I have been eating at Carla’s for a year now and you almost can’t go wrong as the menu goes. If you like Burgers, Chickenfried steak, chopped steak with brown gravy and mashed taters then you have found the place.
The shack is small with a Baseball family motive. Just a suggestion — if you opt for a salad and want Tomatoe in it «ask for it» otherwise it will not have tomatoe in it.
Nice place to eat breakfast but don’t tell anybody — just our secret. Check it out next time your in Highlands, Tx

This is a small-​town café with a small-​town feel. They serve down-​home favorites like catfish, liver & onions & meatloaf. The burgers are really good. The fries are those big crispy crinkle fries. If you’re in Highlands & want some comfort food… head on over to the Snak Shak.
