Great attention to detail and elegance throughout the venue. Excellent environment to host one of the kind event! A must to visit in Hoboken.

I recently rented the Barsky Gallery to throw a cocktail-​style party for my fiancé’s birthday party (which — surprise — was also our defacto engagement party). We had around 75 guests, around half of whom live in Hoboken, none of whom had been to the gallery, and all of whom were excited about this hidden gem in the back of town. There was ample space, even with a half-​dozen cocktail tables set up around the room. Al coordinated the table and linen rentals as well as two staffers to work the bar and keep an eye on the spread; the party was an incredible success and I could not imagine the guest of honor having a better time.
The rental for the gallery and Al’s preferred party supplier was fair, and he is super-​quick to respond via Unilocal,phone, or email.
Everyone who asked how I found the gallery was surprised to hear «A Google search led me to Unilocal.» If that’s how you landed here too… you’ve come to the right place!

This past weekend, my fiancé and I had our baby shower here (50 people) at the Barsky gallery and it was fantastic! Al (the owner) is a great person to work with! He’s very responsive and answered all my 100 questions about the set up of the baby shower. He set up the rentals for us and we were able to bring our own food and décor to the art gallery. On the day of the shower, Al helped during set up and was present to make sure that everything went well and assisted when he was needed! This was such a pleasurable experience for my fiancé and I, and we will definitely use this beautiful space again in the future! Thank you Al!

Last weekend, I threw a bridal shower for my friend at Barsky Gallery for about 30 people. We served hors d’oeuvres, an entrée, and dessert (buffet style). The experience was nothing shy of perfection and I give Al (the owner) lots of credit for this. The gallery’s well-​curated artwork provides a stunning backdrop and you can do a little or a lot with the floor space to make your event special. Having the event at an art gallery provided a unique spin on a traditional event. I got tons of compliments and everyone loved the venue choice! Al was so patient and helpful with my questions and requests– especially regarding the table and chair set-​up, food vendors, and music. He happily accommodated my last-​minute additions and even responded promptly while he was out-​of-​the-​county on vacation. I can’t say enough great things about Al’s professionalism and poise and the passion that he has for his gallery is evident. I am already thinking about how I can host another event at Barsky Gallery. If you are on-​the-​fence about renting the space, run to visit the gallery (or just take my word for it) — it will impress!

I recently threw my friend’s bridal shower at the Barsky Gallery. I’m still getting compliments on the venue! Al (the owner) of the gallery was amazing to work with — he is super accommodating and gives you recommendations to help you figure out what you need and how to set up the venue. The space itself is absolutely beautiful, if you are looking for something unique to offer your guests, this is definitely the best in the area. The price is very reasonable especially for the amount of personal attention Al gives each of his clients. I would highly recommend this venue!

I had my 40^th birthday cocktail party at the Barsky Gallery. Al was so easy to work with — he made a great reccomendation for a caterer and for the set up of the gallery. All of my guests loved the space and the art installation. The space is very cool and unique. I would absolutely host another event here.

My wife rented the Barsky for my 40^th birthday. I didn’t want a huge party with a dj as I’m not the big party type. The Barsky Gallery is a great space for a private event and Al was very accomadating to our needs. Our guests enjoyed the current exhibit and it is very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this space for a private event. Al, we thank you for your hospitality and the great recommendation with the caterer and we look forward to hosting an event in the near future.

We had our engagement party here (70 people) and it was simply fantastic. Everything was perfect — the space, the art and the location (not too far from the PATH train). The owner (Al Barsky) was overly accommodating and was at our event to ensure everything ran smoothly (which it did). And the price for the space was very reasonable.

My wife and I had our baby shower at Barsky Gallery this past Sunday. Al, the proprietor and namesake of the gallery, was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive and accommodating, and let us decorate the space as we saw fit. We had about 60 guests at our party, and the space still felt very open and free-​flowing. The venue rental fee is more than reasonable, and you can even rent bar stools, folding chairs and tables from a rental company Al works with. Highly, highly recommended!

We had my baby shower at the Barsky Gallery and everything from the beginning planning stages to the final event was flawless and above my expectations! Not only is it a beautiful event space with spectacular artwork, but Al was so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. He was also very helpful in choosing our caterer and rental furniture, etc. If you’re looking for an event venue for your next event, I’d highly suggest you check out this place. It will be well worth it!

