Granted, I’m a sucker for this fat knights of the hibachi round table style dining experience, but this food is amazing, it really is. Get the hibachi steak, fried rice, and alllllllllllll the white sauce and you can thank me later. I really love the atmosphere of this restaurant, too. Sure, it’s not flashy, it’s outdated Japanese decorations and dimly lit but not in a mood lighting sort of way, but it’s always warm in here, the size is cozy and not overwhelming, the bathrooms are clean, and the 25 cent York patties on the way out the door are a welcome touch.

i absolutely LOVE ichiban’s hibachi, not to mention that they cook it in front of you, too. whatever protein they use — chicken, steak, tofu — you name it, i’ll love it. i have yet to find a hibachi restaurant in manhattan that’s as good as ichiban but until then, can’t wait to go back!

We(2 adults, 2 yo and 5 yo) ate dinner including both meats on the grill and sushi. Everyone really enjoyed the food, which was both served quickly and delicious. Will visit again if we ever return to Chattanooga. The prices were very affordable.

Great food! Since the entertainment is just as important as the food in this type of restaurant, I’m only giving it a four. They need to work on the entertainment aspect.

This is the worst Japanese Steakhouse I have ever been to. No show no personality from the cook(not chef). I also thought the lobster was bad as in tainted I eft it on my plate

LOVELOVELOVE this place. I’ve been there twice and both times have been amazing. The first time I got the chicken hibachi grill and the second time I got the shrimp and scallops. Both times I got SOMUCHFOOD. Totally worth what you pay for it for the quality/quantity of food and the entertainment value.

THISISMYFAVORITEJAPANESEHIBACHIGRILL I’ve been going to this Ichiban while visiting my grandparents since the early 90’s and have always had fond memories of the food and overall dining experience. The service has always been fast and friendly with the preperation turned itno a show by their skilled chefs. Onion volcanoes, knife flipping, egg juggling and even more to keep everyone oohing and awwing. I always get a double or even triple portion of the fried rice and take some home if there’s any leftover. It’s just awesome. Go with the surf and turf combo and it’s all good.
