After obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992, Dr. Teixeira joined the Skeletal Biology Research Group at the Univ. of Penn. School of Dental Medicine. In 1997, she obtained her Certificate of Orthodontics and a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. In 2001, she completed her DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) and Ph.D. in Developmental Biology. Dr. Teixeira’s research interest has focused on the biology of cartilage, bone formation and growth. Her research is funded by the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research, enabling her to maintain a full-​time research laboratory, CTOR, at the NYU College of Dentistry.

She currently serves as an Associate Professor at the NYU College of Dentistry, serves as Chairperson of the NYU Dept. of Orthodontics, and also has an appointment in the Department of Basic Science & Craniofacial Biology. Additionally, she supervises the care of patients in the clinic of the Department of Orthodontics.

We signed up for the treatment for our son, it’s a three year commitment and a lot of money — they are definitely on the high end of prices for this dental treatment. Now I found out the doctor is only going to be open 6 days a month — WTF! We will never get an appt — I wish we had never started this treatment but we are totally stuck in the agreement. I think it’s unethical for a doctor to sign up a patient for a 3 year program than basically duck out of being there for it. I really really regret going here.

Dr. Teixeira, Lisa, and their entire staff are amazing– they made my visits very enjoyable. I had recurring jaw pain caused by an overbite and an orthodontist in Manhattan suggested braces; I went for a second opinion to CTNP and I’m so glad I did– I’m using a mouth guard at night which I obviously prefer much more to braces! Thank you!

I still have a year to go but I see the difference.
Dr. Teixera has been so caring and professional that I can’t wait to go and see her every month.
Lisa is very friendly. She will do anything to help you. It can be pretty expensive but they have some great coverage plans (monthly plan without paying interest).

I went to CTNP for over 3 years. My teeth are literally in the same condition that they were in when I started. I went through thousands of dollars, countless hours of time, and some pain to result in nothing better than where I was before I started.
One reason for the high dissatisfaction is that the office is a revolving door (i.e. high turnover) for temporary doctors’. The office uses a large number of different temporary doctors to provide treatment. I saw «5» different doctors throughout my treatment at CTNP. The result was ineffective and inefficient orthodontic treatment that does not put the patient in any better position than from where they started.
I ended up getting a second opinion from a highly regarded orthodontist. I made sure she was the only person who was going to provide treatment. However, I decided not to pursue additional treatment because another $ 5,000 on top of what I paid CTNP was just to much at this time. Part of me feels like I should ask for a refund from CTNP for my out of pocket expenses. I honestly feel like I was misled about my treatment. To feel this way after all the money, time, and pain I went through is very frustrating.
I would never recommend this location.

It was bittersweet leaving my last appointment with CTNP ortho a few weeks ago. I had such a wonderful invisalign experience with this team! I’m a pain in the arse when it comes to scheduling since I work in advertising and am constantly traveling, but Lisa and the the staff worked with me to reschedule anytime I needed to with no issues. Unfortunately my new agency didn’t cover my invisalign mid-​treatment. Lisa called the insurance company to see if they would consider covering the balance and ended up working out a manageable payment plan with me. If you’re considering CTNP ortho for your invisalign — I would highly recommend! Their open office hours are slightly ridiculous, but the experience and their professionalism will make up for it! Side note: old silent movies play in the waiting area. Pretty cool.

I take my 3 children to this practice, and I have been very satisfied with the results. They have a very modern philosophy, and so if you believe in early treatment, this is the practice for you. My children’s teeth are beautiful.
