Shake A Paw Puppies and Family Pet Center

Absolutely horrible customer service. The staff there are children and under-​qualified and dogs are over priced. Don’t go there unless you absolutely know your dropping at least $ 2,000 that day, because that’s all they care about. They make you feel like your annoying them when you ask a question. I asked about getting into a play room to play with a certain dog because my fiancé has allergies to some dogs and we wanted to see if he would get an allergy attack. The response I got from the young girl could pretty much be paraphrased to «since your not serious about purchasing the dog then we rather have these rooms available for someone that is». I immediately walked out, and when I am ready to purchase a dog, I will definitely not be going there.

Having trouble adding a review. I think the place and staff is terrific. Bought my dog there. Called the next day with a question and the staff graciously helped me out. Just keep in mind that you shouldn’t focus on five negative reviews for a place that sells 30 puppies a month

this is a well stocked store beds leashes bowls fish and their supplies you name it they got it
the staff is very friendly
and in the back lots of puppies you name the breed they got it
There is even a sign saying they take special orders
There are signs all over saying you can take part in AKC events with the pups you can buy here (this is what got me annoyed)
don’t get me wrong there is NOTHING wrong with a pure breed pup to be your best buddy but (go find a breed specific breeder)
go ahead take your new pup to a AKC event people will sadly be shaking their heads when they hear where your pup was bought… yes sadly while these babies are well taken care of in the store go look on line and see where the pups were born.
at over 1k a pop for a pup do yourself a favor learn about puppy mills (where these dogs were born)
I pulled myself away from that little brown & tan dachshund and reminded myself if I bought him I would be perpetuating the the mill business
* I prefer a purebreed dog to a mixed breed of course 9people can bash me) but I want to know my dogs personality and how he will look when grown

I can understand being competitive but they flagrantly insult other businesses. One employee put down the other location. Please note that this business is like a car dealership but with no Sticker price. They expect you to haggle. They make sure you are emotionally invested in the dog and then blindside you with the price. Also there is a $ 120 fee that you have to pay. They don’t mention that till usually after they drop the price. Overall, it is one of the cleaner places and they do a fair job taking care of the dogs but you don’t get the same level of quality as a private breeder. True breeders will charge you a bit more than the best negotiated price but none of them are puppy mills. You can rest assured at that.

Now, almost 2 months later, we are so thankful for Shake A Paw. Our puppy is happy, healthy, and we are the proud parents of our German Shepherd. Whether you purchase or rescue your pet, you are risking taking home a member of your family with some sort of problem. The kennel cough became pneumonia because we waited 3 days and the Coccidia was just an easy fix. We love our puppy and are so happy we walked in that day to get our pup.

Love this store… Love visiting the puppies etc… Too cute… The staff sometimes seems annoyed if you ask questions about the dogs– not a very effective sales technique if you ask me!
