This place absolutely ruined my son’s 3rd birthday cake. The design was NOTHING like I asked for. It’s as if they took my design and said«Nice, but we’ll do our own thing.» I will say the delivery was timely, which gave me enough time to order cupcakes to supplement the ruined cake. Not only was the design wrong, but the cake was sideways when the delivery guy dropped it off. It couldn’t stand up on it’s own. We had to lean it against household objects so it wouldn’t topple over. Even if the design was right, we still couldn’t have used the cake if we wanted to. I did get a refund, but it was still a disaster. The cake was just horrendous. It also didn’t even taste all that great. I gave my son a little piece of it and he called it «strawberry bread.» Not sure if that’s how I’d want a cake described. I will NEVER order from this place again. Too bad my original cake lady wasn’t taking orders.

I like the other reviewers purchased a voucher and recently received an email from the voucher company that Amelia’s Cakes was cancelling all orders and that my money for the unused voucher would be refunded. I am totally disgusted with the lack of customer service on behalf of Amelia’s Cakes. I should have known because even when I was trying to order the cake and redeem the voucher, Amelia’s Cakes was very slow to process the order. I am not sure how this makes good business sense. The idea behind offering a voucher with voucher sites such as Groupon, Living Social, etc is that you want to attract more customers. I WILLNOT be using this company for any type of order. Their customer service was horrible and they did not hold up their end of the deal. I am glad that I dealt with a voucher site and was not dealing with them directly because if this is how they handle their business then I would have hated to have to deal with them myself to try to get a refund.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. I, like yesterday’s reviewer, also purchased a voucher from a deal website. I’d been in touch with the company before purchasing the voucher to ensure I could receive this cake in time(I have a shower I wanted to take it to this Saturday). They were very responsive before I purchased the voucher. I have since sent them three emails and left three voicemails(calling two additional times without leaving a voicemail) trying to place the order and have heard nothing back. Now I am scrambling to order a cake from somewhere else in time for the shower in two days. I’m guessing they got overwhelmed by all the vouchers they sold, but that is no excuse. They should have put a lower limit on the total number of vouchers the deal site could sell. I am now out the $ 25 for the voucher and still need to find a cake from somewhere else for this weekend. This place may have reviews elsewhere of making delicious baked goods, but if they take your money and do not give you anything in return… there are enough other bakeries out there to not take the chance on them.
