The late Dr. Alex Shigo, father of modern arboriculture, encouraged up and coming tree care professionals, in his seminal book «Touch Trees,» to physically interact with trees and thus get a better understanding of how to take care of them. I received his sagely advice and apply it to my daily work pruning, removing, cabling, or planting trees.
