Established in 1976.

In 1976, The Hair-​Designers opened one of the first salons on the island, «The Vogue Stylon.» In 1977, a second salon was opened in the Hyatt Hotel (now the Hilton Head Marriot Resort & Spa). In 1981, the two salons combined under the current name, «The Hair-​Designers.»

I went here for an up-​do and makeup before my wedding on HHI. Sandy, who worked on both my hair and makeup, did a great job. I had no idea what type of up-​do I wanted and she very quickly came up with a design that complemented my face and hair type. The up-​do stayed up all night without frizzing (outdoor wedding on the water) and was easy to take down when the festivities were over. The makeup was natural looking but more than I would normally wear, which was perfect for the occasion. I would highly recommend Sandy and was extremely happy with the results she produced!

I went to this establishment to get an up-​do for a wedding and the woman refused to do my hair the way I asked. She did a rushed, sloppy job and by the time I got to my car the bottom of the bun fell out. Needless to say, I had to take it all out before the wedding. The woman who did my hair was rude and clearly inexperienced with doing hair, I would not recommend it, it was an all around bad experience.
