This place is terrible. The guy charged my credit card twice and denied it ever happened. I had to go to my bank to handle it and get my money back. Terrible people, terrible food. I dont recommend anyone eating here.

Sorry the old man is really nice but this is perhaps the worst lamb gyro i have ever tasted. Meat appears to be a week old, bread was not fresh, nor was lettuce. I want my money back, Really how can you server garbage like this with a straight face? Would you feed this to you family? smh

Stumbled on Café Baghdad on our way to Subway. Way better food then anything I have had in a good while. I started this review in February of 2013 and somehow my smart phone did not post. I can say now that Café Baghdad is still a nice place in Downtown Hillsboro to stop into.

Awww. I feel bad for this place. All these one star reviews. Maybe things have improved since then. I was very pleased with the quality and flavor of our food. It was delicious! The falafel was fried up fresh when I ordered it, and it was perfect! The gyros were awesome. The hummus was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals immensely! And the guy running the little joint was very friendly. Honestly i am surprised by the poor reviews. We had zero complaints. We will return.

Not coming back again. The falafel and baklava were the worst I’ve had

What is going on w these reviews? I ordered the lamb gyro and tabbouli salad and they were delicious. Although the gyro bread is just okay. The meat was good.

Ordered a lamb Gyro here instead of at Subway, hoping to support a local enterprise. The meat was the driest, chewiest piece of protein I have ever had the misfortune of tasting. I saw one of those vertical rotisserie spits that I was expecting the server to carve from, but my meat was taken from a crock pot instead. I’m not even minimally confident that what I got was lamb, as the texture suggested something far, far beyond its prime. The whole gyro was pretty flavorless, made with bagged lettuce, generic bagged pitas, and a ho-hum tzatziki. I’m sad to say there was really nothing unique or flavorful to draw me back to this place, and I won’t be back.

It is sad, but it is true: this place does not have good food at all. Count me as one of the others here that had the same experience — hoping for a good(even decent) Gyro in downtown that I could hit up for lunch every so often. I can only second the other reviews: the meat on the Gyro was rubbery, cold, and frankly I thought it might have been slightly rotten. I ate a few bites and threw it away. I hate to say this, but I’d rather go to Subway next door.

Worst gyro I have ever had. Meat was dry and chewy, lettuce was soggy, tzatziki flavorless, and toppings overall very skimpy. I honestly could not even finish it, and I am not a picky eater. It was truly grossing me out. There was just this sliminess about the gyro that was unsettling. An alarm had already gone off when I placed my order and things were simply tossed into the microwave adjacent to the ordering window… YUCK. Avoid.

I’m so surprised to see these negative reviews! My family and I stopped by on our way home from Holly Days this evening. We walked up to the window and the gentleman opened it and told us to come inside, out of the cold. I ordered the falafel gyro and my husband had the lamb gyro. The bread was soft, the lettuce fresh, the falafel warm and perfectly crisp. The owner brought us baklava and was very sweet with our kids. I had no complaints and I will return.

I had such high hopes that this place would be good and close to home. I had the Lamb Gyro and it was not fresh tasting at all. The meat was gamy and the bread stale as well. My husband had the Felafel’s and they were cold and the tabouli was just not edible for my taste. Just unhappy all around.

I was running an errand up the street and walked by this place. I figured I’d stop in and get some hummus and baba ganoush to go. I love getting these at Gyro House and was excited to try them from a new place. One word-Bleh!!! Neither of them were worth keeping. I passed them onto a friend instead of throwing them away but I was not about to keep them in my fridge or I knew they’d go bad. Unfortunately, I have no desire to go back here again. Sorry guys.

«Hillsboro, where flavor goes to die.» Café Baghdad has joined the flavor killer club. I was just hoping for decent Middle Eastern food in the heart of Hillsboro. What I had couldn’t even meet that expectation. I had the falafel sandwich. The falafels were cold, dry, and under seasoned. It was like lumps of 2 day old bread. The sandwich was under sauced. I just wanted a hot, freshly fried falafel. I got the opposite. The tabouli was not good as well. Again, it was under seasoned. I didn’t get any flavor notes of olive oil, lemon, or even salt. It was just chopped parsley and onions that skimped on the cous cous. Usually I’ll give a bonus star for a decent joint in the burbs. That was deducted on the first bite. For Middle Eastern food in the burbs, I will stick to the awesomeness of Gyro House that definitely keeps the flavor alive.

I’ve been to this restaurant quite a few times and I’m hooked, I haven’t ever had Gyros this authentic before. They’ve been around for about a month but so far so good. I started with the lamb Gyro and they are amazing I just recently started getting 2, one chicken and one lamb. Definitely a great local treat.

No no no. We ALWAYS hit up the GYRO house in Hillsboro but we were feeling a bit lazy on a Saturday and decided to try this café. The meat was dry dry dry, lettus slimy and sloppy. We brought our food home and my roommate took one bite and spit it back out. I thought to myself«RUDE». I am up next, I take my bite and spit it back out. We called the café where they asked us to bring back our food, we did only to be greeted with another bag of dry slimy food. We declined the offer and took our cash to The GYRO house. The staff at the café was friendly which we love but the food… ugh! Our heartfelt apolgize to our trusty GYRO house, we wont stray again.

Its a new place that recently opened in downtown Hillsboro. The staff was friendly but service was a bit slow, but they said it was their first week and they are still learning. I went there for lunch. Food was cheap. I had a Beef Gyro and my friend had a Chicken Gyro. It was OK. The place is a little small and has a few stools in the lobby of the building. Most people I saw there, ordered gyro for takeout. Will visit them again, once they settle down.
