Who doesn’t love public pools in the summer? I mean I have made it a goal to become BFF’s with someone who has their own pool as I refuse to actually install my own, but sadly have fallen short of my goal. I have been here twice with one of my BFF’s and have really enjoyed their facilities. The pool is large, they have a toddlers section, which is nice for the little ones, and they also have a water slide and a couple diving boards. I have yet to utilize these as I mostly go to the pool for socializing, sunning, and the occasional jump in to cool down. Crabapple offers a concession stand that serves items such as burgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken, and the like. My advice is to skip that and bring your own food. Last time we stopped at Subway before heading out. The first time I got a burger and fries from there. The fries were cold and hard, and the burger was as well, but oddly enough wasn’t the worst burger I have had including places I have spent a decent dollar on for them. It was only $ 5.00 but I wouldn’t recommend the food. Pack a cooler and head out. I want to note that the first time we came here it was beautiful out! High 80’s sunny and perfect for the pool. The last time, unfortunately it started raining and raining hard about 15 minutes after we got there. We waited it out, lasted about 30 minutes, but were soaked and the sun never fully returned to make me even want to get into the pool. After a couple hours the skies opened again and we decided to bail. As we were leaving we were approached by the manager who after what seemed an awkward conversation offered us rain checks. Mind you we didn’t complain we even said we had a good time just wished it was better weather, but what you going to do? Act of God and all. So I think that was pretty cool of him… Will definitely be back at least once or twice before the end of the season. Schedule: open Daily 12−7pm-$ 7.00 day pass, there is a night swim on Wednesday, not sure of all the diets on that one though…

I live close by and have been to Crabapple on many occasions. The water is usually fair warm and clean. But I do state usually. Admission and pool passes are reasonable, and you can usually find some coupons in the Clipper. It seems that they expanded their snack bar this year to include some newer items. However, don’t expect much. It’s still snack bar /public pool quality. Pros: You can bring your own snacks /drinks inside, cost is reasonable, hours of operation are reasonable. They also have night swim on Wednesdays for $ 3 and sometimes have some bands in the evening on the weekends. Plenty of space around the pool and in the grass to lay out and kids to play. Cons: Not enough chairs /lounge chairs to go around. Staff are friendly enough for the most part, but of course they are mostly teenagers so as long as you don’t expect much. Snack bar food is meh. Overall…not a bad way to spend a summer day.
