengal, Mixy-​Doodle waste away with this parasite. Her big beautiful eyes full of hurt and despair. Her hip bones now extruding from her poor little body. She looks at me for help and I feel responsible for allowing the infected kitten I purchased from PJ into my home. She is wasting away to nothing. I cry every single day and I pray that something will take effect and help my little girl. She is so sick and fragile. And the poor little kitten PJ sold me has lived with this parasite from birth. His poor little body is so use to having diarrhea that he doesn’t know any different life. PJ, you will never, ever convince me you did not see that this kitten had diarrhea every single day and if you did, you had to know something was wrong with him. Oh, how I wish I never set foot on your doorstep. My little Mixz is so racked with this parasite we still don’t know if she is going to make it and if she does, she will never be the same. You ruined my baby girl, PJ. You wrecked her with your selfishness. I would pay anything in the world to have her back to what she was before this parasite devastated her. How could you? If you had one shred of decency you would never have done this and would never again. I can’t even find the words for the pain, suffering, angst, sorrow, and sadness your actions have caused my family. I will never forget you PJ.

Here we go again. Every few months PJ comes here and claims that I’m crazy, hateful and lying through my teeth. She just doesn’t understand why I am being so unreasonable given how helpful she tried to be. From this latest response let me correct the facts. 1) Before this review, I have posted 4 reviews — all but the initial one in response to PJs looseness with the truth. 2) My kitten was purchased in August of 2013, not 3 years ago. 3) She did nothing beyond offer to refund my money (after I took him to the vet) and ignored all my attempts to get her to respond once I asked her to pay his vet bills for the FHV. Her intention in refunding my money was so she could fix him up and resell him to someone else — making him someone else’s nightmare.
Since my last update, Bodhi was diagnosed with a genetic disorder that predisposes him to a sensitivity to bacteria in his mouth. He was suffering with horrible periodontal disease (nothing I did or could have done would have prevent this — it was genetic and showed up when he got his adult teeth) and had to have all but his four canine teeth removed. This happened in October of 2014 when he was 1.5 years old. The vet bill on this was over $ 1500. In less than two years I have spent over $ 3000 in vet bills for the health and well being of my kitten. I’d happily take the refund of $ 800 to help defray the exorbitant medical bills I’ve had to pay on what was represented to me as «pick of the litter» kitten. However, that has never been offered by PJ.
In the end, I wouldn’t trade my boy for anything. He’s a great cat with a lemon of a body. I never know what is next, but I“m delighted to love him through whatever it is.

We picked up our F4 Savannah on 12÷21÷14 at just under 16 weeks old.
I was initially concerned that with just 2 kittens left (litter of 4); one male and one female, that there might be a chance neither would take to me. I’m such a firm believer in letting a kitten choose you, that although PJ’s was only ten minutes from my house, I was prepared to walk away and wait for a future litter or look elsewhere if necessary.
No need.
The one last male now named «Pistachio» was love at first site, for me. Within seconds of walking into the room he was out and about playing around me. Not so much «with me», but close enough around me that made me feel he was a confident little kitten.
My wife was unable to come with me due to work, so I took some photos and told PJ that I would have to talk it over with the wife before committing. But I was definitely sold on him. So I departed without a kitten and no deposit given. PJ was wonderful about it! This after taking up almost an hour and a half of her time.
A true professional.
Later that evening shared the photos I had taken with the wife and she was instantly in-​love. After I told her what I had observed with the kitten, it was a done deal. Called PJ that evening and assured her we’d take him.
The very next day it was almost as if the kitten knew he was chosen. It was like my ankles were made of catnip! Purring and falling onto his back so I could scratch his belly. Both PJ and I were absolutely blown away!
That brief experience with him made me that much more confident we were making the right choice.
As I write this review it’s now been 2 weeks since he’s been a part of our lives. What an amazing kitten! So smart. So loving. Just an absolute joy to be around.

