Even 5 stars doesn’t do Middleton Motors justice! My 2008 Toyota Scion tC was recalled because of excessive oil consumption. I went to Toyota Wilsonville — Service for the excessive oil consumption test and repair. They told me that they found a pretty bad leak and that I need to reseal my timing cover before they could proceed with the repairs, and also to replace my serpentine belt since it’s worn/​cracked. They quoted me $ 1,075.
Not being a fool, I took my car to Middleton Motors. They quoted me $ 778 for both the timing cover and serpentine belt. Tim, the President, called me to tell me he doesn’t agree with the dealership’s diagnosis. He said the oil leak was coming from the valve cover gasket, not the timing cover. Also, he didn’t see any cracks in the serpentine belt. Tim repaired/​replaced the valve cover gasket and cleaned my car for just over $ 150!
My husband and I thought we were going to put a massive dent into our savings account, but thank God for financial blessings and honest people at Middleton Motors! Tim could’ve easily just charged me $ 778 for the repairs and I wouldn’t have known any better, but Tim is a man of integrity. I am utterly grateful.
Tim stayed in touch with me via phone calls during the process, and clearly explained to me what my car truly needed and why. Also, he told me I can just take care of my serpentine belt when I get my water pump fixed sometime down the road since the belt needs to be removed to get to the water pump anyway, so there’s no use in me paying for the labor twice when I can just pay for it once when the time comes to repair/​replace the water pump. Wow! Can you say «honest mechanic»?! I dropped my car off at the end of the business day on Wednesday and picked it up on Friday. Talk about fast service.
I took my car back to Toyota Wilsonville and just told them I got the oil leak fixed without disclosing any details. Sure enough, they were able to proceed with the oil consumption test and repairs under the enhanced warranty due to the recall. Yet, they wanted to do $ 1,000 worth of repairs in order to move forward and they would’ve been fixing something that didn’t need to be fixed.
I am now a forever customer with Middleton Motors. They gave me a delightfully cute bag of black and white M&Ms after I checked out (M&M — Middleton Motors, get it?!). ;) I praised the Lord all the way home from Middleton Motors and I want to tell all my friends, family, and Unilocal!community about them! Thank you, Tim, and MM team so so much!

Checked my tire pressure for no charge when my light came on while headed to the coast from Portland. Very kind staff, open on a Saturday, and quickly helped me out in a pinch. Yes, I’m stupid when it comes to my car, but thank goodness for wonderful folks like these!

Have used Middleton Motors for years. Always helpful in explaining problems and providing options for repairs. Believe they are trustworthy and have recommended them to friends and neighbors. Great service friendly staff and fairly priced.

This is an outstanding shop. My car completely stopped working on a Saturday. My usual mechanic was closed. I had no idea what was going on. I called and they got me in right away. They couldn’t duplicate the problem. Instead of sending me home hoping it didn’t happen again they kept my car and continued to try to figure it out. Ultimately the work cost little to nothing and my car is running like gold.
They have won me over and will definitely be back.

I came to bring in my old Ford Escape for oil change and rotations, Forest was working on my car and informed me that I don’t need the tires to be rotated and both him and Will checked the whole entire car and honestly telling me that my car is old but in a very good condition.
For a person who never owned a car before (I lived in San Francisco, New York and Honolulu, for years and never needed to buy a car until I moved here 4 months ago) they make me feel safe driving my car.
They didn’t try to sell me anything. This is the second time I visited them, I brought in my very first car PT Cruiser (I bought it on the second week I arrived here and sold it couple months ago) and they took care of the PT Cruiser.
I will never go to any other place I will be a long life time client!!!

You can’t get much better than this. Tim Middleton is a great man and runs a great business. Mechanics are notorious of trying to sell you more things you probably don’t really need. I have had to take my car in many times over the last few months and they always take care of the problem that was wrong. I have never come in where they just start listing off everything that is wrong. Their pricing is also very fair. To be honest I was in three time within three weeks and they actually helped me out with some of the labor cost. Who does that anymore, I was simply blown away. I recently have had an engine failure, I am still figuring out what to do with the vehicle. They told me it was okay to leave it there for a bit while i figured it out. Great guys, great company, very trusted! Take any of your cars here!

I haven’t been to a mechanic in Portland yet. So I was a little skeptical as to who I should choose. Not wanting to be ripped off and what not. This place was referred to me by Orenco station imports. My check engine light came on and the engine made some odd sounds, I took it to them and they took care of the problem and luckily it was an easy quick fix. They didn’t try to sell me on other stuff and were very professional. Next time I have something wrong with my car I will definitely go back there.

