Amazing children’s toy store– the best in the area! It’s well-​organized, by age, and the people who work there are always super friendly and helpful. We always get presents for the littlest family members here!

Prices are up there, but always a fantastic and creative selection of premium toys. They let the kids play with whatever and Pam, the owner, is a truly wonderful person. This locally owned toy store deserves support.

Of all the baby accessory stores we went to in the area, Beanstalk had the best service by far. They had many quality, safe baby toys to choose from. We made a few purchases, and will be back for some of their personalized items soon. If you enjoy friendly service and great baby accessories, I recommend this place.

Awesome kids toy store with everything and anything you could need. We love this store for buying birthday gifts since they wrap it right there for you!
Lots of baby items, toddler stuff and TONS of games that are all reviewed highly. Books galore in the backroom and occasionally they have story time.
Kids come here just to play too, which they encourage and allow! However, we can never leave without getting something…

Beanstalk is so insanely adorable! It is packed to the brim with unique children’s toys and it’s the perfect spot to go to grab a gift for a special child in your life. They have butterflies hanging from the ceiling on some type of timer so they come down and raise up sporadically.
The ladies working here are insanely helpful. We mentioned we were looking for a baby gift and she let us browse while bringing a bunch of great suggestions for gifts to us. It was nice and very thoughtful, explaining why each item was special, unique and would make a good gift for our situation and price point.
When we checked out, they wrapped our gifts for us in adorable paper with ribbons at no extra charge. Truly a great experience shopping at Beanstalk. Support your local business instead of going to a big box store! The quality of service and items simply can’t be matched.

I have been in here many times, i keep giving it another chance. Don’t know why i bother. The lady in there has terrible customer service. I think the store has nice things but i don’t shop in places that don’t treat the customer nicely. Lots of other stores in Highland Park to visit so no reason to go to Beanstalk again.

Good toy stores (or actually any toy stores) are hard to come by these days. I know that bringing my 2 year old to a toy store is likely to result in a tantrum because she’s going to want to bring home the entire store. Instead with a click of a mouse I can get the toy I want at my doorstop within 2 days (shout out to amazon prime). However, sometimes it’s nice to actually see the toys in person.
I wondered in here on my own with a few minutes to spare before a metting nearby and even said out loud to the owner (i think) «I could never take my 2 year old in here. She’d go crazy with all these amazing toys.» She responded «bring her in… we’ll have fun w/​her!» A few days later I took her up on that offer, but was smart enough to have grandma in tow. Grandma told Toddler R that she could pick out 2 toys.
As suspected Toddler R went nuts once inside this store. She ran around and pointed to everything she already has (note to self and grandma to stop spoiling her) and then did another lap around picking out everything she wants. The 2 toys turned into 4 toys because grandma couldn’t say no.
The owner was super helpful and even pointed to some suggestions of toys that would be great for Baby R, who was blissfully sleeping in the stroller throughout this madness.
Toddler R is still talking about her trip to the toy store with grandma. Amazon Prime may be convenient, but you can’t buy memories with the click of a mouse.

There’s something in every corner here… butterflies that hang and move from the ceiling when someone enters. There’s a wall of nostalgic games and magic sets, a train track suspended from the ceiling with an electric train running around it, a giant kid-​sized house to peek into, and so on and so on and so on.
If you’ve seen Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, this place has all you can imagine minus secret doors. And don’t worry about the giant toy solder, he’s harmless. I came in the other day to meet a friend who was finishing up a Friday reading session in the back reading nook. I hadn’t been in here for years, and it’s so so different now… better. It’s magical, and there was was even a little girl walking around with big wide eyes looking at everything and squealing out, «ooh, mommy!»
Sure there are other toy stores around, but unless you’re shopping for a bike, come here for a truly magical experience. Got nephews or little nieces like Elaine M? Come here to spoil them.
Five star rating… hands down. And that goes for the customer service too!

This is the most adorable toy store! My son is 13 months old, and he loves it! This is what a toy shop should be. They have a lot of great toys for kids to play with while you shop. It keeps them entertained for a while… I love their book section in the back, they made that area really cute. This is a great place to shop whether your looking to spend $ 5 or $ 100. There is a toy for every budget. And, they gift wrap for free.

Love this store! The store personnel are super friendly and helpful! I have been here several times and always have a great experience. The sales people here are very helpful in assisting me to find cute and fun items to send to my little nieces.

I was greeted and assisted by a friendly sales staff associate. Not knowing what I was looking for, she directed me to an area stocked with a selection of toys for a 4 year old boy. I went with her selection, had the toy wrapped and I was happy. Weeks passed and the birthday party for my nephew arrived. As he opened our gift, the 15 or so kids surrounding him started squeeling as he raised the Angry Birds game over his head. Chaos ensued until they opened the game. Thanks for helping me keep my «cool aunt» status”!
This wasn’t the first time I have shopped here. Definitely will return.

This store has really gone above and beyond with the holidays– balloon animals, face painters, and lots if fun activities to take the kids to. I love the staff and it’s a go to place for gifts! Highly recommended!

This place is awesome! Has all the best toys for all ages! All of their toys are high quality, and the customer service is amazing!

I bought several things there, and I ended up returning all of them — overpriced. I know small businesses have to compete with Amazon, etc., but this stuff was REALLY overpriced! One of the reasons I like going to little shops is for customer service, but I didn’t find one of their sales people on several occasions to be very friendly nor helpful. Tried to like this place, but I would just rather order online for specific things, go to Galt for cool toys or go to a boutique for cute specialty clothes in the city.
