I spilled coffee on my macbook air. After going way above and beyond in trying to save it – which unfortunately didn’t work because the video chip was dead – they transferred all of the files off my hard drive onto my new computer. Jeff charged nothing for the diagnostics and a tiny fraction of what a repair place in Manhattan would’ve charged to transfer the files. Lessons learned: 1) Never have a cup of coffee anywhere near your macbook 2) Always go straight to Jeff if you have a tech problem.

I brought my computer here, it was completely dead and he not only managed to repair it, he didn’t charge me as if was fairly simple and then showed me how to fix it should the problem come back. Will definitely come back

Great guy. I brought in my touch screen PC when the LCD was coming off the back panel. Jeff called me the next day saying it was an easy fix and I could come pick it up. When I picked it up he explained the problem and some tips on how to prevent it, I walked out the door with no charge. He definitely saved me a hefty charge and headache if I would have shipped it to the manufacturer or brought it into a Staples and the like.

Can’t say it enough. Jeff is the best computer tech anywhere in the area. Spilled coffee on my 09 Macbook and Jeff found compatible motherboard, keyboard cover, etc. and fixed at virtually cost. He even fixed the DVD drive which was broken and replaced the bottom cover with new one.

I was referred to Jeff by my neighbor who had work done by CTA. I was very happy with Jeff’s work. My computer was rendered unusable by malware and Jeff removed it and the computer is as good as new. Jeff is personable and the work was performed in a timely manner and the charge was reasonable. I plan to use Jeff’s services for future computer repair needs.

Jeff went above the call of duty to help me, when I was in complete panic mode! His patience, time, and positive attitude make the customer service at CTA exceptional. Absolutely the one and only place to go for computer help.

I’m picky and feel like I don’t often get the kind of service that deserves a rave review. Well, I can’t believe how lucky I was to find Jeff and his team at CTA Hoboken when I was nearby visiting friends this month. My laptop screen had broken and I was desperate to get some work done. CTA fixed the screen in under a day, and get this… it was less than half of what Staples had quoted me!
Not only that, but Jeff mentioned that he can do a lot of work remotely, so I can still rely on CTA even when I’m not local. I’m thrilled I found Jeff and CTA. He is the nicest guy and really knows his stuff. Oh, and I picked up a few ink cartridges since the prices were so reasonable. I highly recommend CTA!

I visited CTA because my laptop had a virus and was causing it not to operate correctly. I found other ratings on this store on Unilocal so called for an estimate. Jeff called me back promptly with all the information I requested. Because I needed my laptop fixed quickly for business I dropped it off Saturday and he was able to turn it around by that next Monday morning.
I also had some older computer items that I needed assistance with. Jeff was able to transfer some files for me off of an older PC and put it onto my laptop so I could donate the PC as well as hookup an older printer to my current laptop. The rate was very reasonable for all items and I was happy with the work. CTA also carries additional items like ink cartridges and paper at a reasonable rate. All of my purchases I was able to pay with Paypal which made me even happier. I would highly recommend CTA to anyone in the area.

I recently took my computer to be clean after a ton of virus started to ruin everything. I explained Jeff all the problems that I was having and he returned my computer as new and much better as it was when I bought two months ago. Great job! I will def go back there anytime I need!

After reading the positive reviews here I decided to give this small business a shot. Boy am I glad I did. I unfortunately cracked the screen on my laptop. Bummed at the unexpected expenditure I searched online to see how to replace myself. I saw part II of a video and decided I would go for it. I took a chance and bought a screen on my own and started to take apart my laptop. Fear of removing things from my motherboard made me stop.
I took the laptop and part to CTA and asked if he could try to use the part I ordered. Normally some shops will refuse. Not here. Within 24 hours I had a call from CTA confirming it was the right part and telling me I could pick it up. They charged me for 1 hours worth of labor even though it took them slightly above 1 hour.
The service was personal and quick and the pricing was more than fair. Best Buy would have charged about $ 500 plus the cost of the part. Use these guys if you have any hardware issues whatsoever.

Let me start off by saying that while I’m avid Unilocal user, I am not a frequent Unilocal poster. In fact, this is the first review I’ve ever written and it’s because of the great service I received and I think this place deserves more stars.
Jeff was really courteous and helpful. My computer problem was taken care of quickly (within 24 hours) and he was upfront about the timing and the cost. I will definitely return to Jeff and recommend him to my friends with computer issues.

