Hands down, best car experience I have ever had. I am not car savvy and I worry about being taken advantage of at car repair shops. Not the case here! They took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my car in a way that I could understand and even made the effort to try and find my broken part for a lower cost than the dealer. They also put me up in a loaner car for a week. I am so happy to have found Z’s. I will not be taking my car anywhere else!

We own a NAPA Autocare Center in Parker AZ. A customer of ours was in Hillsboro and needed a warranty repair made. Not only did they make the repair in a timely repair, they put him in a car until the work was complete. If you live in the area, these are the people to trust…

I have been looking for a shop to work on my ’77 ford bronco which I use as a daily driver. Z’s actually came highly recommended to me from a different mechanic at a competitors shop!
Delbert, Gina and his team are just wonderful. Highly skilled, great communication and they really care about the work the do and for the customers they do the work for. They are trust worthy, honest and I would highly recommend them.

If you are reading this review then you are in the same boat I was in a few weeks ago. Your car is broken. As you sit and google different mechanic’s and hear every spiel there is out there about why you should bring your car to them, you finally come across this shop. Look at their name because it stands as a pillar to their philosophy. Car Care; not Fix-​It-​Jims or Repair-​And-​OverCharge. They care about your car. If you are anything like me then you have your garage queen sitting there needing that mechanic’s touch. Let Z’s Car Care do it.
I had just put a new engine in my car and found a few oil leaks. These guys where my immediate go to. They found exactly where the leak was coming from quickly and once they started working on it; they were finished in a prompt and professional manner.
As long as I live in the Oregon area these are my dedicated mechanics.

Z’s Car Care was one of the best automotive experiences I’ve ever had. I had major problems with my vehicle, and Delbert was honest and straightforward with me about it’s issues. He spent over an hour attempting to diagnose the problem. In the end, it could be fixed without a major overhaul to the engine. Delbert told me that if he couldn’t/didn’t fix it, then I didn’t pay, and I didn’t pay a penny for this diagnostic service.
He then took time to connect me with a salvage yard, that was interested in my vehicle, and arranged the inspection. I wasn’t satisfied with the offer, and ended up going another route. Delbert completely supported my decision.
During the purchase of my next vehicle, Z’s completed the pre-​sale inspections for me, for two different vehicles. They were honest about their concerns, with the first, and enthusiastically approved the second.
Delbert and his techs are knowledgeable, polite and provided timely, cost-​effective and competent service and were alway right, the FIRST TIME, in my experience.
I will recommend this company with my highest recommendation, and be returning here for any service needs that I may encounter.

Z’s always does a great job. I feel that they are honest about my vehicle and do a good job. They’ve never suggested any repairs that I felt were not necessary. Plus, everyone there is just so darned nice! I recommend them to anyone who will listen to me.

Delbert and his team over at Z’s are some of the best around. Alongside Gina, he and his team of master mechanics are completely dedicated to quality, and I promise you won’t find better customer service anywhere else. Once I dropped my car off with them with a laundry list of to-​dos, they set to work and had it done within the week (really, it was a lot of stuff). They made me feel like I was their only customer, and, once all was said and done, I drove my car away feeling completely satisfied not only with the work done but also with the more than fair pricing. I cannot think of a single bad thing to say about the team, nor would I want to. Even my dog loves them! If you need work done on your faithful steed, don’t even bother looking past this locally owned, family operated, customer-​centric and quality oriented outfit.

Perhaps «enough said» isn’t enough. It’s been awhile, but my story is this: I had a minivan that was experiencing odd electronic troubles. It was still drivable, but these were small annoying things like windshield wipers spontaneously turning on and off. I brought it in to Z’s and left it with them for the day. When I came back, he had not been able to figure out what was causing the problem. I asked him, «What do I owe you?» Even though he had looked at it a couple hours, he told me that he would not charge me for his time if he did not fix it.
As long as I lived in Hillsboro, Z’s received all of my automobile maintenance business.

Hunting for a used car can be an ordeal. Trying to find a good mechanic on short notice in an unfamiliar city for a pre-​purchase inspection can be even harder. Lucky for us, fellow Unilocalers tipped us off to Z’s Car Center, and Delbert, the owner, was gracious enough to squeeze us into his busy (no, really) lineup within a couple of hours.
Upon arrival, Delbert’s easygoing but professional manner quickly put us at ease. So much so, I was beginning to wonder a) if I was really at an auto shop and b) if he’d notice that we were (ok, still are) female, ripe for the advantage-​taking (Bad Past Experience rears its ugly head). As if on cue, while he was writing up the initial paperwork, a woman dropped by to give him fresh cucumbers as a small «thank you» for helping her relative on short notice. He was humble and grateful for the gesture. I thought, «Wow, this guy is the real deal”– unless he had a call button under his desk for such occasions– ok, that’s just the Bad Past Experience talking again.
After the inspection, Delbert took the time to explain each line item, answered any and all questions related (and unrelated) to the car, and offered sound advice on formulating a fair offer. He gave us ballpark figures for many of the needed repairs, but since he wanted to be as thorough as possible, he offered to call around for the parts and e-​mail a more detailed and accurate estimate.
Was Z’s offering the cheapest inspection we found in town? No, but it offered a more thorough inspection for just a few bucks more than the dealerships. Did we get the car? Unfortunately, no; there’s just no helping unrealistic expectations. On the bright side, we found an honest and reliable mechanic which, as many know, is Priceless.

How do you know you’ve found a good mechanic? Here’s a clue — it’s not the guy with the empty and spotless shop. Delbert is always busy, but he’ll squeeze you in.
We used to have a muffler and radiator shop here in town that was known for its honesty. The owner of that shop, on retiring, told me about Delbert. Z’s Car Care could be counted on to be just as honest in his dealings as we’ve come to know — and it’s turned out to be true.
Honest does not mean cheap — expensive repairs are still expensive, but Delbert won’t steer you into unnecessary repairs.
