To most, it is the Southern section of the Santa Monica Bay stretching from Los Angeles International Airport down to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. If you are new to the area, a quick tour around town might just compel you to stay.

Rob McGarry is a Realtor and Licensed Broker with Vista Sotheby’s International Realty. Rob lives in Hermosa Beach with his wife, Erin, and daughters, Kylie and Holly. Rob and Erin met and married at American Martyrs Church, and remain actively involved in the parish. Erin is a Pediatrician, caring for the infants, children and adolescents of the South Bay from her private practice in Torrance.

Rob has been a South Bay resident for most of his life. He was raised in South Redondo, where he attended St. James for elementary and junior high and Bishop Montgomery for high school. Rob continued his education just down the coast at the University of San Diego where he earned a Bachelor of Accountancy. He played just about every sport imaginable growing up, including basketball, soccer, golf, surfing, volleyball and tennis. Even with the busy schedule that comes with Real Estate, Rob still finds time to play tennis regularly and get out in the ocean on his stand up paddle board.

Rob was an amazing partner in my home search and purchase. He went above and beyond in every aspect from beginning to end, which resulted in my finding a great house, at an amazing price and with a seamless contract and closing process. During the home search Rob was always a step ahead of the game finding places that met my specifications before or as they hit the market. Since inventory was low at the time his knowledge of the area and market was paramount. This allowed us to be the first to see and bid on potential homes and ultimately resulted in us getting an accepted offer on the perfect place at a below market price. As a new buyer in California I wasn’t completely sure of how the process works and I was admittedly a bit overwhelmed. Thankfully, I was in good hands with Rob. He was present and involved in every tiny step along the way making sure that I understood the process, as well as making sure that I was protected and making smart decisions. Rob was amazing. We met him at an open house and contacted him once we got
serious about buying in the South Bay area. Rob was very knowledgeable about
the South Bay market and was very honest with us about houses/​neighborhoods
he thought we would like/​hate/​should consider, etc. based on our expressed
needs/​wants. This helped us to narrow our search more quickly and also made
us feel that Rob was honest and forthright with us, and not simply looking
to make an sale to us.
He was also incredibly helpful throughout the offer/​negotiation process. He
negotiated really effectively, returned calls to us and worked on the
negotiation well before and after normal business hours in order to make
sure the deal happened and to keep us apprised of the process. Rob was also
very honest with us throughout the inspection process and escrow. His
knowledge of this whole process and experience with local inspectors,
mortgage lenders, etc. was a huge help because it ensured that we were
working with people that were not ripping us off and who had great working
relationships with Rob already. We still rely on Rob for recommendations for
services we need around the house — chimney sweepers, plumbers, carpenters,
even a nanny.
Rob was a joy to work with and my husband and I will surely use him again
when it comes time to sell our home and buy a new one. He made the entire
house buying process as easy as it could be and we felt like we were in good
hands throughout the entire experience. We could not recommend him more

From his newsletters (which are very well researched and informative) to his integrity to his hard work and responsiveness, I certainly give him my highest recommendation. Rob has a lot of patience :)
We started our journey of looking for a home a year ago. it took us 7 months to find one we could agree on. Our situation was a little different; my parents were giving us the downpayment (part investors int he home) and so he had to deal with 4 opinions. He worked extra hard to make sure we understood the pros and cons of every home, area of town, and price point. He has so much knowledge of the area and the market.
He was able to help us (much like a therapist) figure out what was most important to us. We did find the perfect home for us. We put in an offer below the asking price, but we really couldn’t afford to stretch much more than that. With negotiations from Rob and a heartfelt letter, they accepted the offer. He helped us through the inspections and escrow process… and it was such a smooth, non-​stressful experience. We are so grateful for his help and expertise.