I dropped off a broken external hard drive and was told that I would get a call later that evening evening with my quote. I called at least a week later was told that something was «inconclusive,» which I assume means it was forgotten about, apologized to and was told that I’ll get a call that day or the next day. It is now a week later and I still have not heard back.

Bad service, guy was more worried about telling me anything (being liable) than helping a customer get the right part which I was going to install myself and take full responsibility for, and i know a lot about PCs

I can’t begin to express the gratitude and appreciation I have for Jeff and the staff at CTA.
My MacBook decided to get a little crazy one night and drank a little too much wine. It didn’t turn on, so I brought it to CTA since they were the only computer repair store offering free computer service if they couldn’t fix the problem. Although it was a timely process, Jeff sent my computer to some expert Apple friends in Cali at no charge to me, who confirmed that my computer was long gone.
A few months later I was in the process of selling the MacBook for parts, and returned to CTA to have my files pulled onto an external hardrive and have the MacBook hardrive wiped clean. Jeff recommended that I keep the hardrive as opposed to wiping it, offered some advice on pricing that I should expect selling the machine for parts, and even called some colleagues to see if they were interested in buying it.
Upon payment (typically $ 85/​hour), Jeff said that his team had decided I had been through enough hardship with my expensive loss, and said the service was on the house. I was shocked — as well as reminded that its frequently better to go with the small mom & pop shop over a corporate enterprise. You may wait a little longer than with a computer repair chain, but the service and care put into your situation is well worth the wait.

My MacBook Pro was in sad sad shape. Jeff took the time to make sure it got fixed correctly and well within my budget. He was great at keeping me informed of progress and fixed things outside the regular problem.
He also fixed a friend’s computer which was a battery issue. Her fix was simpler and he got it back to her in just a few days for much less than Apple wanted!
I highly recommend CTA for getting me back to mac!

When years ago the hard drive of my desktop computer crashed, I called The Big Electronics Superstore. They charged me $ 125 to come over to my apartment and just DIAGNOSE the problem. It would have cost me another $ 200 to recover my data. That’s when I turned to a local solution. CTA (now Hoboken Tech Solutions) didn’t charge me a penny until they recovered my data, which they did within hours. And the cost was a fraction of what The Big Electronics Superstore would have charged. The next time I had an issue with my netbook I went straight to CTA. Jeff, the owner, listened patiently while I explained my problem. He researched the make and model of my netbook and discovered that my warranty partially covered the repair. He easily could have charged me the full price to repair my netbook, but he didn’t. Not only did he see to it that my netbook was fixed, he added improvements such as additional memory at no extra cost.
Recently, I suspected my laptop had a virus (yes, computer number 3!). Jeff connected remotely and sat with me for four hours, running software to clean my computer and look for any other issues.
Jeff and Hoboken Tech Solutions can handle anything, from large company networking to home computer iTunes setup. He makes house calls or connects remotely. He offers storage solutions so that you never have to worry about losing your data or pictures. If you are looking to buy a new computer, Jeff will research the best brands for your needs. If your computer needs repairs, you can drop it off at his conveniently located Hoboken store and trust that it will be fixed quickly and accurately. Jeff will not stop looking for a solution to whatever problem you bring him. He treats each customer as a human being, not just a dollar sign, as so much big chains do. He knows his customers by name. There is a reason he has so many returning customers. Jeff keeps up with the latest technology.
Hoboken Tech Solutions is one of the last great mom-​and-​pop businesses in Hoboken. Don’t bother looking anywhere else.

I won’t go here again. My laptop wouldn’t get past start up screen, he got it to come back on and saved my data. It worked for a couple of weeks but much slower and the fan never stopped running – and it died again. I took it to a great place across the river and they fixed CTA’s mistakes, I got it back in a day and it was half the price. I won’t go to CTA again

This is a real find, as other computer repair services I’ve used here in town, were very pricey, rushed, and kind of curt, each time I have had them do any servicing on my computers.
Have used CTA three or four times now, and each time, came away feeling that the quality of the work was excellent and the price was very reasonable.
Jeff, the owner, makes home visits to repair computers, printers, and do basic wiring of all electronic equipment. He also does phone support.
He is a certified Apple dealer, and gets discounts when ordering Apple laptops, and other Apple parts and products for you. This last detail is important, as my Apple
laptop is approaching six years old, and Apple will no longer repair it. I will probably need a new one by January, and Jeff is the guy I will go to when that time comes,
since he can get me a 20% discount on a new model, that is shipped directly to me from Apple.
Living in Hoboken seems to be getting more and more expensive. This computer service is a major great value, and I won’t go anywhere else in town.
