Destination Ink

I can’t say enough great things about Destination Ink. A few days before my trip to visit my friend who lives in Forest Grove I decided that I wanted to finally get my nose pierced. She checked out Unilocal and saw that they had great reviews so we decided to go. I was super impressed with how professional looking the shop was. It was clean and bright with nice comfy chairs in the lobby. Mike is amazing. I was super nervous and he was so friendly and explained the whole process and answered any questions I had. He was very calm & patient. He really made me feel safe. It hurt a tiny bit, but every step of the way he told me exactly what was going on and it was over before I knew it!
My friend came in with some ideas from Pinterest of a feather that she wanted to get behind her ear. Christina (tattoo artist) came back a little bit later with 3 drawings. Super impressive!
A few days after I got my piercing it seemed like the jewel was sinking into my nose and it freaked me out and was worried because I live 2 ½ hours away and it wasn’t very easy to just drove back down there. I messaged Destination Ink through Facebook and got a response right away from Mike. He told me it was probably just swelling and to keep up the cleaning routine and keep in contact with him. He is so professional and seemed genuinely concerned and I really appreciate it. It has been 2 months since I got the piercing and I still love it!

Mike is a great. Very professional and friendly. So far he has pierced my daughters nose, my nipples and most recently I got a daith piercing. He really made me feel safe and calm for all the piercings. Everyting is clean. 2 thumbs up.

Let me start off by saying, I have been pierced 18 times before this, and Mike is hands down my favorite piercer after this experience.
We had previously discussed that I wanted to have my septum pierced, I needed to be fitted for new nipple jewelry, and I wanted to purchase new nostril jewelry for a few piercings that had been out for a few months. I’m a strong lady with a high pain tolerance but I was still really nervous about how much pain I could/​would be in during and after my experience.
When I came into Mike’s part of the shop where he performs piercings, I sat down on a comfy chair, and started talking details with Mike. He was uncertain as to whether or not my nostril holes would still be open enough to receive new jewelry, they weren’t. Mike was able to use a taper to get both pieces of jewelry in with a very minimal amount of pain. Then he pierced my septum. Before the actual piercing, I became a little overwhelmed and needed to get some water and take a few deep breaths, he was patient and understanding of my nervousness, and when I collected myself I returned to the chair to be pierced. The piercing went and smoothly and painlessly as a piercing could go. I was out of pain within a minute of the jewelry being put in, I was so relieved that he was so quick and gentle. His experience really shows in this way.
Then we moved to my nipple jewelry dilemma. Mike slid a privacy screen in front of the opening of the booth and turned around while I undressed, insuring I had all the privacy I needed. I didn’t even have to ask for this, which I was impressed by. I returned to the chair and he took a look at my jewelry and he gave me a few different options for new jewelry. Upon taking the jewelry I was wearing out, Mike discovered that it (sold to me as solid titanium, no nickel content) CONTAINED NICKEL! I have a severe allergy to nickel and all the issues with my nipple piercings finally became clear. A former piercer I had trusted was selling me low quality jewelry, calling it solid titanium, and upcharging it. I was disappointed at the discovery but I was very relieved that I had new options and a resourceful professional right in front of me. Unfortunately he had to taper in jewelry for one of my nipples, but it didn’t hurt nearly as bad as having them pierced, which I was thankful for.
Mike is extremely knowledgeable and professional, he answered all of my questions, and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be during my whole experience. Its been a few days since I was pierced and had my jewelry changed out, and I am already noticing a difference in jewelry quality with my nipples, my septum is hardly sore unless I bump it, and everything is looking very happy and healthy. I couldn’t recommend Mike’s services enough.

Mike is AMAZING. Not only did he help me re-​pierce a piece that healed up while I had to have my piercing out for medical reasons, but he gave me an adorable nose stud on the same day! Incredibly clean shop, great service, stellar pricing and unmatched professionalism.

My friend and I went to Destination Ink today to get a piercing from Mike — what a wonderful experience! We were both going to get our tragus pierced, and even though I was pretty nervous, he made the whole process great! He sat down and just chatted before we even got going and told me exactly what to expect during and after the piercing. He was very professional and quick. I highly recommend Mike at Destination Ink!!!

Received my nose piercing from Mike. Love it. Professional, honest, clean, and comfortable. He was very nice, and went over all the aftercare very thoroughly.
Liked it so much, I came back to get my nipples done. The experience was the same. Mike was awesome, kind, explained everything beforehand, and it was practically painless for me. I got both done at once, and the placement is matched.
I marked inexpensive because the piercing prices are very reasonable and less expensive than what I have seen in other places.
I will definitely go back for any other piercings, and I will definitely send friends to Mike as well.
I look forward to setting up a meeting about the next tattoo I would like as well.

