History

Established in 2006.

Originally located in the village of Highland, the office moved to its present location in 2010. Dr. Bywater has been an optometrist for over 25 years and is an affiliate of TLC Laser Eye Center. Most vision and medical plans are accepted and the practice has a large frame showroom. Highland Optometry has evening appointments and is open most Saturdays. Contact lens services and walk-​in emergency eye care is also provided.

Meet the Business Owner

Dr. Bywater M.

Business Owner

A native of Newburgh, Dr. Bywater brings to Highland Optometry over 25 years of experience. Past positions have been as Clinic Director for Pacific Laser Eye Center, Ophthalmology associate of Dr. Matta, Middletown/​Orangeburg and Dr. Saygh, Newburgh/​Cornwall. He is a volunteer with Special Olympics and One Sight, a charitable eye care group. Dr. Bywater is currently serving as secretary of the Hudson Valley Optometric Society.

He also enjoys his volunteer work with the Newburgh Waterfront Playhouse.
