Salon Gatto

Salon Gatto is everything you could hope for. I found them on Unilocal and chose to come here because of the outstanding rating and all the photos.
When I spend a lot of money at a salon, I always hope that I will have the best experience possible. Not only is Monique extremely talented with her coloring and cutting skills, but she is great at consultation and making sure you will end up with something you love. I can’t wait to go back for my next cut and color!
Also, the salon itself is beautiful and feels high end. They serve complimentary wine too… and other beverages. I can’t imagine ever going to another salon after my experience here.

I went back for a hair painting/​balayage appointment with Kodomu. He is a true artist! He updated my natural color with leftover blonde ends from a year ago to a prismatic and brilliant blonde color! He delicately applied the blonde all throughout, with beautiful strands and light streaks of color on the top and even more blonde at the bottom. He paid so much attention to detail. I cannot rave enough about him. He is truly passionate and went above and beyond in spending his time on me and energy. I would absolutely go back to him! The staff at this salon is so nice too it’s nice to have such a great place right here in Hoboken! Loving my blonde locks for the summer!

I have straight thin hair, long bob haircut. From my prospective it’s an extremely simple haircut, just cut it evenly, even a third grader can do it. Not only Monique was inattentive to what I was asking for, she also couldn’t make an even cut. I came back home, brushed my hair and cut everything she missed. She also blow-​dried my hair in a way I looked bold after that blow dry. When I asked for some volume, she said that she thought I like it flat. Yeah, not only she thinks I like when my thin hair look even thinner, she also can read minds! And by the way 1 inch is 1 inch, not 1 inch on the left side and 1.5 inches on the right.
I paid $ 60 for this haircut and honestly I can’t understand why!
Other stuff is very helpful and nice, but when I sent back my feedback (the form I received through email) nobody ever contacted me, I assumed they just don’t care.

I have been looking for a go to salon for blow outs and I think I found it. Such a clean, upbeat salon. Staff is beyond nice and genuine! Had a wonderful experience! They also have blow out packages that are such a great deal. Ended up buying 3 more blow outs. Will definitely be looking into getting my hair colored and cut there as well! Thanks again to Andrea for my great blowout !

Love this place, from their complimentary signature strawberry basil water to their wonderful haircuts, this place is a hidden hoboken gem. Ask for Monique, she is my favorite and always gets my hair just right.

I went today to Salon Gatto for the first time. All I can say is LOVE LOVE LOVE. I love everything about this place! Everyone was sooooo incredibly nice and professional. Monique did my hair and she was amazing! She was so sweet and listened to everything I asked for. I got a single process color and long layers. It came out beautiful! The salon is so nice. Complimentary beverages… love! And Ashley did one of the best shampoos ever. My head felt amazing. If I could give Salon Gatto 10 stars I would. Can’t wait to go back in 6 – 8 weeks for a trim and color touch up:)

I’ve always been VERY picky about choosing a salon. Having recently moved from Long Island to Hoboken, I was extra picky this time around. Read GREAT reviews for Salon Gatto and decided to give them a try on 4÷21÷16. I was greeted by the front desk receptionist, Greg, whom instantly presented a friendly vibe, and offered to hang up my jacket. He then presented a drink menu which included beer, wine, flavored water, etc — all complimentary by the way!
I was booked with Monique for cut & color, and was VERY happy with my results. She is super friendly, funny, and attentive. I showed her a photo of what I was looking for — balayage. Other salons in the past would do their own thing, and not listen to what I was hoping to achieve, but Monique went ABOVE & BEYOND!
I walked in as a brunette, and strutted out as a blonde balayage beauty! I will definitely be back! Thank you for the great service!

Had my hair colored and cut by Monique today and I’m so happy with my new look! Very professional, friendly, and knows what she’s doing. I’ve had traumatizing experiences at other salons and decided to go with this place after reading their great reviews. I’m happy to say I have found my new salon and hair stylist. The staff is so friendly and make you feel very comfortable. Highly recommend this salon!

I absolutely loved my experience at Salon Gatto. I just moved to town and needed a new go-​to place to get my hair cut. The salon is chic and everyone was notably friendly and professional. Although hard to make an appointment (because they’re so great!), the staff was able to recommend Kodumu for my long hair and he was great. He brought my hair back to life and offered me numerous suggestions as to how I can keep my hair healthy.
I am so happy that I found a salon as great as Gatto!

I started going to Salon Gatto a few months ago when my stylist moved to the West Coast — a few friends quickly recommended Kodumu and I cannot be more pleased. Tonight I will be going back for my third appointment and I can honestly say that my hair has never looked better! I feel like I finally have the right cut and have also appreciated the «help» I’ve gotten to ensure I look (almost) as good when I’m doing my hair on my own as when I leave the salon. For the first time ever people have noticed my hair and I’ve happily recommended others as well — all have been thrilled!