So I just got my savannah male F3, this Sunday 07÷27÷14. He is so adorable& he is just so sweet. Pj has helped me since the very begging I let her know that I have a 3 year old female cat & she’s very protective of me & my fiancé. She recommended a male savannah. She will hiss at him & make a growl & he just tries & tries to be her friend. We took him to the vet everything is fine. We are already training him w the leash. He is such a good kitty thank you pj

Last year, we lost the last of a pair of Bengals that had been with us for 18 years. After 6 months of mourning, it was time to do a search and acquire a new generation of kittens. The question was where to begin. After having raised high strung Bengals for so long, I was interested in trying a Savannah and during my research, I located PJ’s Cattery through eBay Pets. This cattery is located in a comfortable home the east bay in Hercules, California.
PJ Cattery is a wonderland. They specializes in exotic cat breeds that are hybrids between domestic and non domestic cats. What PJ (Phyllis Reichelt) has developed is her own unique line of beautiful felines. She had many breeds of cats to chose from ranging from Jungle Bobs, to Savannahs to Bengals, HIghlanders, and Main Coons.
I found PJ’s stock robust, healthy, and cattery was well maintained.
I ended up buying a beautiful 14 week old Savannah kitten that has brought my family much joy. The kitten was healthy and playful. A Savannah is a exotic animal with Asian Leopard and African Serval in its bloodline. You could tell PJ gently handled and spent quality time with her kittens, because instead of getting a high strung difficult to manage wildish cat, I ended up with a, gentle sweet well socialized kitten that loves to play and regularly sits on my lap whenever he can. Though the kitten already had many of his shots, I had my vet do a full screening and we found that our Savannah was in perfect shape. The only unusual thing is my Savannah kitten is 11 months old and already is weighing in at 14lbs. He is going to grow to be a big boy.

PJ sold me a lovely kitten at a very reasonable price and I would highly recommend PJ Cattery to anyone looking for a fine exotic cat as a pet and a positive acquisition experience.

I have had my Bengal cat for two months now. She is healthy and beautiful! I loved my experience at the cattery, PJ was so kind and helpful.
My kitten, Ruby, adjusted within hours to her new home and has been sleeping in my bed since the first night. She has been leash trained and loves attention. PJs Cattery is an amazing place with wonderful cats.

My wife and I (mostly me) have been considering getting a cat or dog for a pet. We’ve been weighing the pros and cons of both. So to help us decide we went to PJ’s Cattery the other day to look at the exotic cats that she specializes in.
The day prior to our visit I called to set up an appointment. Upon arriving we met PJ’s husband Marty. Since PJ was busy with other potential «adopters», he took us around to look at the kittens and the parent cats of all the litters. They have a large variety of exotic cats like Highlanders, Maine Coon, Savannah, Jungle Bob, and Bengals. The coats of these cats are so beautiful. They all have characteristics of the wild cats with the leopard prints, the large ears, and the cool polydactyl paws that bob cats have. Some of these cats get to over 30 pounds full grown! It’s like having a small cougar in your house (no pun intended).
After spending over three hours with the cats and PJ, if we decide on a cat this is where we will adopt one. PJ really cares about her cats and actually all animals in general because she has dogs, birds, and fish that she keeps as pets as well. If you are interested in an exotic cat this is a great cattery to visit.
Update (1÷25÷14): A week after visiting my wife an I put a deposit down and in one month we’ll be taking a jungle bob/​Bengal home with us. I’m really excited.

Update: Apparently the cats at this place also have Feline Herpes. Since my boy has never been in contact with cats since being adopted he could only have gotten it as a kitten. I just found out because it took them a while to diagnose it.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CATTERY!

I love this place! Its one of the cleanest and most organized catterys I have ever been to. I bought an F4 female Savannah about 7 months ago and I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but my experience has been so wonderful I just had to. I own two other Savannahs from a different place (1 male and 1 female) and I have to say the markings on my girl, Nala, are far more gorgeous than those on my other two.
Also, it is obvious that PJ not only raises her cats, but also spends time with them. They are all soo sweet! That’s one thing that stood out to me. Anyways if you are looking for beautiful, sweet, and healthy cats, I would recommend PJs cattery anyday! In fact, this is the only place I would trust to buy my cats from and I’m even on the waiting list for a jungle bob from her. :)
Also, regarding the negative reviews on here, anyone who knows about animals, in general, know that there is always going to be a cycle of worms that can possibly go on. It happens in dogs, cats, birds, etc. Its a cycle of life. Fortunately for me, Nala had no problems as such at the time I purchased her and doesn’t now. That’s why vets and breeders have to de-​worm and give animals shots to do their best to prevent these cases from happening. So, even if you do go somewhere else, its never going to be guaranteed that the same thing can’t happen there too. Just something to keep in mind. I do know that, whenever I have any questions regarding my cat I purchased from PJ, I know that I can contact PJ and she will do the best to her ability to help me.
I can’t wait till her new kittens are born in the Spring! :)
P. S. I am studying to become a veterinarian, which is why I have a little background knowledge about the worm cycle in animals… in case you were wondering.

