We offer fine art of New England and custom picture framing on premises.

Our expansive collection of the premier mouldings also includes 22-​karat gold and 12-​karat white gold leaf hand-​made frames of the highest quality traditional materials made on Long Island; as well as premium hardwood frames from Boulder, CO, which have superb finishes, are elegant and make an excellent value. They are made using only renewable, North American hardwoods such as walnut, hard maple, cherry, white oak, and ash.

We are committed to the advancement of both developing artists and those with established reputations. For more than a decade, this Gallery has supported the arts and the artistic community, and has been home to a number of shows by prominent plein-​air artists. We offer many opportunities to meet and learn from artists who display here. Many Gallery artists engage in the plein-​air tradition of painting; a blend of a unique combination of fresh color, accurate values, and real life based compositions.

History

Established in 2002.

South Street Gallery is an outgrowth of a forty-​year family business. It all started with Hingham Upholstering Co. but during 2002 and 2003 the upholstery slowly closed down.

Meet the Manager

Kate S.

Manager

Kate is the face of South Street Gallery. She’s been the gallery manager since July ’02 (and the Gallery opened in January ’02). She is the one who helps customers with anything they need and/​or are looking for, as well as who does the picture framing, and who simply runs the business.