Just started going to Salon Gatto and absolutely love it. Greg starts off the experience with a warm welcome and the salon is beautiful — crisp, stylish, and clean. Amanda is fantastic and really talked me through the cut and shine. I recently got a blowout from Ashely and she was great as well. I’m very happy to have found a new salon that is so amazing! I had my first visit for a single process today and I was working with Monique. I LOVED it!!! The team there is very friendly and very professional! It was an awesome experience. Monique is SUPER nice and a FANTASTIC stylist! I already made my next app with her. Definitely recommend it to everyone! :)

I always have a fabulous experience at Salon Gatto, it’s the best salon in north Jersey! I’ve been seeing Randi for a couple of years and she is an amazingly talented colorist and stylist! My hair has never had such incredible dimension and shine! The staff greets you quickly and offers you a drink menu, all drinks are complimentary! If you are looking for a new salon in the area, look no further!

I’ve been going to Christine for more than 5 years and absolutely love her new salon. Everyone there is fantastic. In addition to Christine, I’ve had great highlights and haircuts by Monique and Randi. I highly recommend Salon Gatto!

The most beautiful experience in my life… Everywhere SERVICE SERVICE AND SERVICE if I could I give it 10 stars. I went on my lunch time and the reception guy (amazing style also) he was so kind, he offered to me a fancy menu with different kind of tea coffee and also wine. The lady she did it my hair gave me a mini massage and the blow dry was awesome. I ready set up an appointment for consultation and I’m very sure they are going to be on charge of my new look (transformation)

I’m so happy I found this salon! For once I felt like someone had a plan for my hair rather than their own agenda. I absolutely adore their staff, as well as their drink menu. You can tell that there were so many fine details and personal touches that went into this salon. I appreciated all of them and can’t wait to go back and enjoy another much needed day of relaxation at Salon Gatto.

I’ve been using Kathy for the past two years. Initially, at another salon and then followed her when she started at Salon Gatto about six months ago.
My allegiance is to Kathy because she created a style for me that suited me perfectly; she customized it to my liking and then added her own twist.
There’s nothing like walking into a place and being treated like royalty where they greet you with a smile and a drink of choice on the house.
My investment in Kathy has not only brought me an influx of compliments on my new hairstyle, but also a friend.

I am so happy that I can echo the fabulous reviews for this salon. I actually ended up here after receiving a horrible haircut! I was so upset so I called trying to get an emergency appointment, Greg was so sympathetic to my situation and booked me an appointment with Kodumu. He is truly a godsend. I didn’t think my situation could really be fixed, so my expectations were low, as it was already such a mess and way too short. Obviously the only way to fix it is to cut more off but Kodumu assured me the whole time we were going to work on it together! He really took time to hear me out and understood exactly what I needed to happen to feel better. So thankful I came here, and will now make this my new salon.
On top of the wonderful service by all of the staff, it’s a really lovely place — clean, sleek. They offer you a choice of beverage on arrival, which just makes the experience completely top notch.

Christine — the awesome owner of Salon Gatto — has been doing my hair since Salon Gatto was just a dream in her head. Years ago I moved from Philly had no idea who to trust in the area. After a few misses, I finally found Christine. It’s been 8 years now and I haven’t let anyone else do my hair. She’s incredible.
So when it came time to pick someone to do my hair for my wedding, I knew I couldn’t trust anyone else. At my trial we did two looks and I fell in love with the second one. I’ll admit, I also had a hair trial with someone who else was more local to my wedding venue and it took her almost 3 hours to get something I was mildly happy with. Christine had my hair looking amazing in 30 minutes. It was an easy decision to work with Christine for my wedding too.
My sister is also really particular about her hair and I was nervous about choosing a stylist to her hair for the wedding. Then she met with Christine and my sister got exactly what I was looking for.
Even though I was getting married hours away, Christine was there, perfectly on time with a smile on her face — which is the usual for her. She drove down the night before so I didn’t have to worry. I had back up plan after back up plan for my whole wedding, so I wouldn’t’ have to stress — yet come the morning of my wedding — the one thing I didn’t have a back up plan for was hair and make up for my bridesmaids. The woman I hired to do their hair and make up never showed. And then, like my fairy godmother, Christine simple stepped in and said she could help out. So after doing three up-​dos for me, my mom and sister, she helped my maids do simple and beautiful things with their hair, out of the goodness of her heart, she stayed later and I couldn’t’ have been more thankful.
I did a lot of research for all my vendors for my wedding, but with my hair, it was always a simple choice. Christine and her staff are awesome and I would highly recommend them for any special occasion.