I just hosted my sister and her fiancé’s Jack & Jill wedding shower at the Barsky Gallery this past Saturday and just had to leave a review. I could not have found a more perfect venue for my event.
My sister and her beau are Hoboken residents (I am not), so of course I had to find a place in Hoboken to host their wedding shower for guests coming from both Brooklyn and suburban NJ. After some shopping around and many unanswered phone calls, I found that Al was the most responsive point of contact among all the private party venue managers in town. Here’s someone who answers a phone/​email and talks to you like a normal person!
The venue rental fee was in line with many other spaces I was researching that accommodated my guest list of 40 attendees, and it wasn’t hard to make my choice once I visited the gallery. Especially when I saw all the free parking on the street and in the lot across the way! The location’s proximity to the train station and parking availability made the trip easy for both NYC and NJ residents to attend.
The artwork is all beautiful, evocative, and uplifting. I saw 2 separate exhibits here, and one of the things I was worried about when booking the venue was that we wouldn’t see the newest exhibit until the day of the shower. Apparently I had nothing to worry about since both exhibits I saw were colorful and mood-​boosting, the colors offering a great contrast to the modern and minimalist black, white, and gray of the space itself.
Al was also able to recommend a caterer he frequently works with (Hoboken Catering) who also did a splendid job, largely thru email beforehand and on the day of in my absence. I ran into some issues on the day of the shower (USPS would get a 2 star rating from me), leading me and my family to arrive around the same time the first guests were rolling in, but Al and our caterer had everything set up to perfection so it was all ready to go when we got there. All in all a very turn-​key experience! Oh, and the best part? Several of my guests were impressed enough to say that it was the BEST shower they had ever attended.
Do yourself a favor and visit the gallery.
Also — I saw a check-​in offer for a free glass of wine with your check-​in when you visit! What could it hurt?

Hosted my first small business launch. Our guest loved the venue and most importantly they loved the service from Al himself. The service Al brought to my event was phenomonal. I did not have to bring much supplies because of all of the perfect classy supplies the Barsky Gallery brings along with beautiful art. I plan to host my quarterly network events with Al and the Barsky Gallery. The Barsky Gallery is Perfect!

My sister hosted my bridal shower at Barsky Gallery in March and it was amazing! This is a great option if you want to change things up from the basic (sometimes boring) bridal shower brunch. We held a cocktail hour themed event in the evening and it was such a hit! Al, the owner, is incredibly helpful and accommodating. He suggested a caterer who was easy to work with and the food was great. The space is absolutely beautiful — very tasteful art that helped create conversation for all of the women throughout the night. Since the place is already gorgeous, you only need to bring food, booze and rent chairs/​tables if you need them. Parking is also provided across the street, which is hard to come by in Hoboken. The fee is more reasonable than what you might find in NYC so you really can’t find a better deal for what you get. I highly recommend Barsky Gallery for any event and hope to have a reason to host another of my own there soon :)

A cozy, inspiring space, Barksy Gallery is perfect for all types of get-​togethers and events. We hosted my sister’s Bridal Shower at the gallery. Its atmosphere of elegance and warmth encouraged mingling among guests who were meeting for the first time. Admiring beautiful artwork while enjoying delicious food, drinks, and good company, made this shower a unique and memorable experience. Al was happy to accommodate and help from start to finish. He made the planning process simple and enjoyable. Al and the gallery exceeded all expectations and everyone was truly impressed. I’d love to host another event at Barsky Gallery – what a gem!

We hosted a Chanukah party at Barsky Gallery last month. Not only did our guests all comment on how much they loved the gallery but Al, the owner, was amazing from beginning to end. He helped with the planning, set up, and during the event. He was very accommodating, professional, and full of creative but practical ideas and solutions. He has a great sound system built into the ceiling and whatever furniture we needed in-​house (rent-​free!), both of which made our lives a lot easier. Last but not least, there was free parking across the street — unheard of in Hoboken! Thank you, Al! I am looking forward to hosting future events at the gallery and would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice event space in Hoboken.

Barsky Gallery is a warm and inspiring venue for private events. I recently attended a Chanukah party held here. It was just the right mix of intimate and sophisticated, a tucked away space that exceeded everyone’s expectations with thought-​provoking art framing the classy loft-​like setting. Everything came together so well in large part because of Al’s welcoming and generous personality as a host.

