I am not a gamer but my son plays so I frequent Gamestop more often than I would like. The Sales associates here are always very helpful, friendly and in my case patient when I have to confirm game names or such. I like the Hoboken location the best because they aren’t pushy about preorders and take the time to ensure you are 100% satisfied. Customer Service is slowly declining in a lot of businesses today. Keep up the great work Hoboken Gamestop Staff!

I’m a former Gamestop employee and I have to admit, this shop is way better then the one I worked in. The employees here are generally awesome and always up to talk video games. There’s never pressure to buy any games or systems. I’ll wander in here at times just to say hey and talk games and everyone is always super cool. You find the top Game Advisors, no technologists and the best Gamestop around for all your video game needs!

Honestly I hate Gamestop, however they have a monopoly on game stores and my laziness keeps me from going to the city. All that aside there is one thing that keeps me coming to this store, is the staff. I value good customer service higher than just about anything and this store is top notch.

GAMESTOP is a HORRIBLE corporation. They treat their employees like S*** and their customers even worse. With that being said, most if not all independent game stores have closed down, and those of us who game have little choice other than to visit these horrid stores. I must say however, I was very pleasantly surprised to find such a friendly and helpful staff at this location. I’m in the store once or twice a month and the staff knows me by name. They know the system I own and they know what games I like. The store is always in pristine condition, and the line always moves fast. This GAMESTOP deserves the 5 stars not because GAMESTOP deserves it, but because of the staff at this location. Thanks guys, you’re really great itsBUTTERCUP is my gamer tag on 360

A great store to pick up video games but unfortunately the Hoboken store is a little small. It has just about all the games you are looking for on the newest systems but just pulled all its inventory for the previous generation. Things like guitar peripherals are in short supply too. The staff however is awesome and they will be giving away free Ben and Jerrys when Gears of War 3 comes out next week!

I go to Gamestop for the used games. Period. If you wait awhile after a game is released, the used copies are usually pretty cheap. For example, I just picked up Bioshock for Xbox 360 for $ 9.99 + tax The staff here are always really nice(mostly guys, I don’t recall seeing a girl here). They are always willing to give you recommendations and chat at length about gaming(or life, in general). I even hung around for a bit chatting with them while my boyfriend gamed on the PS3 — even when it was around closing time. They’re not overly pushy either to make you buy stuff, which is great. Just be careful: I did buy a copy of L.A. Noire when it first came out. I did not open it, and so I went to another Gamestop to return it. The lady at that Gamestop freaked out because the copy was actually opened and re-shrinkwrapped. I did get my money back, but she did say to watch out for things like that(how was I supposed to know…)

Most people hate on Gamestop. Heck, I hate on Gamestop! However, the Hoboken branch is really good. The managers and Sales Associates aren’t overly pushy with the preorders. They are also extremely knowledgeable about their products. They have recently had a lot of great deals and I’ve been surprised at ho helpful the staff at the store has been. Will I be preordering or selling back my games? No. But when it comes to great deals on recent(within the past 6 years) games and a wide variety of titles this place nails it.
