Dom’s Getty Service Station

Last June, I took my car to Doms Getty in Hightstown because my car was overheating. Larry Quattrone (the owner and town mayor) charged me $ 997 to have my head gasket replaced. Now, my car is overheating once again so I took it back to Doms Getty to see what was up. Larry got incredibly defensive and started saying he didn’t want to work on the car, or deal with me.
I told Larry I had the original receipt (to which he replied, ‘no you don’t’). I said I was going to have the car diagnosed at another mechanic, and if the head gasket was the issue, I would bring the car back to him with the receipt in hand. He told me not to even bother, and to just take him to court.
I took it to another shop, where three different mechanics looked at it and said there was no way the head gasket was replaced. They also noticed copper in the fluid, which they told me is common in sealants. They still have to run additional tests, but they said it looks like sealant was used to stop the leak, but the head gasket was not actually replaced. What do I do? He charged me almost a thousand dollars and now I’m being told the repairs were not actually performed.
Not only is Larry abhorrently rude, he does shotty work and is no where to be found when his work falls apart. He is the nastiest business owner I have ever come into contact with. Conflict is part of running a business, and no one wanted a peaceful resolve more than me. He would not even discuss the issue with me — he simply kicked me out of his shop and told me not to ever come back.
