I had already vowed not to shop here anymore because of terrible customer service, but, unfortunately, I went in yesterday to grab something out of convenience. I bought a beauty blender and when the owner checked me out he said it was $ 27! I know these usually run around $ 20 and I mentioned that but he just ignored me and I bought it because I was in a rush. When I got back to the car I checked Amazon where they were $ 20, but then I checked on the Hermosa Beauty website and they were listed for $ 18.95??? I went right back in and confronted him on why his own website listed the product for $ 18.95 and he had just charged me $ 27? He said «oh, we’ve raised the price.» I will never shop here again. This guy is so dishonest.

I have fine hair, and it’s very difficult to find the perfect product to manage it without looking crunchy or loaded with gel. The owner is a very friendly, super helpful man, and had me try his own product, Hush Mud Light, and it’s amazing. Best stuff I’ve ever used. My hair is spectacular. Can’t recommend Hermosa Beauty enough.

As a hirsute braddah, I need some help with that braidable hair dat grows out of your ears/nose/eyebrows/eyeballs…(well soon I’m sure)…
Anyway, the owner there was wonderful, educational, polite and fast. This hair problem went away with his help in ten minutes. He’s collected some rough reviews, but this is a good one. They need to balance this stink-​talk outa-​here!

I am really not one to write a nasty Unilocal review and snub a small business, but this place really takes the cake for very negative experience, and I feel the need to warn other potential customers to not give them your business.
I decided to pop into Hermosa Beauty Center for a quick retail fix, buying some violet toner-​shampoo and some false eyelashes, nothing that was a huge deal. The man behind the counter ran my card once, and said my card didn’t go through, and then once more– approved. I did not ask for my receipt. I walked away thinking I had paid $ 29.41. When I checked my bank statement later that evening I noticed I had been charged twice. I called this business the next day, and said I thought I had been mistakenly charged twice, and a man on the other end of the line snapped «You go to your bank with that. I didn’t charge you twice.» And hung up. I called my bank and they informed me that I had, indeed, been charged twice. I went into the store, showed the man who I had talked to the products I had bought and my bank statement, reminding him I didn’t ask for a receipt.
He proceeded to tell me that from what he understood California is having phone line problems and that the banks are corrupt and had my money. And that he didn’t have my money to pay back because the banks had been paid my money, and he would not refund me.
Amidst all of this, he also told me that he didn’t need my business. This was probably the worst way I’ve ever seen something like this handled, I work in retail so I’ve seen it and dealt with it myself. Don’t come anywhere near this place.

I am actually not in the beauty industry at all, hence not knowing much about extensions prior to getting my hair done by Char. i can go back to my bank statements and give you an exact date that I left the deposit. I find it hard to believe you don’t have record because I used my Visa card. People do often spell my name with a «C» by mistake so you may wish to check that. I am not one to post negative reviews but I would not want anyone to go through what I did with Char. This was about a year or two back so hopefully she has learned a few things since then.

I wish I knew the name of the sales associate with whom I always deal when I shop here – she goes above and beyond. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, and knows EVERYTHING there is to know (and then some) re. where to go in the South Bay for all things beauty – on any budget.
She’s definitely the one and only shining star of this business, though. To say Hermosa Beauty marks up their merchandise would be 2011’s greatest understatement. I have never paid so much for my already-​pricey Kerastase hair product (and won’t again, when I can purchase it from my stylist at a much more reasonable rate). Hermosa Beauty does have an extensive selection of the best brands for hair, skin and nails. Their make-​up selection is pretty mediocre, and I’m a Sephora girl when it comes to make-​up shopping, anyway.
Basically, if you need a beauty item right away and/​or don’t mind spending extra money and dealing with lackluster staff who could care less if they keep your business (the salesgirl I mentioned above being the obvious exception), then Hermosa Beauty is an ‘okay’ option. Overall, though – super pricey for what you’re getting, without the excellent service needed to soothe you after a gaping hole is left in your wallet. I rarely shop here unless I need nail supplies I absolutely can’t find somewhere else, or am in an exceptionally big hurry last-​minute to snag a beauty product (this store is very close to our condo).
…Just as a side note, and this is strictly a gut feeling only – the owner (s) give me an uneasy feeling, as though their business isn’t legit, and my mama always told me to trust my gut. Buyer beware, is all I’m sayin’.

I’m not going to even try to be witty or cute with this review. I’d been going to Hermosa Beauty Center for years and although they do in fact have a GREAT selection of goods, they lost me forever today. Why? Because when I tried to return a product I used ONCE I was informed there was a 7-​day return policy. Fine, I get it… If it was an item I picked out by my own doing, it would be one thing, but one of their clerks went to great lengths to tell me how amazing it was. Maybe it was amazing, but I thought it smelled disgusting and was extremely oily.
Today when the tall curly-​haired/​balding cashier told me I was using too much of the item, I told him I no longer wanted it and since he wasn’t going to give me a refund or do an exchange, he could keep it. He smiled and said «thank you.»
You’re welcome buddy, and I hope you’re able to resell it because you’re going to have to do something to supplement the $ 100.00/year I’m taking down the road to the next beauty supply bidness. This is a new year, baby, and the people I give my money to are going to have to start treating me a little better.
