History

Established in 1924.

In 1924, Stein Basnight, a graduate of UNC, began S. H. Basnight Hardware selling residential and commercial hardware in eastern North and South Carolina. As the years progressed, Stein’s sons, Bill Basnight and Jesse Basnight, joined their father along with B.A. «Sandy» Hoft, a son-​in-​law. Later still, Jesse Basnight, Jr. and Steve Basnight (sons of Jesse Sr.), as well as Terry Basnight and Don Basnight (children of Bill) joined our firm.

Today, Basnight’s provides products for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings such as: universities, schools, hospitals, churches, manufacturing facilities, and many fine residences, hotels, and condominiums.
