The «Amazzing» Steel Drum Ensemble trains people of all ages to play the steelpan instrument that originated in the Caribbean, and we play at a wide variety of venues and events making happy music wherever we go.

We can scale in size to accommodate your needs, ranging from a simple duet up to a full 20-​player orchestra.

The band is the primary outreach and fundraiser for The Good Spirit Foundation, Inc., a not-​for-​profit charitable and religious organization based in Hernando, FL, whose purpose is to provide opportunities, training, and guidance to young people and their families. We train kids to play during our summer camps and practice sessions, and we also have professional players with 20+ years of experience in pan who are available year-​round to teach private lessons.

History

Established in 1993.

We started over 20 years ago with just two lead pans and have grown into a full orchestra since, while touring all over Florida and producing multiple recordings along the way.

Meet the Manager

Sue M.

Manager

Sue is our faithful band director. She was classically trained and worked as a high school band teacher for many years. Since starting «Amazzing» Steel, Sue has taught pan to hundreds of children and adults with a teaching ability that not only gets students playing real music within their first hour, but keeps them learning more and more for years to come.