We had a launch party for
here. AL was friendly and helpful when we initially visited the space. He was more than willing to make accommodations to suit our personal needs like move pictures, furniture l etc. He provided covered tables at no additional charge. And you can’t beat the rental fee. He was more than helpful during the actual event which took place last weekend. He opened his office up to my staff and let them set up. He allowed us to play music from his personal computer and when the paid time was up he didn’t rush us out the door. Actually told us to relax and continue to enjoy our event. Needless to say I would recommend Barsky Gallery to anyone looking to host an event and I will look to definately throw more events here.

I held my sister’s baby shower here in October. The space is absolutely beautiful and the service is top notch. Al, the owner was very accommodating from start to finish. He is very thorough and helpful in providing vendors for furniture rental and food catering. He helped with the décor/​setup and even managed the music for me when I was playing babyshower games. The guests are still raving about the venue and turnout.
Al also provided an ample amount of parking space to my party across the street, free of charge. My family and I will surely rent this venue again and recommend it to everyone!
NO BETTER PLACE TO RENT IN HOBOKEN!

Al was amazing! He was ALWAYS available. He was extremely helpul and resolved any minimal concern about the party. He always had a solution and awesome suggestions that made my party the talk of the town. All the beautiful paintings and the art makes the venue exotic and elegant. You dont need anything more! Al Barsky is fantastic! I don’t have the words to describe how wonderful Al was during the process of arranging the party as well as during the event itself!!! Also is a convenient location! Definitely I will be renting this venue again!

What a lovely space! Who knew that this was even here? A small but well organized, clean, and modern space to display some fantastic artwork for sale. The owner was kind enough to have us here for a Unilocal event and everyone was very accommodating and kind. The art work is definitely expensive but art, as I understand it, is an investment so why not start by supporting local artists? I enjoyed the flip books, also, so you could really spend some time carefully looking at more than just the wall art. Worth checking out, for sure.

This place is a hidden gem in Boken, right off Observer Highway. They owners/​staff are very night. The art on the walls and on display is superb. It’s a wonderful place to hold an event, like an engagement party, or something. It’s a 5 star setting, but it’s extremely small, which is why I only gave it 4. If you live in Boken, go visit Barsky!!!

This gallery is small, but it packs a punch. I’ve visited the gallery a handful of times now and have had the opportunity to check out a few different exhibits and I’ve loved them all. The space itself is perfect: intimate, bright white walls, perfect lighting and excellent art adorning said walls. The owner Al is pretty awesome and bends over backwards to give you a great experience. I like to add that Barsky Gallery is part of and really taking charge in the Hoboken Art Walk — check it out and support local arts!
Overall, if you’re looking for something different to do, stop by, have a glass of wine and check out some art.

This is a pretty awesome gallery. I came here for a Unilocal event but was interested to come here when it first opened. The place was modern with a bunch of expensive art that I wish I could buy. It was a little warm in there but it could have been because there was a bunch of Unilocal elites or the wine and champagne that was provided. There was plenty of space and I’m glad to see this art exhibit showcase local artists. It was like being in a mini exhibit at the MOMA.
This is a well worth visit!

I was here for a Unilocal Elite White Party event, as my friend’s +1. I love little local spaces, and this place did not disappoint. They had some really beautiful pieces of art. The director said about 50% of what they display is from local artists, which I think is great!

Great gallery in Hoboken with industrial feel outside. I really liked Ksenia Sapinkova’s water painting. I bought one print and plan to go back to get some more. They have wide variety of contemporary art, curator Al was very helpful and knowledgable. They do rent the space for the party as well. Nice art venue in Hoboken!!!

My friend and I recently visited the Barsky Gallery as part of a Unilocal Elite event and we were both really impressed with the space and the art on display. There was a wide variety of styles of paintings and there were even a few big books of watercolor paintings, sketches and lino prints.
The space itself is clean and modern, with some seating in the form of contemporary white couches. The gallery is small enough to host an intimate event, but big enough that you can circulate around comfortably without bumping into things (or people).
It’s in a kind of industrial area, but is still easily accessibly and only a 15-​minute walk from Hoboken’s main drag.
I would definitely recommend this gallery for something like a swanky birthday party or classy engagement party. Great vibe.
