History

Established in 2015.

MIXT Studio is a gift and lifestyle brand launched in Hermosa Beach in 2012. MIXT products can now be found in over 300 stores internationally.

There’s a creative spirit and love of the environment that infuses everything founder Marcie Carson produces. Her passion to discover new things meant the line’s aesthetic would be a wild mix of texture, color, pattern and product. As a result, Marcie chose the name «mist.»

WORK+SHOP

The brand opened their first store in Summer 2015. The unique space is where MIXT Studio products are made and shipped daily («WORK») alongside curated goods from local talent, loved brands and international finds («SHOP»).

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Marcie Carson began her career in Marketing at the eighties apparel chain, Contempo Casuals. In the early nineties, Marcie’s passion for creativity continued as she toured the globe with Madonna as a costume assistant and worked on the 1994 World Cup design team. In 1995, she founded the graphic design firm IE Design + Communications.

From the beginning, Marcie’s distinctive design approach has been extensively honored and published. She has garnered hundreds of design awards and her work has appeared in countless books on design, including prestigious titles from Taschen, Rockport and Graphis. In 2006, she was selected as an occupational expert by the US Dept of Labor and helped develop content for a program educating people about graphic design. In 2010, Marcie was featured in Entrepreneur magazine, appeared on ABC TV and was awarded the «Best of L.A. Women’s Business Award.»