While our cat Samurai, purchased from PJs, has grown into a beautiful and elegant creature, he was sickly and almost died as a kitten (he’s 11 months old now and the love of my life).
Within days of bringing him home, he developed signs of feline Herpes, which ultimately costed over a thousand dollars to treat and he almost lost an eye in the process. It was so sad, poor little guy couldn’t eat or breath — I had to feed him with a dropper for days (which he hated).
Thankfully — as I mentioned — we were able to invest the care and love to bring him back to health.
A second kitten, which we were given free of charge to accomodate, came down with severe symptoms of what appeared to be FIV. Our vet was sure she was going to die, but offered to «adopt» her into the clinic and try treatments. Miraculously the kitten recovered (and now is companion to our vet’s sweet little girl), but the cat still has lingering health problems.
[note: when we were picking out our second kitten, most of the cats we were selecting from had strange abnormal growths and visible ailments which is why we were cautious to take a second cat to begin with but we felt like we were «rescuing» it from that place…].
Both cats had fleas, ear mites and worms upon arrival which we treated as well.
If you’re looking for a reputable breeder, I would advise you to continue your search. It is a very worthwhile investment to think about health, not just «top line» cost. Your little guy or girl is worth it and the emotional trauma of a sick creature (when avoidable) is not worth it for a «deal.»

Love love love our male jungle coon kitty we just got from PJ! Both her and her husband are wonderful people! PJ has a amazing and very clean setup! All of her kitties love her! Our boy is HAPPY, HEALTHY AND ADORABLE! PJ has been lovely to deal with and answers all of our questions without any issue (we have had a lot!) lol! PJ has THE BEST prices for her kitties and I can’t wait to get our F2 Jungle from her next year!

Avoid this place!
My girlfriend purchased a beaut of a Rag-​doll who had some bowel issues and was told it was probably stress or food related. The poor cat ended up going everywhere in the house so she brought him back and was told by PJ that she could take another kitten and she would try to cure him but in actuality nothing was done for the cat and after a subsequent e mail and call, we were told by PJ that she would put him down because she could not sell him.
My girlfriend could not let him be killed so picked him up again and brought him to a couple of vets finding as Sekmet S did the the cat had
Giardia
Ear mites and two other parasites!
He is still being treated and the $ are mounting.
Once the Giardia and one of the other parasites were discovered, an e mail was sent to PJ with no response.

I purchased a Bengal kitty 8 months and he is great. I had the honor to get the pick of the litter and her best Bengal she ever produced. When we first got him he would pee on everything so I called the cattery and asked if we couldn’t get him under control would she take him back and she said she would without any issues. Turns out it was the kitty litter he didn’t like. The cattery is clean and the kittens are cared for with top notch care. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a kitten.

I bought my Bengal kitty about two months ago from PJ.
PJ is super nice and loves these cats like her own children.
My Bengal Leo is awesome.
He DID have a flea or two when we got him home but is in GREAT health and I think that’s generally expected to have a flea here and there
He was flea dipped before he came home and they haven’t been a problem.
He’s in GREAT health and turning out to be a little monster.
I’d give her five stars but the cats seemed a bit hot due to the Hercules weather. I think they should invest in a better cooling system.

Rescued, bred, shown, exotic cats. PJs Cattery has it all. For the rescued, or the exceptional show exotic cats there is no place better, cleaner, more profession than Pjs Cattery. I have visited this facility many times and it has never ceased to amaze me.
I could go on and on and on about how profession, caring, adoring, clean and knowledgeable PJ is, but long story short if you are looking for a Savannah, Bengal, Rag Doll, Maine Coon, Jungle Bob, you MUST visit this cattery!