Great service! I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation (my maintenance guide suggested the rotation at the mileage) and after inspection they decided I didn’t need the rotation. I don’t know much about cars and they could have easily charged me for the rotation and I wouldn’t have doubted them. I will definitely be bringing my car back in the future!

Thank goodness this place was open! It was the weekend after Thanksgiving and my car was making super weird noises. I called at least 6 or 7 other auto shops in the Hillsboro area. They were either closed or didn’t have open appointments until next week and I had to drive back to SE Portland Sunday morning. My boyfriend called Middleton and asked if they were open. Yay! Open Saturdays and not taking a long weekend for the holiday.
All I can say is I was thoroughly embarrassed when the mechanic pulled a stick/​twig out from under my car; that was the source of the noise. I really don’t know anything about cars. He seemed really nice and had me drive him around so he could hear the noise I was talking about. Also this little problem was free of charge. Sure it took like 5 minutes to figure out, but I was pretty thankful as I’m sure most places might charge you a service/​labor fee.
I’ll come back here when I have any real problems with my car. Only 4 stars since I didn’t actually use their services. (Will update after next oil change) :)

I’ve had 2 different dealings with Middleton and both experiences have left me very impressed. I get the feeling these guys are the best kept automotive secret in the Portland area. Theoretically speaking, this is the kind of place I would be willing to write a blank check to… I would trust them that much.

Super clean lobby and very friendly employees! Went in for an oil change and they had it done right on time as scheduled!

Good thing it was my boyfriend’s crappy car and not mine.
We were going to go elsewhere, but AAA recommended Middleton and it was closer than the original place.
We had 3 people look at his car and they had no idea what was going on with it. One of them swore it was possessed. We were forced to find car priests.
Their office is waaaaay too clean and nice to be a car shop.
The owner and staff are super nice.
Their diagnosis fee is $ 89 /​hour, which scared me. I thought it would be 2+ hours. We were pleasantly surprised when we got a call and it was totally reasonable.

Incredible! My wife and I were referred to Middleton Motors from a friend after a less than stellar and somewhat shady dealing with another shop. Not expecting much different we came to Middleton Motors and met with Tim and Mark and were instantly blown away. We knew there was something seriously wrong with our car and the low ball estimates from other shops were killing us because we knew they weren’t realistic. Middleton provided us with an honest assessment of our vehicle with worst case scenarios and then ranked the repairs in order of importance along with an idea of about how long we could space out the repairs or get away with not fixing it before it became a bigger problem. We were able to set our budget knowing that they were not using any bait and switch methods for once they got «under the hood.». When the repairs were done the car worked great and to our surprise it actually cost a little less than they had estimated! It’s tough to find a good mechanic you can trust these days. Tim and his staff at Middleton Motors certainly fit the bill!!!

We’ve had both cars worked on in the last year and whether it was a simple oil change to something complex like having a manual shifter come undone, Tim and team came through every time.
Last week the Honda that blew a radiator hose about a mile or two from the shop. Tim was there in no time with water to turn it around and get it on the rack. Though it was at closing, we had plans for the next day and even more pleased to have received a call the next morning to pick it up, fixed and running like before.
Forget the lube places, see Tim at Middleton Motors. The shop is neat and clean like those places known for high end automobiles. They’re real pros, who are genuinely friendly, sincere and honest.

Was referred to them by Les Schwab located nearby. Didn’t expect to have such a pleasant experience. Not your typical auto service & repair shop. Looks nothing like a repair shop from outside, extremely clean on the inside (their restroom is even cleaner than mine back home). But first and foremost — very professional staff and competitive prices. I have a crappy old car, so I frequent these types of establishments a lot, but this was the first time I was truly impressed.

This car mechanic shop is family owned, just a husband and wife that I know of, and they do everything with a personal touch. It’s nice to chat with the actual person working on your car.
AND their oil changes are $ 20! At first I thought it was a misprint… I was guessing their price to be around $ 30, you know, a little bit more expensive than Jiffy Lube but with that caring touch… but no. They’re cheaper (and friendlier!).
I’ve taken both my cars to Tim and Deborah and everytime they’re super helpful. Tim’s like the mechanic-dad-you-never-had…he’ll give solid advice about what work your car NEEDS as opposed to just what a dealer recommends. He also takes the time to find the necessary projects that the dealers even miss. Overall, he saves you money and your car gets personal attention, not general maintenance.
