Cypress Auto Body & The Magic Touch

Came in to get a quote to get my car painted. Called in twice to let him know I was coming and what kind of car I had and if he did things like this. He said yes.
When I arrived we parked in the front and it was kind of hard to tell that he worked there. I had to approach him. He did not greet us or shake our hand or introduce himself by name or ask us what help we needed. He eventually told me that if he was going to paint my car that it would cost 7k for a Mazda Miata.
He recommended Maaco, which he likened to «JC Penny versus Nordstrom» (him being Nordstrom). As if I don’t shop at Nordstrom, lol? I felt as if he was talking down to me. If I wanted to, yeah, I could have spent 7k painting my car. Did I want to? No, especially not with this customer service. But it would have been nice to actually be treated like a potential customer. Would have also been nice on the phone, when asking about coming in to get a quote, for him to let me know the generic price to save me a drive down or that he mostly did body shop work … because their website made me think that they did a lot of repainting of cars.
Maaco did a nice job but he also sent us in the wrong direction for the location he was talking about. I will give him 2 stars for recommending Maaco to me, even though that was my next stop.

Max is very great! Fair price for a full detail (Int., Ext., & motor) including buffing out scratches for a reasonable price and quick turn around. Recommend.

I have never reviewed any business before, but this customer service experience was so good i had to. I scratched up my car last night and mentally prepared myself for a $ 1000 repair bill. i took it into see Max, and within 20 minutes he not only fixed it but restored it to brand new condition. I would have paid him $ 1000 for that kind of service, but to my amazement, he charged me just a fraction of that cost. this was easily the best customer service experience ever and he has earned a customer for life. thanks max!

Dropped off my car to get its front bumper replaced from hit and run damage. I thought the estimate I got was too good to be true and was waiting for a last minute price hike, especially since it is a BMW and previous places tend to find expensive add ons or tell me my car wilup. Not here.
Dropped off on Sunday night, got a call Tues that it was done. My car is 9 years old and looks brand new — amazing job! The best part… the cost was LOWER than the original estimate. 5 star for customer service and honesty! Much appreciated Max and team!

New to the area they did a fantastic job replacing rear bumper and matching specialty paint on my 2015 Fiat. On estimate, on time and even went to the junkyard when the Fiat dealer said a part connecting the broken taillight was going to be $ 750 — at junkyard the part was $ 5. Would recommend.

I had some bad scrapes and slight dents on my car door, and did not want to report it to insurance. I carefully researched reviews of all the auto body places nearby, and narrowed it down to two that got excellent reviews for quality. I went for estimates. Cypress was the second place, and The owner – I think of him as «Mad Max» for some reason :) – quoted a much lower price, as well as a shorter time frame, than the first place. He was able to take it right away. When I picked it up my car, I was more than completely satisfied. Not only did he repair the door, but he buffed out many scratches all over the vehicle. The car looked like new!

Scheduled an appointment with the owner for an estimate, drove 45 minutes to get there, and he didn’t show up and wouldn’t answer phone. Huge waste of time.
Will take my business elsewhere.

My friend referred me to this place to get my auto body work done after a car accident. The owner, Max, was the kindest, coolest guy… great (actually fun) to work with and completely honest and trustworthy. He made the entire process a breeze. He completed the work on my car so quickly that I wished I had known about him the last time I had work done where they (the other shop) took literally months to complete it! I hardly ever write reviews so if I’m taking the time to write this, that means I HIGHLY recommend Max and his shop.

I’ve used Magic Touch before and Unilocaled it with a weird issue concerning a 1996 Ford Econoline Van. The review is here somewhere, and its 5 stars. I’m a musician and our duo just took my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan on a 5000-​mile tour to Canada and back. On the basis of my previous experience I took it to Max to get it cleaned and detailed.
I want to sell my car it looks so incredibly good and shiny and clean! After I had paid, Max instructed his guy to buff my headlights some more, and sure enough he got off some more grime. That’s twice with the same excellent quality of work. Thanks Max!

I made the mistake of trusting cypress with my car on two occasions despite being dissatisfied with the first visit. Do not take your car here for anything other than minor cosmetic fixes, because beyond that, they are overpriced and my car has not been the same since I got it back from them.

