My dad has been seeing him quite a number of years & the issue still is not resolved!
All I can say is everyone will have their own experience based on what the issue is that needs treatment — but since my dads skin issue still exists — we are in the process of transitioning to a different dermatologist …

Dr. Kolton is one of the best dermatologists I’ve ever seen. He may seem quiet and reserved when you first meet him but he will help you any way you can. I would suggest bringing a list of your concerns and questions and he will gladly answer all of them. He will not rush you. If he cannot treat your condition he will give you his honest opinion and recommend another doctor. I respect Dr. Kolton because he is not the type of doctor to prescribe you something you do not need. I have to agree with a fellow review poster about this office and say that the front desk staff are sometimes rude and unfriendly. I love Dr. Kolton and will continue to see him but his staff needs to take a lesson on customer service.

Dr. Kolton kept me waiting for nearly an hour (I had an appointment!) and when he entered my exam room he didn’t knock. He just walked in, sat down, and started writing. Since this was my first time meeting him, I expected an introduction, a smile, or perhaps a hand shake. He never made eye contact with me (at least not with the eye that he had control over…). His personality was cold, miserable, and disconnected. In addition, the receptionist was rude and standoffish. All in all, this was a terrible experience. I would strongly suggest that you find a different dermatologist and office altogether.

Dr. Kolton is very knowledgeable and compassionate. You may not get this impression of him when you first see him but the key is to engage him in what the issue is and how you are bothered by it.
He will listen and he will not condescend to you. He will try new things. He is reasonably priced. He will give samples whenever possible and will answer as many questions about your treatment and condition as you have. He has a very curt and direct approach but when he becomes your regular dermatologist you will see how much he cares about finding a cure for your ailment. I do recommend him.
4 stars (no 5) due to the office staff occasionally being on the standoffish side. Most of the time they are nice but if there are questions it’s best to direct them to Dr. Kolton. The nurse is nice and calls back whenever needed.

Was convenient but otherwise generally unfriendly staff and he seemed to just want to get me out of there instead of helping me.

I come here for the occasional shot of cortisone to the face. I can always get in within 24 hours, sometimes same day.
Reception staff are very friendly and professional and Dr. Kolton is to the point and efficient.

I started going to Dr. Kolton due to my acne and skin problems and he has successfully healed them. w/​out me having to take antibiotics for months/​yrs.
Depending on the person, you might not like him or really like him as a doctor. I definitely respect and like him as a doctor… he’s very knowledgeable and spends time to explain things and if you need immediate care/​immediate biopsy he provides that as well…
He is direct and really cares on helping patients so he might not have soo much small talk when he meets with you (for ppl that enjoy the small talk, maybe he’s not your type of doctor?).I don’t mind minimal small talk because at least that way i’m in and out fast…

–if I need a prescription and he has samples of it. he is generous in giving samples… most doctors are not… but this helps cost saving for prescriptions as well on my part… sometimes you don’t need the whole container full of medication that you end up buying…
–direct and honest
–great feedback – if you had to get a test done (blood test, or sample sent to lab), he provides you with the results as soon as he gets them and if prescriptions need to be updated, he does that immediately as well…
–staff are all nice
–doctor is very knowledgeable
–Location is great, plenty of parking
–waiting area provides you with many magazines to play with and also toys for children
–he’s professional
Costs: depends on your health insurance provider
I would definitely recommend him to people who like a doctor that is knowledgeable and really cares for their patients…

New Dermatologist… not a fan of the receptionist. Location is convenient, he seemed to know his business, but not too enthusiastic about advanced techniques… like lasers.
Would recommend for standard stuff, but he will refer you to other people for services like skin treatments that med spas do on a regular basis.
