If it’s a nice or decent or yucky day in Highlands you need to stop here. Be prepared for a crowd — inside and out — but it’ll be worth it. Staff has always been friendly despite the crowds. We Ordered the ever popular Pumpkin Spice ice cream, and they had just ran out. … but the young lady behind the counter suggested the ‘Apple Pie ’ ice cream as a Plan B… Great Plan! Lots of variety for the sugar starved, from ice cream to chocolates to fudges to pralins.

Ice cream was tasty but service could have been friendlier. My wife ordered an ice cream for us to share, and I asked if I could taste the limited apple pie flavor. The girl gave me a sample spoon, and I thanked her. She asked if I wanted to order some, I declined, and she gave me a look like why was I wasting her time. Hopefully she was just having a bad day.

Lots of different kinds of chocolates and treats. You can get them from the case or pre-bagged/boxed. Didn’t really look at the different flavors of ice cream but there was a nice-sized counter. They have a little seating area inside as well. Got a pre-boxed assortment of truffles — very good!

We went here for dessert and had the best, creamiest ice cream ever. Tons of options and sundaes too. Fudge was spectacular and will be anxious to go again

Lots of choices. We had a scoop of the smore and turtle cheesecake. Both were good and very filling. Nice girls who served us.

I’ve only had small pieces of chocolate from this place, never indulged in their bigger items or ice cream. If those are as delicious as each tiny treat I’ve tasted, then this place is awesome. I mean, I already find it awesome, but it’ll be more awesome. Not that they have much room to improve, I mean awesome connotates a very high level of goodness(or is it wellness). so, yeah, it’s good.

Love the ice cream! Not a chocolate fan, so I can’t speak to their other treats, but the chocolate lovers in my family definitely love them. It can get busy here on weekends and summer afternoons, but the super-friendly staff does a good job of efficient service. There’s limited indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor spots with really great mountain views.

I’m not sure how to review or rate this place. The chocolate was ok, but the place was wayyyy crowded. The lemonade had either a ton of sugar or no sugar at all. Everything was WAY overpriced… I see no difference between this place and any other chocolate store.

Each Kilwin’s seems to be a little different, this one has apples, but not nearly as ornate and over the top as some shops. The fudge bar is a decent size and they have a Jelly Belly dispensary.

Love their chocolates! Their chocolate covered caramels are my favorite. Also enjoy their ice cream. Great atmosphere but not a lot of seating inside, plenty outside though. Kids love going and getting a treat.

Yummy homemade ice cream. The guy who helped us was super nice. We tasted couple before we made our decision. We got the apple pie and pumpkin pie. It was very good.

I love this place more than anything else — and I am so thrilled to have one in Highlands and one in Charleston! Its always near by! This is probably the best ice cream I have ever had, served by the friendliest people I have ever met, in the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to. Their fudge is phenomenal and their other chocolate treats are to die for. I cannot rave about this location enough. I’ve never had a stale waffle cone or a bad-tempered employee. They always have a ton of flavors to choose from and are more than willing to let you sample them all. I am honestly considering leaving now to go grab another cone…

Kilwins began in the 40’s and has grown to over 80 locations, mainly in Michigan and Florida but other states also. All stores have same menu, high quality ingredients, and good service. The have great ice cream(salted carmel is my favorite), chocolates, fudge, candy apples, popcorn mixes, etc., but ice cream is the main event here. Highly recommend!

Very nice little ice cream shop with fudge and all. Some of the staff are great, some are good. I only got their limeade, but had to go back several times to get another one. It was made with fresh squeezed limes and was not too sweet or sour, it was just right. Worth trying for sure.

«Life is like a box of chocolate»…and Kilwin’s is the Chocolate Heaven! Lana and I visited few months ago. She got the vanilla ice-cream cone, I got a chocolate covered pretzel and in between we’ve sampled about 3 fudges. Oh give us a break! we were on our way to hike the waterfalls along scenic Hwy 64… so we needed an energy boost! We took our time enjoying our treats on the wooden bench outside the store. BTW there is a cool coffee house right beside it to wash off the sweet taste with some good old cappuccino and catch up on the latest town gossip. These guys ship all sorts of gift baskets, box candies and trays all over the country ranging from $ 30 to $ 80…the Holidays are coming!