A little scared to find an Autobody shop on my own so I Unilocaled it… Figured I can try to find one with great reviews and my chances are better. After checking out three places, I felt the most at ease with Max at Cypress Auto Body. He explained the process and even recommended me to check if my insurance may help cover some costs. Glad I did since I found out my insurance did cover getting hit in the parking lot even though my car was parked and I wasn’t in the car. Since it wasn’t a moving violation of my doing, there was no points deducted against me — yay!
Took only two days to fix my door and even got a rental to tug around the little one while my car was in the shop. When I got my car back, I was truly happy with the new door and the little ding that started to rust but Max helped get that taken care of too. If I need more work on my car, I would definitely come back and highly recommend all to try Cypress Auto Body. Always looking for small business to support and Max has a great one to help you and your auto body needs.

i took my audi a5 in after the paint got severely scratched on a drive back from the desert. max was great – he gave me excellent advice on what should be done including affordable options like having the car buffed instead of repainted which would have cost much more. very honest and trustworthy. then his team detailed the car and made it look like new! amazing!

Victor helped me out –and an outstanding job! I really enjoyed looking at the beautiful restoration work he was doing on some older cars. Labor of love!

Went to get my engine cover and it was done fast and professionally. They listen to what I wanted to get done and the best part they didn’t over charge me for something simple. It sucks that there not open on Saturday cause if I want to get something simple done I have to go on my lunch hour. I happy that there not to far from my work otherwise it would be a hassle.

My car was hit by someone while it was parked, and I was fortunate the person left a note claiming responsibility and offered to pay for the repairs. I took it to Max after seeing reviews about his business on Unilocal,and he quoted a fair price and even gave the person who hit me a $ 50 discount for her honesty. It was done when promised and the car looks like new. The whole process was very easy, friendly, and just a good experience. I highly recommend Cypress Auto Body and will be back if needed (hopefully not).

Max did a great job on my car. He finished in a few days. I’m not exactly sure how much it should have cost buy my fellow Unilocalers said he’s well priced so I assume I got a great deal. Very professional and located in great area close to me.

Max took care of my car (2013 Lexus ES) for second time in last few months. Someone had rear ended me while parked so I had to pay out of pocket. Max gave me a deal and promised car would be ready the next day. He even drove me to car rental place where they give a $ 24.99 promo for his customers. Max had car ready earlier than expected and had detailed it as part of service. Thank you Max!

Someone scratched my 2013 white BMW and left a 3″ long deep scratch on my car door. I called cypress body shop and spoke with Max the owner. Max is nicest and most genuine guy. Felipe who works with Max fixed the scratch in 20 minutes without having to re-​paint the whole door. My car looks brand new again and I’m very happy with the results. And the service fee was perfect and super reasonable.

MAX IS THE BEST!!! I cannot say enough great things about this place. I would not trust any other place to work on my car. I literally bring my car here no matter what the issue is to get Max’s opinion before taking it to get fixed.
His prices are awesome and the service is awesome. I had to get my side mirror replaced one time, and his quote was less than half of what all other shops were quoting me. On top of that, he got it done in half the time!
I recently dropped off my car on Friday morning and it was totally fixed AND washed by Monday morning. He even touched up some minor nicks and scratches around my car for free.
If you need any kind of body work, this is the place to go!

I just realized I kept putting off posting this well-​deserved 5-​star review, so here it finally is…
Over the last several years I’ve taken three cars to Cypress – two with bumper issues and one with a dented and scraped rear panel and every single time the repair has been perfect, the paint matched exactly and I left a happy customer.
Max is a stand up guy and when I had what I thought was an issue with a repainted bumper last summer, he offered to redo the job without question. As it turns out, after the bumper was removed it was clear the issue was not at all the fault of the stellar team at Cypress, but Max – insistent on sticking to his word that he’d take care of it – still redid the paint job at no cost to me. That’s not the kind of service that I’ve found at a repair shop anywhere else in the south bay and that honest approach to dealing with customers is why I have continued returning to Cypress again and again whenever I find my car unfortunately needing the TLC to get it looking brand new again.
