History

Established in 2011.

Our history dates all the way back to February 1923 when Harper Motors first opened in Hickory, NC. In May 1970, Mr. Bill Armstrong purchased Harper Motors and Armstrong Ford, Inc was born. After 41 years in business, Bill Armstrong decided to retire at the age of 84. His long time and valuable friend, Mr. Larry Cloninger, purchased Armstrong Ford on November 2, 2011 and Cloninger Ford of Hickory was established! Larry Cloninger has years of experience in the automobile industry and is proud to serve the Hickory area with this Ford dealership.
