History

Established in 1964.

The history of Autosonics began in 1964 with the installation of aftermarket eight track players into automobiles. Technology evolved quickly and so did the needs of the automotive world. Soon after, we made our break into the cellular phone market and became one of the top cellular retailers in Illinois. With the invention of the first mobile car phone, Autosonics was at the frontline of mobile electronics. Installation of car phones became our regular business. As commutes became longer and people spent more time in their vehicles, it gave us the opportunity to expand our services. We began offering installations on stereo systems, CD players and changers, mobile video, car security, radar detectors and remote starters — making our customers’ cars more convenient!
