History

Established in 2014.

In operating our own private daycare homes, we saw the need for a different approach to developing the skills that children need to be successful in school and life.

In developing a business model for Children’s Learning Academy, we wanted to remove the business feel that many daycare centers have and instead provide that in-​home feel that parents desire. Our goal is to make parents and their children feel like they are part of our extended family, and not just a number.

As parents ourselves, we struggled to find child care that offered viable education options rather than just glorified «baby-​sitting». Our education options and methods are new, innovative, and combine the latest techniques to deliver strong results that will prepare your children for the road ahead.

Meet the Business Owner

Susan and Karissa.

Business Owner

Susan and Karissa have over 17 years of combined childcare experience. They are both CPR/​First Aid Certified and have countless credit hours in Early Childhood Education and Development.

Susan is a mother of 4 and has ran successful in-​home daycare operations for several years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, and is currently on Level 8 in the Oregon registry. She enjoys working with children and parents to achieve milestones together. In working with the parents as partners, she feels that children can excel faster and achieve success.

Karissa is mother of 5, who also has had great success in the daycare realm. Since 2007 she has been caring for and educating children in Washington County. Karissa has worked hard to develop new and innovative techniques to educate children and accelerate comprehension and retention. She also works closely with parents to determine their children’s specific needs, and choose a path that will insure success.
