Specialties
Since opening its doors in 2007, the Scarlet Oak Tavern has become a mainstay of the South Shore dining scene. It menu focuses on updated American classics using locally-sourced foods. A significant portion of its produce comes from its own farm, the Gibbet Hill Farm in Groton, MA. Menu items range from Black Angus NY strip steak to brick oven fired pizzas to potato-crusted haddock over a corn and bacon chowder.
History
Established in 2007.
Eleanor Roosevelt called Hingham’s Main Street «the prettiest Main Street in America,» and we’ve tried to honor that sentiment with our careful restoration of one of Hingham’s most beloved buildings and historic restaurants. We love being a part of such rich history, and we feel it makes the restaurant that much more special. Scarlet Oak Tavern is a place where locals can gather with friends and family and enjoy a great meal or celebrate a milestone event in a truly memorable setting.
