We are Charlie and Mari Barnes who opened our shop in 1985 in the Ravinia Business District. Today we are located on Old Skokie Road, still in Highland Park. Through the years framing technology has advanced, our frame choices have increased, but our focus of providing good old fashioned quality framing has remained constant.

Charlie began working in the framing business soon after college. In 1985 Charlie and Mari opened The Custom Framer in Highland Park and have been doing business there ever since. Charlie is a CPF certified picture framer, and is an expert at frame design and execution.

I used to go to this place when it was in the Ravinia area of HP. They know what they are doing here. The owner has a knack for helping pick the right frame.
It’s high quality work… But you do pay a bit more. I’ve never been disappointed.
They moved to an obscure location on old Skokie Road in HP. When you have a nice piece of work you need framed, do it here!
