Great food! Love the wild paint job on the restaurant — you can’t miss it! Go in EVERYTHING is yummy. This is the real deal, great price, good people, you will be back!

Great tacos. I’ve eaten here more than 20 times and every time it’s good. They don’t give enough limes and the plating is inconsistent. Sometimes you’ll get a whole grilled onion, jalapeño and a whole lime, sometimes you’ll get 6 tacos stacked on a tiny styrofoam plate with nothing else. Still though, closest thing to authentic I’ve found so far.

Authentic Mexican. My Barbacoa plate left me completely full and it was delicious. It is also cheap. Horchata there is also awesome. Restaurant could be cleaner though, that is the only complaint.

One of my favorite places. Authentic Mexican food at reasonable price. Horchata is fabulous. On winter days come well layered tho! It’s freezing in there. The only down I think they have, other than that recommend it.

Every time we hit the winerys in the area, we most certainly end up here with a nice wine buzz. Every single time. I’d definitely recommend the tacos, specifically the lengua and tripa which they will fry up to a perfect crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Salsa bar is tops. Go for the light green one. Always great service and one of my favorite spot for tacos. The light at the end of the long dark tunnels that is touring vineyards for the promise of a free two ounce tasting pour.

This is a tough one. The food is good. The experience is not. I hope a bilingual restaranteur with some financial means comes in and fixes this place. Needs full on remodeling. Needs to take fly strips down and get their service act together. Fabulous location. This place is a goldmine but not being maximized. Two huge buildings but no seating! Salsa outside! No english speaking. Dirty… Come on amigos…

Yes this is an authentic Mexican restaurant. However they don’t have quality food. Their cuts of meats are the cheapest of the cheap and you can tell when you take a bite into your food whether it’s a taco, burrito, or torta. On very few occasions I’ve gotten food from there and it’s decent. I guess I would call it a hit and miss. Their salsas are also decent. My one thing I have ordered and was pretty good was their grilled whole(or half) chicken order comes with rice beans and tortillas. That’s been good. Their carnitas are also passable. Other than that I would rather go elsewhere. My mom took me here quite a few times but I stopped going soon as I found out they had failed their health inspection(a lot due to lack of keeping foods at proper temps) and had to even shut down for a day or two(I think) this was a few years back they could have gotten better by now. This is by far not my first choice(or second or third) this is just me being a little harsh because I can make most of these on my own at home and they taste yummy so my standards are a little high as far as Mexican food is concerned. You do have better options and I honestly think this stuff is a little overpriced for the quality.

Good authentic Mexican food. I really would rate them at a 3.5 but I gave them a 4 star raining since I didn’t want to rate them at three. However do not expect the same quality at events outside the restaurant. I tried their food at Celebrate Hillsboro and was very disappointed. Will get that food at 2.5.

This place easily has some of the best Mexican food around. Parking can be difficult and the person working the register might have some difficulty taking your order if you don’t speak Spanish, but whatever you get, you can guarantee is excellent Mexican food. I’ve been here about a half-dozen times now and my order was messed up twice, but the food I got was awesome anyway.

I can’t stop eating here. Maybe it’s because I was in despair for the last year thinking I’d never get as good of Mexican as I did in California, but since finding Ochoa’s my mouth is a taco hole. A friend urged me to try lengua and I am so, SO glad that I did because that is the single best meat on the menu. I urge all of you considering this restaurant to potentially go outside your comfort zone for it – I guarantee it’s nothing like you imagine! That is, unless you’re imagining it’s tender, loaded with flavor, and all around delicious. Walk in and you’ll see mostly(if not all) Hispanic people eating here. The menu is in Spanish. Is the décor fancy? No, but it’s clean enough. Is the service amazing? No, but this may just be due to a language barrier since I decided to give the middle finger to a quarter of my ancestry and take Japanese instead in school. I can tell you though that pretty much everything says, «AUTHENTIC.» So far I’ve tried the tacos, burritos, enchiladas, sopes, chalupas, and the tamales. Of those, only the tamale disappointed — the masa was tasty, but the meat inside was sparse and a little dry. The barbacoa was also not really a hit, but maybe that’s me being used to Chipotle’s. The avocado salsa that comes with the burritos is so good I keep eating it straight. And I still want more. If you’re craving Mexican, Ochoa’s is worth the drive from wherever you are in the Portland area.

Awesome fresh mexican food!!! Generous combo plates for $ 7. Not much in atmosphere but I’d rather have great food @ reasonable prices. Self service chip and salsa bar. Beer in the bottle. Indoor and outdoor seating. Definately give this place a try!

Ok so when I first moved to Hillsboro 11 years ago I attempted to try this place but left prior to ordering due to not speaking Spanish therefore not being able to determine what I was ordering, however throughout the years I kept hearing everyone say how great this place is… Let me tell you it is not. Beans and rice bland and greasy, tamales had very little meat in them and were almost all corn mush, tacos meat was fatty. Worst of all this place is filthy. Will not go back, will not recommend. Go to Peppers next door for great authentic Mexican!!!

Although not on the high end side of dining, this is authentic, and has lots of pictures of the meals. They are happy to make whatever u wish. Excellent meals, with authentic salsas and hot chips, we enjoyed it.

I live down the street from here so I eat here a few times a month. Great tacos, burritos and sopes. I has a very casual atmosphere so do not expect attentive service. The salsas are all great. They are self serve and so are the tortilla chips. This is the equivalent of a greasy spoon.(I mean that as a compliment.)

Last Saturday’s lunch at Ochoa’s was the best meal out I can remember. This was my 4th visit to the place in the past couple years. 2 of us left absolutely stuffed after lunch with 2 Dos Equis beers, and enough leftovers for both of us, all for under $ 23. This is not a place where you pay for fancy plates and silverware, some of the plates are Styrofoam and the forks are plastic. But the atmosphere is authentic and the food is amazing… Silverware or not — I give it 5 stars!

Trash everywhere. This place is dirty… which is usually the first sign that your food is going to taste good… The food was pretty good I will give them that. Some of the best and original cali mexican i ever had. Did I mention that the place was dirty and smelled like someone just skinned wild game and then wiped the floor with its innards? That bad. There is seriously trash everywhere. …I dont get it. These guys need to have a health inspector give them pointers and basics.

Best avocado salsa this side of the border. I go here just to buy a 32 oz. cup of the avocado salsa. Stop if you just need the greatest salsa in Portland. Keep reading if you need to know about the food. The $ 1 taco board reads legit meat choices: carne asada(steak), pollo asado(roasted chicken), lengua(cow’s tongue), cabeza(braised cow head), al pastor, barbacoa, carnitas(pork) and tripe. These are the Mexican«street style» tacos you are looking for. Meat, cilantro and onion. The loco deals don’t stop with $ 1 tacos. Ochoa’s boasts combo plates for $ 6. One of the combos is 2 enchiladas, 2 tacos, and 2 tamales. They have huge $ 7 burritos. Loco deals. This is legit Mexican food: cheap, filling and tasty. Then you drench them with their avocado salsa! Whooo! Green Liquid Crack! You can pour that on a Tijuana flip flop and it would taste good.
