I’m not terribly happy with my experience with Kinetics. I purchased a Groupon for 5 antigravity yoga classes. When I tried to reserve a spot for class on the website, I was instructed to call the gym first to set up consultation. I met with one of the trainers a few days later to discuss my health goals etc.(this is pretty standard for most gyms) and when we were done she asked if I wanted to take the antigravity yoga class happening right then. I decided why not, and then proceeded to spend the next hour in class feeling completely nauseous. The instructor Carl was great, apparently hanging upside down for extended periods of time just doesn’t agree with me. Obviously this isn’t the gym’s fault. The problem that I have is when I decided to try the class again a few weeks later(I wanted to see if the first class was a fluke and use my full Groupon) the trainer I met with initially must have saw me walking to class(the gym has two separate buildings), chased after me and stopped me as I was halfway in the building to tell me I should be attending the gym more. She meant it in a good natured way but it was a turn off, especially as there were no stipulations in the Groupon or gym regulations stating that I have to attend a certain amount. The second class left me more nauseous than the first. Some pros are the instructors are knowledgable and the facility is clean and well kept, but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

This is definately a great place to go if you want to make changes. I joined three months ago and I am glad I did. This gym creates a community no judgement zone where support and accountability are a big part of your experience.

If you are looking for a place to get fit, this is the place to go! Everyone here is helpful and compassionate and eager to teach members how to reach goals through mind/body connections. Training sessions are semi private or private, depending on your needs. The boot camp classes are very challenging, but the trainers are extremely considerate to beginners to help gain strength and form. The aerial yoga classes are awesome! Try it! Kinetics is a place where you will find a true sense of community. The members encourage one another and since I’ve been attending(since September’15) there has been some kind of fund raiser or food drive for families in need.

Joined for 3 months, but didn’t have a desire to return. The one on one training is fine but very, very expensive and although the classes were included in the price I found the schedule to be very limited.

Misleading website says free consultation and trial workout but the trial workout isn’t a class — it is a 15 min session. Very misleading and bad customer service. They could have honored it but they didn’t. Won’t return

I can’t believe I’ve never tried Aerial Yoga or in my case Antigravity Fundamentals! The class I had today, Tuesdays at 12:15 was by far the best workout class I’ve ever had! I loved the instructor(I don’t know her name), she was sweet, relaxing, and pain close attention to the students. It was my first time doing anything remotely off the ground and I was nervous at first but she made me feel very comfortable. When she dimmed the lights and turned on relaxing music, put on this eucalyptusy-type scent in the room and touched your spine, I seriously felt like I was at a spa.

Kinetics NJ is a great gym. All the instructors are helpful and understanding, while also pushing students to the limit so that they get the most out of their work out. They also have a range of activities and classes from personal training(I haven’t partaken of that yet, but I will) to Zumba to TRX(suspension work). It is a small gym, but well appointed and the other students there are friendly, as well, which helps. Sometimes when walking into a smaller gym, it can by intimidating if it seems like all the other students know each other. But at Kinetics, everyone is friendly and open. I highly recommend the BOOTCAMP class that will get your blood pumping and your muscles aching. I’ve only been to the 6am classes and they’re great, but they offer them in the afternoon, too. And the Zumba class taught by Metra is really great. Love the combination of music she uses. Overall, I look forward to going to work out at Kinetics. Win!
