The restaurant looked packed from the outside. The parking lot was full. However, the restaurant is pretty big and can handle the crowd which is nice. Inside the décor is bright and vibrant. They have a big bar area when you enter. When they bring chips to your table you get salsa and also a bean dip. The bean dip was just like a thinner version of refried beans. It wasn’t my favorite but it was something different to go with the chips and salsa that you always get at mexican restaurants. The food came out quick and was nice and hot. The food was good but nothing special — it was what you would expect to get at any Mexican restaurant.

There is more than one El Passo’s in town but I have never been disappointed with anything at this location. The chicken tortilla soup is OUTSTANDING! The wait staff is attentive and the facility is very clean. If you like seafood you will be thrilled with the offerings. Excellent for lunch and dinner.

I don’t normally like to give 5 stars but I have never bad a bad experience here. Usually I stop for lunch and food is great, service is great, and my tea glass is NEVER empty. I would recommend.

I must say, I am surprised and wholly thankful to come across El Paso’s! My husband has lived in Dallas, TX for 20 years, and myself for a few years as well. You get used to the whole in the wall, privately own down home style Mexican food there. It spoils you a bit to get the this quality, and it is dissappointing many atime going elsewhere, but we try and try again. This time, we found a winner! I told my husband about it a few months ago, but he was skeptical, and finally for his birthday I took him there. The salsa was fabulous, and the service wonderful! The waiter spent the time with my husband as he described his much beloved street tacos, that Rio Bravo made back in Dallas, in this old cantina. I let him take his time, I let the waiter describe, and suggest a couple of items for him. Bingo! He got the taste and flavor he has been craving for months, since leaving Texas! I am thankful, as it is good Mexican food, fresh ingredients, great flavor and not cheaply made. The Steak I got with the different peppers grilled all over it with corn tortillas, and it was just perfecto! The Ribeye was good quality, grilled to my perfection. It was not over salted, and the peppers and onions with fresh grilled tomatoes was fabulous. The only thing that made it even better, at the waiter’s suggestion was a slice of lime and cilantro. AMAZING! My hubz was happy he got his street tacos, perfect. He was so full he didn’t even need the burrito he ordered, but he was über happy. The beef was cooked perfectly, not over cooked, and juicy like a roast beef. He was in heaven! I cannot thank the waiter enough for his graciousness, as my husband was truly looking for what he had been missing in Texas. The only thing I would say, was as nice as the atmosphere is, it lowered the inviting feel with all the florescent bulbs in all the lamps.

Wonderful place! The packed parking lot on a Sunday night was a good clue that this place was a good choice. The outside and inside décor are typical mexican chain fare, as was the menu — but when our food arrived(quickly I might add) what a great surprise. No longer the typical«plate is hot» delivery but an actual«presentation» of our meal! The portions were tremendous, requiring to-go boxes for most of us. The food itself was very good and anything but standard. The wait staff was very attentive. A nice salsa bar rounded out a very pleasurable experience. Can’t wait to go back.

My DOSXX arrived as a slush in a frosted mug. The food and service were excellent and the menu was extensive.

I don’t know why this location doesn’t have a review yet but I’m happy to be the first! I’ve had dinner here a few times and I’ve also ordered to-go food from here. The service is good and the food is excellent. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, try the salsa bar! I’m not a huge salsa fan; I just prefer a regular mild salsa, which is available at the bar. The one served at the table is a little on the spicy side and is loaded with cilantro. I like spice, but cilantro isn’t my thing. It’s nice to have variety, and this place has it! The parking is a little awkward but there are plenty of spots! This location is right off 127 in Viewmont. Honestly it’s in a much better location than the other one in Hickory. Check it out!