This was my first tattoo at Destination Ink. Nik was so so so nice and patient with me. Everything was very clean and professional. I was very comfortable the whole time. Definitely going back for more~ thank you Nik!!!

I got my first tattoo today and woah is this place awesome. Christina did a phenomenal job and was super sweet and professional. I sent her the picture beforehand of what I wanted and she did some sprucing up and made it just how I imagined it and more. The entire staff is super professional, easy going and friendly. While i was there, I also needed to get my hoop and ball out of my nose to replace it with a stud. Mike was fast, efficient and didn’t even charge me for it. He’s pretty awesome. He hung out with Christine and I and kept me busy chatting while I had my tattoo done. When I am ready for another tattoo and piercing, I’m definitely coming back here. Super clean, Super friendly and I’m very happy with my results.

The best service. The best people! I’ve had a tattoo with Nik and piercings with Mike (which healed so quickly and never really even hurt! He’s amazing!!!). Love these guys! Go people go… Get some ink & bling!

Cool young female artist, with oodles of talent, very friendly and easy on the skin handles a gun with the skill of someone twice her age. Seen more than half a dozen tats and not one has scabbed. Thanks cristy you rock! The girls love what you have done for them. I’ll be there in the near future

I have had many enjoyable experiences in this tattoo shop! Nik has done two of my tattoos and we already have plans for the next two. he isn’t only like an amazing amazing artist his work you can look at it. it speaks for itself. but the actual sitting in the chair experience is wonderful! he talks and laughs with me and makes getting a tattoo actually near painless because he really makes me comfortable and takes my mind off the edge, they also let me choose music to listen to (: but probably because I have amazing taste in music! I actually live on the same street as a tattoo shop but I take an hour on the bus to their shop because they just rock at like «customer service» I can ask them questions and sound like an idiot and they don’t even judge! woah!
Then there is Mike the body piercer there and he is really amazing he has done three of my piercings. my nipple, my vch and my tregus and nik even held my hand for my ear (: Mike is a really awesome guy he made me feel completely comfortable for having my legs spread wide open! so if you are really worried about awkwardness. go to mike because you wont get that at all. also he did my second nipple piercings my first one was done at a different shop and just comparing the experience I wish I had gone to mike for both nipples because he had a different technique that seemed like the «right technique» haha! he even switched out my other jewelry so itd match my new one! that is just really fucking awfully sweet! my first time ever in the shop I was driving by and seen their sign and I made my boyfriend stop and take me in because I needed a new back to my Monroe stud and I didn’t know what size it was or anything to I handed the gem over to mike and he clean the gem and found the right size for me! and I just thought it was really really nice :)
I am a really really shy person so for me to be able to go into somewhere and not feel weird in a situation or shy about voicing my opinion (especially for a tattoo or piercing) means a great deal to me. I cant express enough how amazing these two guys are. I know right now there is a female artist in there I don’t know her name but I went through her portfolio and her art work is amazing as well!

This is the only shop I will go to for piercings and tattoos. Everyone that worked there is very personable and professional. The artist there are crazy amazing and the rates couldn’t be better! I highly recommend Destination ink!

I’ve been to other tattoo shops in the Portland area as well as Los Angeles. Destination Ink was by far the nicest group of guys, extremely lax and helpful when it came to my last-​minute tattoo appointment. Most importantly, the shop was clean and professional.
Normally, they are pretty booked so my drop-​in was unusual. However, I appreciated that one of the staff allowed me to come in right before his own tattoo sesh. I got 3 small black tattoos, where two were 1″ x 2″ latin words and the third was a symbol about 1″ x 1″. The price was $ 80, which is very reasonable. The wait was about 20 minutes and the session itself was about another 20 – 25 minutes, so I was in-​and-​out in about an hour.
My artist was James, who is the sweetest guy and easy to talk to. He’s also a perfectionist, which is ideal when getting something permanent done to your body. I highly recommend him! I recommend the whole place and would come back again.

We came here with our friend to get her first tattoo and the guys here were awesome! They were super friendly, knowledgable and did a GREAT job! She got a flying crow as a tribute to her late husband and is still extremely happy with it and considering another one.
My partner and I want to go back to visit up there and get our tattoos done there instead of here locally in Silicon Valley. He has 4 tattoos already that we had done in Visalia (GREAT prices out there) that he loves but is looking for a few more.

Love these guys. Super clean and welcoming shop. I’ve now had four tattoos and two piercings from them. Definitely worth the trip to Hillsboro.
