At Olympic Karate School, we offer Shotokan Karate, Tai Chi, Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Step, Zumba Sentao, Zumba kids& Zumba kids jr., Cardio Kickboxing, Full body mineral wraps and ION cleanses by a licensed technician. We also offer nutrition services through our Health Coach licenesed through Zumba.

History

Established in 1986.

Olympic Karate school was first founded by Bill Turner and Richard Demerse in 1961 over its history the school has had 3 World Champions. It’s students have competed and won in local and state tournaments also. Olympic Karate Students age 4 and up. Students both male and female learn various hand and foot techniques, along with basic blocks and counters, they participate in sparring and forms and are not rushed through belts. A student make take 3 – 6 months to earn 1 belt. In the process they learn discipline courage focus and respect. Many students that come in are timid or being bullied but all will and have changed within a year with classes. Many students have failed or showed no interest in sports but have found their nitche in Karate where everybody fits in. Sensei John Nemtuda is an 8th Degree black belt with 41 years experience.

Business Owner

John Nemtuda has been involved with weight lifting and martial arts all of his life. John walked into his first martial arts class in 1975 and was inspired by his instructors George Simesa and Richard Demerse, who trained world champions. John also followed suit with his own world champion all from the same school. John has dedicated 41 years of service in training himself, children and adults. The students are trained in various blocks, strikes, sparring and forms and many self defense technques in the Shotokan karate style. They learn courage, self control, respect, discipline and focus. Children that need special attention are given the care they need before and after class. Sensei John Nemtuda is an 8th Degree Black belt and hyas taught classes in 5 different cities, also at Indiana University and the Steel Mills. Sensei John encourages people of all ages to call and schedule a free class or stop by to observe one.
