Well. Today was the last time I will take my daughter to see Dr. Imam. She told me the herpes simplex 1 virus is not contagious… «HSV-1 can also be spread by sharing a cup, eating utensils, or lip balm or lipstick with someone who has it. In addition, if you or your partner gets cold sores on the mouth, the herpes simplex virus-1 can be transmitted during oral sex and cause herpes in the genital area.» You can find that fun fact over and over again all over the web and medical books, it even says it on Abreva’s website. The fact that a medical professional just told me that herpes is not contagious STILL has me dumbfounded. Update: I immediately found my daughter a new dr whom she met this morning. He diagnosed her with herpes simplex 1(so much for it not being contagious huh, still can’t believe she said that) and put her on an antiviral medication for the cold sores in her mouth. Dr. Imam told me my daughter had an ear infection, her new Dr. Said she does not.

Superb doctor in the northern Virginia area! My family and I have been with Dr. Imam for years and she is one of the best. You can tell she is an experienced and efficient physician. She was very caring and pleasant to interact with and does not waste your time. The office staff was also very pleasant and helpful as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Imam to anyone needing a good doctor. Last time I went I saw her office was recently renovated too!
